Close enough to almost taste that gold present. :p
Thank you for the extension. I'm sure no one at SSG is having much fun with the downtimes. Hopefully everyone can have a quiet holiday server-wise.

Any reason why there is a completely unannounced Hobnanigans? I had been waiting for one, but as it wasn't scheduled I didn't catch it until last night.
And will the one that IS still announced for February go ahead as planned?
Strangely enough, it seems that the Hobnanigans that started at the beginning of the weekend..... is still active as of this morning, a Tuesday! Typically they keep em going for JUST the weekend....
Is this an unscheduled WEEK of Hobnanigans, or did someone just put in the wrong start and end date? ;)
I'm interesting about Yule encore and "little winter in the summer middle" as in 2018. Are possible?
It took a while, but we now have an up to date Events Schedule for much of 2020. There are still a few gaps to fill in as we get closer to those dates.
Interested in a Yule encore here too. Mainly as this one was way to close to the latest expansion and many were not geared up enough to run Storvagun T2. An encore would perhaps give more people a chance to have geared up a bit and participate.
Oh and if add an encore do not forget to change the Storvagun wrapper quest so it can be completed within the encores time frame.
Did I miss the farmer's faire in the schedule?
Jep, Farmer's Faire is missing. *snief* But Cordovan said that some events are still not dated yet.
I'd love to have a schedule for the Curator and Filbert Fig too! That would be so awesome! :o
Would realy like to see the Harvestmath and Yule fest encores posted as well, but mostly the Harvestmath
We are open to encores, and would expect some of the festivals to get them in 2020. They'll be scheduled closer to their release.
And as the saying goes... Don't look a gift encore in the mouth.
May I suggest the following: A few years ago we had "vacation in Frostbluff" which essentially was a summer encore of the Yule festival.
Why not do something similar with last year's Summer Festival, but then in winter? (No new rewards, just the same as available during summer 2019)
An ideal time for 2 weeks of Summer Festival encore (in the dead of winter) would be: Monday February 3rd through Monday February 17th - leaving 2 days before the Skirmish event starts, and possibly ending the day before Rohan launches on the legendary servers. Call it "Longing for Summer Days" or something like that... I think those in the colder areas of the world might appreciate a feeling of summer warmth, even if it is just on their monitor screens... ;)
Then, bring back Yule in the summer (after the actual Summer Festival), say July 13th through July 27th for 2 weeks.
This would also be appropriate for our friends in the southern hemisphere, such as Australia, South Africa, etc.... And it would certainly help with those who generally do other things than gaming in the summer! :D
I would Love it, & respectfully REQUEST, that we could have at least 2 "Guaranteed" Encores each year (such as Yule Fest. & Harvestmath), ...even if we don't know when they will be scheduled. That way, for at least TWO festivals, we know we will have a Second chance to do Wrappers, finish Instances, deeds, turn in Tokens, etc. ...It is a bit frustrating, to NOT know if we will have that chance, especially when Yule time can be so busy for some, with RL activities & such. (And I truly appreciated the extra Yule time this year.) .....Please consider this an option?
TYsVM ...Gratefully yours,
~CIA :o
So new splendor vendor Myrtle Mint is coming when Rowen Raspberry retires on 2/5. She has been up for quite awhile still unsure how this seasonal vendor stuff works? That makes 3 now including Filbert Figg is there any communication how many vendors there will be and how this all works?
Another rotund hobbit squeaking up with a vote for Yuletide encore!
Harvestmath encore please.
I understand that Encores are supposed to be a "Surprise", and we don't get to know when or if they will happen. But is there any chance that you could at least let us know if: "No, it is not going to happen"? (Yule fest, 2 months later) ...I still have Alts in Frostbluff! {Brrrrr} =(
We currently do not have any encores scheduled.
It should also be noted that there is very little opportunity to squeeze them in.... not till summer, anyways.
We will have Spring Festival from March 19th through April 14th.
Then there is a weekend of Treasure Hunt April 16th through 21st.
Then there is the Anniversary Festival from April 22nd through May 20th...
With the Summer Festival starting on June 19th going through July 7th, the first possible window of a "encore" would be somewhere around May 25th through June 8th, a period of 2 weeks.
The above dates already mean that *Every Month* of March, April, May, June is secured to have at least 2 or more weeks of festival - give or take a few days (such as March). Squeezing in an encore of something in June is probably going to generate some festival overload.
So realistically, if we see an encore of anything..... it will likely be somewhere between Mid-July (after the Summer fest) and Late-September (before Harvestmath)
BUT.... that is without the Farmer's Faire being scheduled, currently not yet in the schedule.... AND without knowing how the Wedding of Arwen and Aragorn plans, which in interviews has been revealed as a yearly returning event.
