Don't worry Fames you're still one of the tops in my list, that is if you stop playing your EZ-moding RK!
Thanks! I remember many fun 1v1s with your champ (was still in TWH then) -- no need for a disclaimer.
Star and I do not play very much right now (haven't for a few weeks), but before our playtimes diminished, we duo/trio'd far more than we raided! I have no idea who you are, but thanks for knowing the full TWH reaver roster!
(BTW, 1v1s existed long before this thread did. )
------------------------
Fun fact: Skill isn't based on your tribe/kin association! Some of my most memorable/enjoyable 1v1s were against Uht and Bedlem who are in *gasp* Gank Squad (the kin that garners about as much love as TWH)!
Side note: Semi-enjoyable 2v3 between Me/Barkh and Earmir/Darora/Incanous tonight while I was on for 10 minutes.
Happy Hunting!
/salute
Cheers again to Gaelbo for the never-ending 1v1 west of Lugz last night. 42 straight minutes of uninterrupted not being able to kill eachother. I swear he full healed at least 7 times, and changed in and out of WS so many times I lost count... finally ended by that little blue dot that wandered by (who incidentally got the KB :) ).
Also, if anyone would like to help me grind money for power pots tonight, that would helpful :D.
Your disclaimer is as pointless and unecessary as saying you are good at 1v1s for people with names starting with F. In a group as large as The White Hand, there's obviously going to be a wide range of skill level and a wide range of playstyles. So if you want to compliment him, do so and leave it at that. If you don't? Then don't.
And Shima used to beat most Creeps (and Champs) on this server. So he's a rather good gauge of talent.
Uhtredson is definitely a superior 1v1 player.
And as much as I hate to compliment Uht, he is a good 1v1'er.
And you can't even make the comment that he's a FotM guardian, because he's been nearly exclusively playing a guardian ever since I've played this game.
Unlike other recent guardians.
And, one day, when captains finally get a real slow, you all best watch out! Muahaha!
(Did I start enough sentences with "and" or what!)
Wanna name any?

On another note. It is disconcerting to learn that Postoffice is also Buppkiss (if I read that right). As an enemy, I "like" Postoffice and I very much "dislike" Buppkiss (though I've had some fun fights and losses against both). Might be that I like reavers and don't like spider... I have no idea.
This is why it is better not to think of creeps as people, and to just hate them all for being creeps.
It's funny, but even though I can see creeps' tribe tags when I'm out there, I have very little idea who's in The White Hand. However, I know pretty accurately which freeps are in Gank Squad even though I can't see their kin tags.
Also, more on topic, I had a nice 1v1 with Leekae yesterday. He nearly killed me even without using dire need.
*points up* We can't stay connected for more than a few seconds from our house atm, so it's a huge risk to even come out to the Moors. We'll freeze up for sometimes 20 seconds or longer at times. Sometimes we can autoattack as it just hangs by a thread, but basically we just have to sit there while we're killed, lol.
They're here trying to fix it now, but it looks like it will be a couple more days :( Comcast FTL.
If he was having connection problems I couldn't tell. But, I do agree that Comcast is FTL :(
Hi there everyone.
It's your friendly neighborhood Celestrata here. I've been looking through the thread, and I've noticed that we've been trending away from talking about Good 1v1s in this thread. Instead, we seem to be getting into insulting other tribes and the skill of other users. We're arguing about bad fights instead of celebrating the good ones and congratulating one another for providing a challenge.
Sure, yes, it is an open PvP zone and 1v1s can be broken up by other players. But this is not the "Good 1v1s broken up by other players that makes me angry" thread. This is the Good 1v1 thread.
When posting here, keep to the spirit (and topic) of the thread. If you derail it, you will be infracted.
Had a couple good 1v1's last night.
Shuvn... or however you spell it (Sorry!), was a great 1v1. I didn't expect a warg to pop out of no where while I rezzed the guy.
Coli- Words cannot describe how hard I laughed at the end of our 1v1. That was the most hilarious thing I have witnessed in the Moors to date. Can't wait to have another :D
It was a good fight! I was actually on my way to Gv to get stun pots when you pounced me. :p
I also had a couple fights going with Mawz, one on Lee then one on Thengol both were hampered by our current D/c net issue. Maybe next time Mawz! ./shakes fist!
Last night I had a good 1v1 with Akleburz (sp?) south of Lugz rez.
For me there is no such thing as a good 1 vs 1. Not that I do not like watching them, I just cannot keep up with freeps running in circles around me zapping and stunning. I am, without a doubt the worst at on on one encounters. Ah well, I still get fed at least.
I have had the pleasure of watching many excellent fights between others, and will always stop to watch a 1 vs 1 between certain players.
