First, thanks Devs for bringing the Curator back.
I have to say the (at that time) unexplained and unannounced disappearance of Filbert Fig combined with the low cap on embers and figments still feels like dirty pool.
On the note of the cap, I often want to save enough for a complete new set of armor and then purchase and set it up in one shot. To me that means a raised cap of at least 20,000 would be workable.

Because it's not really clear to me which just happened. To your point, if the Curator is not present during the next festival (and it may well be since its presence is apparently going to be determined randomly, or they'd be able to tell us so, since the dates of the next festival are known), should we again make all the polite requests we made in this thread and waste the time of everyone involved? And then kiss their butts if they happen to bring it back when we're drowning in figments, when it's something they should be planning to do anyway (or rather the Curator should always be present, since there are ways to earn figments year round)?

This right here please. I was saving up for the dwarf furniture for my dwarven scholar. I don't know how many housing items you sell, but I would just as soon buy things in the store as go through all this rigamarole with embers and motes and figments and whatnot. Subscriber and I will occasionally buy LP for fluff. Houses and fluff are a major part of my game. If you start making it torturous to get them, I get very disinclined to log in.Quote:

I guess I'm from the 'old school,' where customer service was something companies used to go out of their way to provide their customers in order to keep good relations and keep their customers. That's not how it is for most companies these day.. Progress doesn't always mean things are for the better.
I, too, am a bit upset that the Splendour vendor for regular things is gone. I had just acquired a kinhouse and wanted to provide an outhouse. I thought I'd try Dale first, since I knew I could spend lake tokens to get the Laketown Outhouse....it's no longer available, instead there is a 'boghouse'. It is only an outside item. So I though, looking at the LOTRO-wiki site...I have enough figments of splendour, I can get a public outhouse, which I can then use either inside or outside....It too, is no longer available, and neither is the banker or barber. It's too bad there is a limit on the figments, especially when items are available on a limited basis. I really enjoy decorating my houses. It's one of the features that keeps me coming back. By limiting availability of things people come to expect as regular is very disheartening. I just spent quite a bit of money (yeah, I figure I'm helping pay for SSG's wages) so I could purchase some store items. But you really are not treating your customer base very well of late. I think there should at least be a 'general' splendour barter where you can get basic items, and then rotate a seasonal one.
[On a side note, I remember a time, when I put in a ticket, and didn't have to wait hours for a response. I recently had one of my crafting characters put in a ticket. I remarked that I wasn't on that 'toon' often since they were a crafter. I know in the past a GM had somehow marked me so that they could respond when a character was online. I recieved a reply a couple days later that they couldn't help me since I was off-line. Isn't there someway to contact one of our characters that IS online so we could switch over?]
Ok this really stinks.
SSG you need a better way to communicate with your paying customers other than having to force them to pour over these forums each and every day for fear they might miss something.
USE the login screen gosh already!
Remember: nobody is forcing you. But as paying customer, you can force the change in these SSG attitudes. Vote with your wallet. SSG's tune will change fast and dramatically, if enough do.Quote:

Quite honest you all are getting what you deserve. If we still had the opportunity to gain keys in game we would be fine. So as far as I'm concerned SSG is being generous just offering the items that are only available in the store (Via boxes) for free once in a while. /shrug.
Please don't try to suggest that SSG removed keys from game in response to people complaining about gambling. If the response was about gambling, they would have got rid of the boxes. End of. The removal of in game earned keys was everything to do with money, not what people said about gambling. As long as keys are still available (how they are obtained is irrelevant), the gambling issue that people were concerned about - is still there. In fact, it's ten times worse, as now, real money is always involved.Quote:

Try to excuse it anyway you want but the truth of the matter is sheeple jumped on the Battlefront 2 bandwagon and claimed the sky was falling with the whole lootbox thing and we now have the store only option. It was fine the way it was. And now people complain that they have to wait from some NPC to come every now and then or be forced to use the store option. People voiced their opinions of the issue. I doubt anyone would jump on a bandwagon if they truly didn't feel that way about the boxes. I can't even fathom how you think anyone would just stand up and shout about something, when it's not their own view, just to join in with a crowd. You're imagination is running away with you a bit on that. Sure, the lootbox system was much better with in game keys than it is now, but really, it would be better with no lootboxes at all, and then you could earn everything in game that you could get with an in game key. Remember, people that were against them, didn't ask for earned keys to be removed from the game, they asked for lootboxes to be removed from the game. What they got was something very different, and probably has more to do with the whole lootbox law in certain parts of the world. If SSG had listened to them, as you seem to think they did, then we wouldn't have lootboxes any longer.Quote:

The poster is under the impression that SSG removed in game keys because of player complaints about gambling. It's a naive approach, as IMO, a store only option was always on the cards from the introduction of the lootbox model with Mordor. It was inevitable and always going to hit. If SSG pandered to complaints about gambling, they would have removed the boxes altogether.Quote:

Sturdy steel keys were available for free for a number of years and even the black keys were available for a while. It wasn't until the Battlefront 2 fiasco that people started to complain (the bandwagon) and the keys got removed. I saw no indication otherwise that the keys would ever get removed. I imagine it was a lot of work for the devs to change things. Deeds, vendors, and landscape drops had to change and it was a spur of the moment deal for them. I think it's funny to believe that this was all a big conspiracy to force it all into the store. Maybe do away with boxes, keys, and figments and make it all store stuff only.