I'm guessing that some of the Farmer's Faire quests will be rolled into the Harvestmath fest, and that the new "Wedding" festival will be held in its typical scheduled place, but it is too early to really tell. The Farmer's Faire is typically held in early September, and the fact that it is missing from the schedule.... is a sign they have plans with it, and it likely has to do with re-shuffling quests and things to accommodate for the Wedding Fest, or whatever it will be named. ;)
So based on the above, unless they squeeze in an encore in early June or late July, I think we probably won't see any encores this year.... I'm hoping for a "Yule in July" though. :D
Since I'm more of a visual person, I made this out of Cord's schedule. Sharing here just in case there are others who rather have the calendar represented graphically.
I'll try to keep it updated if changes come.

Based on the schedule as currently listed, will there be no Farmer's Faire this year?
You are correct - it isn't scheduled as yet. However, if you read through recent posts, there has been some discussion about this including the idea that it might be combined with Harvestmath. The addition of Arwen and Aragorn's marriage means that festival events are starting to fight with each other for time in the schedule.
This has also been raised in interviews with devs (see issues of The LOTRO Beacon for links), but as yet it is undecided. So you can rest assured that SSG have it in mind if not in calendar! :D
Very nice, but somewhat tricky to update as there are many changes to the schedule.
I am surprised that, although links to community calendars, but doesn't include an .ics file to make it easy for us to add these things to our own calendars. If that was available, it would give us an easy to update visual version. Any change of that Cord?
It's not on the list! I hope that's just an oversight, as that is one of my most favorite festivals . . . licking vegetables, chowing down on mushrooms, grabbing colorful eggses . . . :(:(:(
From what Cord has hinted in a few of his livestreams, they are considering a Festival "Merge" that would involve Farmer's Faire and Harvestmath. Maybe that is why.
bonjour, j'aimerais juste savoir quand il sera possible de faire le transfert de mes perso qui sont toujours sur le server Estel?
Agree! Those 2 events should not be fussed together. The plants animals & general mood of peopl & appearance of products, quests & rewards should be very different on both. Farmers faire is the start of farming season about planting & the birth of new creatures; all is fresh, young, soft green, colorful & lively. Harvestmath is the end of farming season about reaping the crops & preparing the sustent right before the winter; all is drier, older, dark colors & fading.
Farmers Faire is my single favorite event in 10 years of gaming.
Please do not take it away.
Eeehhhh this makes me a bit nervous. I agree with the others that FF and Harvestmath festivals are different feels entirely and I'd prefer them separate. The other thing that comes to mind is that they both run for a good long time...if you merge them does that mean you shorten the overall time? Cause that would totally suck.
I adore FF and Harvestmath, they're my 2 favs along with Yule. I really hesitate at the idea to merge them. But without any further details its hard to know how you would even do this and maintain each ones individualism?
I'd prefer no merge, please. Since for now (to me) that means:
A)Shorter fest time period
B)A complete loss of the unique DIFFERENT feels of each fest.

This.
Why change something that so many enjoy as it is already? I swear, sometimes it feels like this game insists on "revamping" so many aspects that DO NOT need a "revamp". And yet they leave countless aspects of the game that desperately DO need fixing/altering, exactly as they are for years!
Something is just so backwards in this approach.
It looks to me there is plenty of time in July and August for the Arwen festival.
If not, why not extend the harvest fest at least until November 10th. Then start Farmers on October 1st. We could have a 40 day doublefestivalooza!
Hi there Flogdir! It's just an Excel sheet that I filled with Cord's info :) I converted it to PDF and after that, I took screenies with Snipping Tool to post here the JPG.'s (link to my Drive)
Better decrease amount of Hobnanigans or revamp it. People don't care about it, but many players love Farmer's Faire
Or just completely remove Hobnanigans from the monthly events & make it a daily quest that is available all year long. While we are at it, revamp it the right way, make it instanced & scalable with a new solo version included. Also the devs really got wrong the cost of hobnanigans bartered rewards. It is so high & with the token acquition per hour so low, that most people don't care to try get the cheapest white chicken pet, less say the other more expensive rewards.
Just wanted to agree with those who said Farmer's Fair has the best quests/mini games, I wish the Fall Festival (and honestly every festival) managed to have mini-games that are somehow not only fun, but good for earning new items and LI items, as well as actually fit the theme of the event.
