Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
This is the greatest thing ever - The Fungal Mushroom is FIXED WOOHOOOOO!! WELL DONE TURBINE!
Guess I'll never get to see it though as I'm stuck at examine programs.
Wonder how many Turbine points will be needed to 'BUY' the move to 'Update Programs' in the store.

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
Well Turbine, I hope you learn from this fiasco.
You've lost customers over this.
Time to start playing AoC.

If you restart the launcher you're chancing getting stuck in the 'connect' loop for another 6 hours. Mine reverted back to that for some reason after sitting in 'Examine Game Data' for ages...not a happy bunny but what can I do?

Only if you're really lucky. Chances are you get stuck trying to connect again.

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
This is getting a bit ridiculous, seeing a red x for 8 hours is very disappointing. Can't believe this wasn't planned for.

Patching with PyLotRO
Anybody else using a Mac or Linux trying to patch with PyLotRO? This is my first major update on my Mac and all I get is this when patching:
Connecting to patch.lotro.com:80
Connection to patch server failed error code: 0x80041003
Failed to connect to the patch server: OEC_E_CONNECTIONFAILED(0x80041 003)
Connecting to patch.lotro.com:80
Connection to patch server failed error code: 0x80041003
Failed to connect to the patch server: OEC_E_CONNECTIONFAILED(0x80041 003)
Connecting to patch.lotro.com:80
checking data...
OnNetworkDisconnected()
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been sitting on that last line for 2 hours now. I'm not sure if it's doing anything or not.

Amazon S3 or Akamai can deliver large files to million of people for 15cents/Gigabyte
Would sales representative from one of these company help Turbine to enter web 2.0?
Turbine : please feel free to explain why you still rely on your own patching/delivery architecture that proves to fail each time ? Any geek from his garage can send Terabytes of data over the web if doesn't mind to pay a bit for it !

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
*sigh* I've been waiting for two hours... meanwhile my one of my kinnies connected, patched, and logged on after waiting 30 minutes.... just felt like whining here like the rest of you people.... :P

Luckily I know this feeling will disappear the second one of the clients manages to connect!
Come on Turbine! Feed those Hamsters some more!
Have you put your Erebrandir's Horseshoe on? No? See, that's why ;)

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
I've been trying to connect for over an hour and keep getting "An update error occured: A connection attempt failed". Looks like the Turbine team has taken notice to large number of complaints and trying to do something about it, but I'm still sitting at the error portion of the client patch.
After reading this thread it seems like some are successful and some are not, I'm wondering if there is a que or if it's just timing? Either way, it looks like the pre-purchasers are getting in a day early, as promised, but how do they know if you have pre-purchased the game without actually logging in? There should be an easier way to get this patch downloaded, having us log in and then put the game key in which would then allow the account to start the patch. Not really rocket science.
Guess the early access is not really guaranteed, I thought I read that it was part of the legendary edition, which I purchased, but I could be wrong. Anyways, I'll just keep trying.

Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL
Connecting, patching and logging on went smoothly (<30 mins) and in-game performance is great. I'm 10 chapters into the Epic story (thanks, Turbine, for that awesome ch. 8 surprise!) and just levelled to 67. Btw, the Bonevales look great!
Oh, who am I kidding. Still can't connect to the patching server. 11 PM here, time to get to bed. So much for "a day early" - the thought was nice, though.

I'm trying to patch my system and I keep getting a red X by connect. I just wanted to get my system patched so I could start patching my wife's when I get home :(
