Probably...look what happened to Numenor!

I still have my horseshoe, I wore it the entire leveling run from 65 - 75 and didn't find a single thing in RoI (I haven't done the raid stuff yet) that seemed affected by it. Not even a steel lootbox drop, nothing. I still do think it does affect some loot drops but just not sure where.
I posted this a while back but I think most people missed it. In regards to the Horseshoe I can confirm at least one of the effects of wearing it in the Winter Festival. If you wear it while playing the snowball fight game, every time you are hit by a snowball you actually have a chance to receive a supercharged buff, rather than the tiered debuff.
There was an npc in the treasure hunt event , he told somethin about how lucky it would be if we got that shoe... or somethin like it...
This thread and some of the comments on the donations page got me thinking...
It used to be that, if you entered the moors during chicken session play and managed to reach the Steps of Grams you were awarded the title "Fool". Is this title still available?
Because if it is, I will donate $50 to have Sapience play chicken session play in the Gladden moors, just so we can say we made a Fool out of him...
Not available and likely never will be again. It was only available for a couple of hours one April Fool's day a few years back. It was meant as a gag and ended up dragging the servers to their knees. With the host of issues that rapidly came up when hordes of chickens, creeps trying to feed on chickens, and freeps trying to protect chickens all slammed the moors at once- and pretty much killing the servers- they had to turn it off. It's been off ever since and will likely never return.
So those few that have that title will be the only ones to ever get that title.
Don't get your panties in a bunch over it. I'm sure whatever it does is not that important. It might give a 0.1% speed buff. More than likely, there will be something in the epic where an NPC makes a comment or something that you wouldn't see otherwise. This is not the first time this has happened. If I remember correctly, when you gathered the Gray Company as part of the epic, you got to tell Halros to stay or go, which made a difference later in the epic. Not a big difference, just a bit part.
This was the first thing that came to mind for me also. Someone else mentioned a possible buff during the snowball fight. I guess I'll have to check both out at the next winter festival.
So, the horseshoe does do something. For those of you who choose one of the other rewards in the epic quest, or who deleted it to make more room in your inventory or in your bank, it will now be available from the store for only 8,749 Turbine Points.
Most people don't know it (yet), but Ma Sandson's Prized Pie is the single most valuable item in the game. When you get to Mordor, all you'll need to do is offer the pie to Sauron, and you'll win the game!
For those players without the foresight to keep the pie in their inventory, it will be available in the Store for $300, thus giving new meaning to the term "Pay2Win."
Exactly what he said, the servers pretty much crashed after the event was up for 3 hours. So they had to turn the event off and do a reboot, iirc. I have it on my burglar and he likes having his unique title.
Per the thread, now I am sad I don't have it anymore on my main as it didn't seem worthwhile at the time.
The trick is to equip Erebrandir's Horseshoe while wearing your Bounders Sherrif's Cap!
Fortunate for me then that I still have both. Not only that, but I occasionally wore the hat till level 65. Only after being defeated mind for the hope bonus, to save me from having to keep crafting hope tokens.
... I am annoyed though that I stupidly deleted the pie in my early days with the game...
I know one thing that it DOES do, for sure, that is associated with the epic Book that you got it in. I and others have verified this through experimentation (it helps to have a ton of alts and characters to run through things ;) ). It has to do with the ability to see certain things... and that's about all I am going to say about it :)
Will have to try it out in the Treasure Hunt the next time it is up... and yes, I have it on all of my toons that have done that Book. General Rule of Thumb: when given a choice between rewards you can get elsewhere and a reward you can ONLY get in at 1 time, in 1 place, take the unique reward.
So people have enough time to sell off/delete their horseshoe and then have to rebuy it in the store, since you can't get it back any other way. Probably only 2k Turbine points to rebuy it, maybe?
Pics or video or forget about it, seriously. There's been enough talk like this from Turbine, we don't need more of it from fellow players.
Apparently the horseshoe causes me to crash?
No, really. I've been having some decently good luck since Rohan launched. I got the Spotted Warsteed out of my first spoils box, got a battered ring out of the first Sutcrofts box I opened, and a second today, not to mention a number of Tarnished crests. All this without the horseshoe.
And then, while at my vault, I thought to grab the horseshoe and put it on, figuring I'd wear it while finishing the III.9 epic. Have not been able to get back in since - each time, I manage to get into the world, only to immediately lose connection with the server.
Probably just a coincidence, but a spooky one! :p
Conversely, you could be the jerk for passing on it at the time. Two sides to everything, really. Just because it didn't tell you what it does, doesn't mean it does nothing.
As for all the folks who want specifics on what it does... a little mystery is good for you. If it's a problem, throw it away or don't take it in the first place.
Maybe next time we'll get a full 'workings of the horseshoe' in keeping with

Q: What does the Horseshoe do?
A: No Comment BUT we will let the community know at some point!
Awhile back I was deconstructing LI's and relic forging and noticed an increase in the amount of multi- relics I was getting as well as shards. It was enough of a difference to catch my eye and upon inspection, I had the horseshoe equipped. Since that time, everytime it is time to decon and forge... I equip it.
Probably just superstition but I did play baseball a few years back.. Ok... Quite a few years back. Anyway, I have told a few friends about this and they have also said there is an increase in shards and multiple relics upon forging and deconning...
I also ran Draigoch with a guy who insisted everyone equip their horseshoe when we rolled... He won that nights run because no one had there's except him... Silly LOTRO. Just tell us and be done with it. Or be the politicians that you are and continue to say "almost" something... :)