Fall Festival for example would be a lot more enjoyable to me if it was about the end of the farming season and we had some games where we compete among each other to do it, and once the produce is all done we could forage for nuts under trees in a way where you basically re-skin the mushroom hunt without the hallucinogens.
I really hope there's some new games and easier ways to upgrade our Legendary Items in the 13th anniversary event, the only things I still enjoy from that event is trying to get cosmetic pets from Cord and the GMs, and bashing people in Thorin's Hall.
There is plenty to do at Farmers' Faire and plenty to do at Harvestmath. Please DO NOT "merge" them. Running them one after the other, or with a couple of days (no more) overlap, I could accept (though I'd prefer some separation, like has been done for years now). I certainly don't understand how merging them improves support. That is so vague as to be meaningless. I also note, Cordovan, you DO NOT say they WON'T be merged. You don't give a date for the Farmers' Faire, when you already have dates for Harvestmath and for Yule. This tells me, based on previous experience, that you all are determined to go ahead and merge FF.
Please don't merge any festivals! There is already a big grind to get the steeds and other stuff for those of us with many characters, I can't grind two festivals at the same time, there just isn't enough hours in the day, especially with the high token prices and all the warsteed stuff that are priced like if every little piece was a complete steed, and also that all the clothes and stuff are bound-to-account nowadays so we have to get double if we have characters on more than one account, and very very expensive pets too.
I don't mind shorter festivals IF the prices are lowered a LOT so that we can still get all the items, even if we have many characters needing the steeds. I made all my many characters many years ago when we were still encouraged to make many characters, and all my main ones have collected steeds since I started playing and it would break my hard to not be able to have a complete collection.
There really isn't a need to have festivals going every day year-round. Now it feels more special when it's not a festival, since event-free days are so rare now. Maybe you could shorten the festivals this year if you need to fit in something else, and make sure to look over the token prices for that year and make everything a lot less expensive?
Anniversary tommorrow, any news? Discounts, gifts, servers goes off for prepearing event?
This!
Token prices are way too high with many festivals. The bound-to-account cosmetics have made me almost stop going after those completely. I have way less time to play and I rather spend my time on tokens for things more chars of mine and other players can enjoy, like housing items.
By the way:
Adding the housing items from Hobnanigans to the Buried Treasures event was nice. Hobnanigans is a pain in its actual form.
Seconding!! I'm eager to hear about this. I wonder if it's going to get delayed or there's gonna be downtime & a patch (tomorrow? thursday?)
I'm like
https://i.redd.it/a8q36om2lo601.gif
Time to get those Gollum masks!
Due to an issue that came up today, we are now intending to release Update 26 on Thursday. This means we are also pushing the Anniversary Event and Anniversary Gift start date by a day to:
Anniversary Event 4/23/20@10am 5/21/20@3am 13th Anniversary Gift 4/23/20@10am 4/1/21@3am
The Anniversary Event's end date has also been shifted by a day. Thanks!
Also, thought you guys hired an event manager or some sort like that months and months ago or were at least trying to do that which was said on Cord of the Rings. If you did hire someone it does not seem like they are doing their job well enough cause these dates aren't adding up right. For example: The raid coming out on a Wednesday and not a Thursday was bad. Progression title ending on a Sunday and not a Thursday. A major class change coming out 4 days before progression title ends. If you did not hire someone you should probably get one ASAP please because this is very frustrating.
The Events schedule has been updated to match our current schedule. Quick note that the +10% Embers and Motes bonus listed earlier for this weekend is actually +25%.
It still does
Can we extend anniversary? There are lots of people online and I'm having a bast this anni. If not, that's ok, just consider it maybe.
Cheers
I vote for Anniversary Encore.
IMHO anniversary already too long to have any encore and don't mess with other events. Most of players what I know already done everything what they want with that event. The only one thing what needs more time is scavenger hunt, because if you have valared character, you need complete huge amount of epic quests to complete hunt
I and many truly love the Farmer's Faire. It's the one festival that feels and demonstrates a following of the Lord of the Rings Lore, more than any of the other festivals. This festival lets us feel that kindred spirit of friendship and fun with the hobbits of the Shire as they prepare for and enjoy and typical Shire party. The first time I played this festival I had such a great time participating in the hobbits' antics and Shire "life". Please keep it intact. LOTRO needs to protect the integrity of the homage to the books within the gameplay.
There is no mention of encores for the faire events. Will you please do encores for them? I'm looking for the Anni encore atm.
How do you do this!? " the only things I still enjoy from that event is trying to get cosmetic pets from Cord and the GMs,"???
Thank you!!
Because of ppl coming back to game because of special, I see a lot of chatter in world of ppl want repeat seasonal event to get dances. I also need dances...waiting till mid June...so hard, so hard lol. Thanks for your consideration..
Play on
Will any event start tomorrow?
Quick Update: The Summer Festival has been rescheduled, and will run at the same time as the Farmer's Faire. The timing will be: 8/20/20@10am Eastern to 9/7/20@3am eastern. Exact timing subject to change, but that's where it sits currently.
Not necessarily messy since they are both in Hobbinton but most certainly time consuming. I hope they run longer because it will take twice as much time per character to finish them. I rather have the Farmers Faire and Fall Festival together though since I rarely do the last. But that is just personal preference. Best would be to have them separate even if they run back to back.
That's going to be exhausting for those of us that like to do every festival activity every day. The multiple fishing quests for the Summer festival alone last 20 minutes each, requiring over an hour to complete them. Also, will each festival-specific horse race be running during this?
From what I recall on the livestream, one reason was they have not had enough time to work on new things for the summer festival. Probably a good chance the craziness of the past few months is a big factor.
Also, it did not seem like this would be a permanent change in schedule, so my hope is that summer will be back around where it used to be for 2021. Especially since the end of August and beginning of September tend to be times I can't get in there to play as much.
Please adapt the item costs to the situation, running both festivals at the same time is a bad thing for collectors like me. Normally i play each festival with all my alts and if both run at the same time and the item cost is not halved, no way to get all new things for my characters...
Sergio :-)
While I get that, about costs adjusted, I'd love to see it too... there's also the fact that they won't be adding anything new for Farmers Faire. And I guess they'll be separate wrapper quests, but unless you're missing something from FF, I don't think the "grind" will be there.
REALLY dislike this idea. I never post on the forums. Between the time consuming eating/drinking races and fishing from Summer and the multitude of Mushroom/Egg/Fishing deeds from FF this is gonna be a pain for altoholics given only the same amount of time. Also, I assume this means less horses, cosmetics, and housing decorations? :'(
thought summer stuff begins around the 21st of june :(
I can't begin to express how frustrating this is. Summer is my favorite festival and a good deal about my current excitement in playing the game was knowing that it would only be a few weeks until Summer Fest. now, not only is it months away, it isn't even being given it's own time? especially since the hobbit fest areas aren't layered so with only 1 set of fest quests, the area is beyond laggy. (PLEASE PLEASE layer the hobbit fest areas please)
I understand that you are planning a big event this summer for the wedding and all but does it really need to step on already established events to work?
I really hope the Inn League/Ale Association quests are available during the combined festival. I know they aren't around for the FF or anniversary, and I just worry the fact that FF is included might somehow make them disappear. Having them up would certainly make dealing with two festivals much easier.
Yes, its confirmed. Cord stated it in his stream 2 weeks ago.
And in case SSG didn't see my post on the thread about this Im going to post it here.
"I REALLLYYYYY dislike this change. I mean...I effin hate it.
There's no festivals at all for ELEVEN weeks in June and July/Aug...so you're telling me the Wedding is ELEVEN weeks long?? So long that Summerfest just must be at the same time as Farmers Faire? Come on.
Or is this more a, "we dont have the resources (cause wedding) so we're not actually done the new summerfest rewards, and nothing is ready," scenario. Fine, so then move it to the end of July, or beginning of August. Not at the freaking exact Farmers Faire time!
Cord mentioned 2 streams ago that there'll be no new FF rewards this year, so basically you guys are just ditching Farmers Faire entirely and are trying to let us off easy. PLEASE please please dont! You know how many people grind festivals, I know you do. Doing this just...nope. I have a hard time believing that in the 11 weeks between now and FF - you cant find TWO for summerfest. FF is one of the best, easiest ways to get fest tokens, if you have to ditch something, ditch Spring fest where the quests reward a pithy 1 token each.
At least if this situation is because of lack of resources, please tell me this is just for this year only (since next year the wedding wont need to be completely created from scratch, only turned on) and will be changed back next year. Please...as a fest addict this hurts my soul :P"
-Ods
Even though it's the same activity, the horse races are festival-specific and give out festival tokens. Hopefully, both versions will be active, allowing players to earn the tokens from each one.
Also, it's understandable that the Farmer's Faire won't have any new festival rewards, but maybe SSG can at least make something as simple as some new titles, or make older festival steeds that are currently purchasable for mithril available to earn for festival tokens. That would give some incentive to participate in it.
I understand a lot going on with the free event, but changing the date in this manner messes up so much. As mentioned above and so many of us want the dances. Bad idea and if theres any way you can re -adjust, please do.
