Finally started patch process after 3 hours of the red x trying to connect every minute :)

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
I tried to start patching when the patching servers originally came online at around 11am UK time. It's now approaching 9:30pm, some 10.5 hours later, and there's absolutely no progress whatsoever. Let me repeat that: 10.5 hours!
Absolutely failure of a launch day. I expect delays and waits, but this is ridiculous. Bring back the old expansion launches! They were much better than this. No wonder you didn't have to make an instanced area for the initial zerg - you're filtering us out on the patching and login servers instead!

Not at all. I'm saying a responsible business doesn't spend 20 bucks to protect 25 cents of potential revenue. Without knowing those costs and potential losses, I'm saying that neither you nor I know enough to know whether they should or shouldn't have spent that money.

Kind of sucks when 10 people in your kin, on TS, are in already and you are the only one who isn't *cry*

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
I was literally thinking "If I see that 00 go back to :59 again I swear I am going to..." when it sped down to "updating game data.."
you got lucky this time, patch server, quite lucky...

Since then, I've avoided any major update for a good few hours or a day at least, just incase..
Just..incase.
Ahh yeah the fabled boot.ini incident. Was great, I remember that as well, coming home deciding to check forum to read about the update and seeing all those poor people who had lost their boot.ini file.

haha right? We also have the obligatory 'I expect a refund' posts, 'I'm an IT guy/programmer/etc,etc and I know' posts; LOL cats, and even a 'Turbine ruined my birthday' post! Good times! :D

Good luck guys.
I sat on examine game data for a little over an hour(after waiting to connect for 6 or 7 hours), restarted it and now I'm back at failed connections again. Glad someone's having better luck than me.

I'm a cosmetics fiend. Also those 25% exp pocket items saved me a ton of time leveling up my 8 alts.

The car is ready in the middle of the day on the 26th, a day before it was promised.
But self-entitlement is a powerful thing indeed. So you get upset because YOU had decided that the car would be available on the morning of the 26th. Never mind that the dealership told you the car wouldn't be yours until the 27th. Never mind the fact that you actually took possession of the car a day before you were "supposed" to. You're upset because the dealership didn't meet the arbitrary and imaginary deadline that YOU came up with.
That's pretty unreasonable, really. They exceeded their promise. They got the car to you before they said they would. That's actually the bottom line.
However this was originally promised today and was then pushed back to the 27th. My receipt for the pre purchase quite clearly states today. As of now I haven't got it and therefore I am not happy

We are seeing steady increases in the number of players per world and it is across all servers. So the patching servers and login servers are working as expected and players are getting into the game.
No problem. It's WAI. Really?

I wonder how long it took them to spend all the money from VIP pre-orders on hookers & blow instead of extra servers?

I've just realised what VIP means. Very Impatient Person.

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
im doubting that turbine has state of the art computer halls for their servers if they cannot even load a torrent with the patch on it.