Yea Leekae, Comcast sucks big time. I had them for a brief time, but now stick to AT&T. And yet with all my server speed, and uber computer. I still lag in the moors when raids collide.
all things aside that have been discussed time and again, the weakest part of the moors in regards to this topic of 1 v1 is the fact that people can run right through each other. For those of you who have played other PVP games where other players are solid objects rather than ethereal entities, you understand the difference already, but basically it really takes away from potential tactics in movement, and adds tactics that I just plain suck at (like running through the enemy and hitting them, turning 180, repeating)
Since over the last couple of weeks, 1v1s have begun to resurface and be generally respected by onlookers, I have been working really hard at learning "duel movement" for our flavor of PVP since 1v1 is really fun.... I still suck, because im a clicker, but i will keep practicing. I would love some pointers.
Anyhow, fully on topic, today I was out trying to avoid the 12 or so man freep raid while solo on my reaver. I found plenty of small skirmish action around lugz lawn/lugz rez. In particular, I had 2 fights with a champ that got my heart rate going.
~S~ Warrmir. I charged him heading up toward lugz rez from RoP side. He turned and fought me, only 30 yards from the 1-shotters and gave me a heck of a fight. He stayed until the death without dragging me into the guards, which he could have done so easily (and I would have followed).
This wasnt enough though. He had to try me again (and again without controlled burn) on lugz lawn.
Thank you for the fun Warrimir. Another dueling champ on Landy gets my utmost respect. I hope I have the fortitude to stick with my champ (once i get him leveled) that you showed me today.
I had another fun engagement on lugz lawn as well. As far as i know it was me, a spider, and a warg, vs Wilandria, Warrimir, and a warden. I fought half the fight at 200 morale, and I have no idea how I survived, but I really thought the freeps were going to win until a perfectly timed pounce turned the tables. Very fun you guys.
I am really loving how, seemingly since this thread started, those that are interested in small fights seem to stay as far as possible from the big raids and have their own little fun. It always seems to be the same usual suspects as well, making it easier and easier to judge whether or not I should stay on the sidelines and watch, or jump in to help.
I know certain freeps are not going to call in the cavalry on me even if I win a duel, and freeps (i hope) are beginning to learn which creeps will not be on the horn for close air support the moment they die. This means the ability to stay in the area long enough to toss a salute, which really helps repair some of the old school respect between sides.
YAY for 1v1s =).
I was running aimlessly around the Ettenmoors with fellow Warleader Hurik (I'm not exaggerating, ever tried to ninja a relic with two Warleaders only to realize that the Relic isn't there and you have that +Infamy buff? Yeah . . .) when we found a Ranger and two freepies over the freshly toppled bodie of Pouncival. Being totally zoned out we proceeded to attack with reckless abandon, especially considering that the freepies were under leveled. I rezzed Pouncy to help us since it would then be a 3 on 3 but he responded by getting killed almost immediatly.
Despite this we still managed to kill the freeps, rezz Pounce again, and drive the Ranger off. All in all a pretty good win considering it only cost us 2 bubbles and 2 rezzes.
This one time, I smashed Faimli... THRICE!
Love you Faimli

The first night I threw my RK on the moors, I caught Nuul alone at Poor TA. He and I had a helluva 1vs1... it's very difficult to burn through a well-ranked Defiler's HoT's, even as a Rune Keeper, so the fight lasted a good amount of time, for a LotRO duel at least.
In the end I pulled off the win, but really if I hadn't been so lucky with the dice rolls it likely wouldn't have gone so well for me. Nuul knows what he's doing, and he put up a good fight.
I must say though, the fight would have been much less fun if I hadn't goofed up and forgotten to trait my Epic Conclusion. I hate that skill, and I'm an RK! Makes the game too easy.
I had a couple nice 1v1's with arctic and silkweave last night.
Stupid cable is still bugging out, as I'm sure some of you creeps noticed. :(
Congratulations on resurrecting an old word!
On another note: that reaver the other day (Monday?) that took me on (I forget who) needs to trait some defenses or light defense or something. He literally exploded. Like Poof! I think the only attacks I didn't crit were the ballads. Anyway, very good tactics with the charge and breaking LOS early on. IDK who he is but he knows how to adapt to the class he's facing off. I was just more lucky is all.
I love Jetsu. How many freeps will dismount when a warg mauls them from stealth? Not too many, but he did. And I only won because of a very lucky hit while he had TnG up. /salute
*chuckles*
I need to learn to leave those that outnumber me and have NPC backup alone at EC. But they was so tempting, and the Ranger was so sneaky pew pewing from the safety of EC. I firmly subscribe to the motto that "Death is temporary, infamy is forever."
Thanks for the help and the rezes guys.
*** Borfinn...you could have killed me, but instead you ran away and still died
edit: and then you ruined my 1v1 with Lalgo.....I just don't like you
