My guess is that they will either open again tomorrow, or after the weekend.... but not before they fix the current logon problems. Those problems have been plaguing Lotro for about a week now I think.
As eager as I am to get the next stage of the transfers and testing started, I have to say I'm in favor of leaving the transfers off officially until mid-day Monday. While I'm sure key Turbine personnel would be willing to monitor events over the weekend, there are far too many things that could go wrong, too many clients that could be adversely impacted and too many people (Turbine or even vendor personnel) that might be needed to address the potential problems but hard to get/unavailable over a weekend.
Come on guys, give them a break. The game is still up and we can play. I would much rather them get some rest and think clearly, then be running on coffee and end up with more problems. I read that some have successfully transferred and others are waiting. I would rather wait than lose some or all of my stuff.
I know that I am not able to transfer yet but for some reason my game does not want to update with the transfer option. as anybody got any advice on how to bump start this update. restart the game several times to no avail.
Transfers have been stopped completely so you won't even see the transfer button anymore in the launcher. As soon as transfers are enabled again the button should activate.Quote:

My guess is that they initially planned Wednesday's patch for last Monday, but based on some test results on bullroarer they decided to postpone it to Wednesday... with some of the problems they have had earlier this week, they are now delayed by about a week for sure, maybe more. That 1st of October date, they aren't going to meet. And people on Meneldor are getting worried.....
So here's hoping for transfers today :)

Yes it will be possible. There's an option to transfer your whole account to one server or you can select each toon separately to send them to different worlds, and also to decide which one takes your shared storage along.Quote:

Absolutely. You can split up your toons between all 5 servers if you want. Exception for now is Brandwhine as it isn't possible to move to that server for now.Quote:

Also you have to take note that your housing items are attached to the person who owns the house, so they will move in the escrow of that particular person. You can also make a mule to make the transfer of goods easier. I would recommend a dwarf as they start closest to a vault when you get out of intro. :D
I love this game. Great community also. It's the lag ultimately (especially in PvMP!!) that keeps me away. With characters being transferred before the new hardware is turned on, I'll wait until the dust settles.
question, If I have toons on a closing server, and toons on server im transferring to, will shared items like marks/meds be combined?
also, what happens to toon im transfering if charator slots on target server are full
Yes they combine as for the extra toons they will be there but not usable until you "get" more slots. It has been said that there may be a sale on slots once this all gets going.Quote:

Landroval will remain just as it is (Vyvyanne made a post to this effect that I have not found again); the only RP-name-enforced English server will remain Laurelin. With the NA servers incompatible with the EU servers, counting Landroval as 'the English-language RP server' would be unfair to the EU English-speaking RP community.

Well it doesn't look like we get transfers back again this weekend..... Was kinda hoping we could get going. But hey, if there serious problems, I would rather they take the time to fix it.... But it would have been nice. I think 75% of transfers would probably be done within the first week, albeit testers albeit people that wanted to move anyways. If it was over the weekend, they could have gotten that out of the way, but it could also bring problems which they would rather fix during business hours.
Too bad :) But I understand. I was sooo looking forward of transferring what I got from Gladden to Arkenstone though....:D
Just want to say thank you to those people who have taken the time and patience to answer questions here and especially the repeated questions. It is sometimes hard to find a specific answer in a thread of this length and importance.
That said, I apologise in advance if this question has likewise already been answered but I haven't been able to see it answered here.
I have two characters named the same on My soon to be closing server, Vilya, and on my preferred destination, Landroval. The Landroval character was originally created to attend events but as often is the case, took on a life of it's own. Is there a way that I can choose which of these characters will get the Rename Token?
Rename tokens are account or at least server based things. If they haven't made some special rename token for this event, and I doubt it, you can use it to rename any character you have, at least in that same server as the name conflict. But. You need one rename token for the original toon to release the name you are after, and then another token for the one that got transferred which now has at the end of his name the suffix -1.Quote:

Once I get to my new server, does the same toon who bought the original house on the sunsetting server have to buy the new personal house for my account? I'm worried that if another toon on my account makes the purchase, the escrow, maintenance, etc. won't transfer.
I think the answer is that any toon on my account can purchase the new house and all the items will transfer, but if a Blue Name could confirm, it would ease my mind.

Escrow shouldn't be a problem, as it should be accessible by all of your characters on the server. However, transferring maintenance is something new, and is a good question, if a char other than original house owner makes the new purchase. For that matter, what happens if you transfer a current house owner onto a server where you already have a char that owns a house?Quote:
