No clue on the kinship's but as for characters I can say from my experience it seems to be no waiting time. I have made a character, deleted it and right away used the same name again with no problem. Now this was on the same server. But it would seem to indicate that deleting your name holder and then transferring right away should work.

They won't be kept, reform on new server.

So here's the question. I have read that they ill double the character slots but i did not understand wrether i will have to buy them or not. Can someone enlighten me please ?

They gave premium and vip accounts 2 extra character slots already.

They already gave us 2 for free, you will have to pay for the rest.

I have already bought 3 slots, so now i have 5 characters on my main server (eldar) but i also have 1 character on the server that i will be moving to. Will i have to buy another slot or they are going to double the ones i already bought?

Kept according to a tester in the Bullroarer testing feedback thread, but write them down to be safe anyway.

None. Delete a character, by the time you log in to the other and click the rename alert and type in the name of the deleted, done. (I did just that on BR, and two lotro support documents indicate names are freed immediately upon deletion.)

They are not doubling slots, they are doubling how many you may purchase. You will have fewer total slots available across servers. You will have to pay a second time for slots to be able to play all your characters, but they have said they'll discount them. They have just given two extra slots (to Premium/VIP accounts only), none to others who have already paid for slots.

Frelorn's responses to both a player name and a kinship name was that it becomes available immediately, but give it a couple of minutes to be 100% sure.

If you don't want to take a chance, keep your placeholder player name, transfer, you will become "Name-1", then go and delete "Name", and login to "Name-1" and use your rename credit to rename.

Maybe some of them are people creating place-holders for their names, but then they are active players and can easily log in their place-holders. Nothing will assuage the pain of some people having to rename their favorite toons, but any way to cut down on that list can only be helpful. The non-logged in characters should get the -1. Please.

(perhaps they are also very old characters...not sure...but if they generate the same message, the same fix should apply)

A long time ago in a fantasy far far away...

I logged into BR to do some testing. I tried to use the name Rowanwoodh. Or Woodh of Rohan, misspelled. I could not take that name unless I changed it to Rhowan. I asked around and was told by someone I trusted to have a good grip on the response. Ya see... there was this guy who used to work at LotRO, you might have heard of him, who went by the name Rowan. I think he was the EP before Vyv. Not sure though. My info could be wrong.

Up until the last purge you could not make a toon with the name of any current employee. Anyone with an RK that tried to name his healing stone to Rock of Ages, or Rock Star or anything like that can tell you it was impossible, for the reason above I believe. As soon as Rock left Turbine you could name your stone Rock. So these names might also be lurking in the transfer menu and unavailable.

Question might now be: Well how did I get this name in the first place? Wouldn't that require bumping into that issue then? Yes, if that person was working for Turbine and specifically LotRO. If you had the name prior to that employee grabbing the +version you might not notice. While the toon in the noob area might be a correct interpretation my information might be true as well. Then again, another explanation might be that it belongs to someone/thing that, for reasons only turbine knows, has had their jersey retired.

These are educated guesses on my part but I think if you /bug the name and not being able to put it on your friends list QA will at least be able to find out why you can't use that name even if they can't tell you or do anything about it. Ya never know. It might be that there is a glitch with that name that could be resolved by QA, or some other of the dev team.

Really short answer: Doubling cap # of char slots,

e.g. if you had 10 slots (filled or empty) on your sub you will have 12 currently, if you are a prem or vip.

You will have to pay for any slot after that up to and including 42, slots. [i call shennagins]

I have a ton of destiny points from back in the day. I know this is considered a shared item based on account and server. If I transfer account items (which would include DP) from server A to server B, and I already have some DP on server B, does the DP on B get erased or are the two amounts combined on server B? Does the same process apply to commendations?

They will just be added on top of the amount already there, you won't lose any. If you reach a cap (such as commendations) it will just go in overflow until you spend it.

Do you know if that's actually been verified for commendations and destiny points? I saw your post saying some items went into overflow (can't remember what exactly it was), but I'm wondering if anyone has tested comms and DP to verify they are not lost when both the source and destination server have them.

I do not have the ability to check those two things myself.

They will go into overflow according to Vyvyanne. You can test it by transferring creeps or freeps to Bullroarer if you want (although I believe the server will be taken down for patching today). I don't have enough commendations to add up to 15k, only about 4k, so I can't test it myself, but that is how you would test it.

Hmm for some reason I thought (or assumed?) the copy/transfer process was wiping out anything that was already on Bullroarer for the account. I'll test the comms and DP some time this week if possible. Thanks.

got a question about escrow for items and such from deluxe/kin house.was
wondering about the capacity of escrow itself,seems vault items remain in
the vault after transfer?but for housing I expanded the deluxe/kin storage
a couple times and it is fairly full right now.been kind of a hoarder when it
comes to crafting mats,1,200 ingots alone on a metal-smith,and just was
wondering about the escrow capacity.

That's one of the few items remaining for me to test. Copies to BR were turned off for the current testing. Oh, I just thought of a way to test that. [Scribbles a note to myself.] Update: Argh, that idea won't work without the ability to copy over more live characters to BR.

o Account Shared Currency (Mithril Coins & Skirmish )
o Shared Storage
o Housing Storage
o Wardrobe
o Destiny

The Shared Items Transfer will always be a free service and will be available even if you have moved all characters off of a world, just in case you moved a character and left some account level items behind."

...from the Dev diary announcement. What I don't understand is that it sounds like shared storage, et al. could be sent to multiple servers if desired? I've considered splitting up my toons to join different friends moving to different servers, so I'm wondering about this.

Unless I've misunderstood, shared items cannot be distributed from one server to several, rather only to one. If I have a server with characters who are splitting up, I'm letting one main character (likely house owner) take all the bound to account items/ shared storage, and am aware they will take the wallet items generally as well, to their new server.

Then, what I have done is load up a few mule characters with non-shared items such as mats/money/decor... which they will take with them to other servers in their bags and personal vault space, to help my lesser played/lower level characters... sharing the wealth as it were.

One of my own questions would be, if I move a character from Server A to join a group on Server B (same account), does that character then have access to the same walleted items and bound-to-account items of the other characters there on Server B?

You cannot split up the shared account items from one server and divide them over 2 servers. If it is ITEMS you want to split up, you will have to move them to the characters you are splitting off to a different server. All items in shared storage, wardrobe, and wallet items such as "green" currency (e.g. marks/medaillions,merits etc) will move from one server to one server only, as a whole.

What you CAN do is the reverse: combine all shared items from multiple closing servers into one server. Items will just stack up in shared storage, and go into overflow. I moved all my characters from 3 servers to Bullroarer on the recent test for instance, and ended up with 260-ish slots used in my 170 slot shared storage. At that moment you can take things out, you just can't put new stuff back in until you free up space or buy shared storage space.

concerning ban on transfers to Brandywine: why can't I just add toons to the already existing account on Brandywine?

If you care so much about Brandywine overpopulation just prevent new account creation for that server.

I am closely following everything that published regarding the transfer of server and I talked about chatting in the game. I understood that all players, even those servers that will not be closed, (how Laurelin), will move to the new server Laurelin, when we have the button that will allow us to do. Many players think instead that those servers that do not will be closed should not do anything, that at most there will be an automatic transfer of the server.

Please, even if it has been explained above, repeat this because it is clear that either me or them wrong. Thank you and congratulations for the great work you have done, and are making, to allow us in the future play a more pleasant game.

If you are on a server that is not going to be closed you do not need to do anything in regards to your Account or Characters on that very server.

I think you also wrong. waiting for an answare of a Community Manager.

Transfer from surviving servers will be optional, not mandatory.
