What would keep you from continuing to play there?

Why do that? Simply initiate the transfer when you log off and are done with your play session today, then kin members follow tomorrow, gives a good amount of buffer time and no playtime lost.
There might not be any problems depending on conditions, but it's not recommended to do all at once. Do kin leader with shared account items and house owner(s) first, then follow with a second transfer of remaining characters with shared items again. This way there isn't a risk of folks falling out of kin by arriving before the kin does, and less risk of bound items not finding their way back to the proper characters that have already left the server.
[QUOTE=Screemer;7453424]Personally I think that Turbine need to learn there are people outside the US playing this game..:([/QUUTE]
They open up transfers during their office hours so they can properly monitor the transfers. Something went wrong with Riddermark last week, and they were there to notice it, fix it, and bring it back online within the hour. They don't have the personnel to have fully staffed shifts for all time zones. Also, be grateful that EU servers are on Monday. On the US they will have to wait till Tuesday for the next transfer. ;)
Well, if you are worried about that, or if your computer does not contain any other games to play while you wait, you could consider starting the transfer at your midnight, or whenever it is you usually go to bed. Then, get up 15 minutes earlier the next morning, log on again, and transfer anything else you need to transfer. Then the transfers happen when you sleep, or when you go to work or school.Quote:
I loose allot of gaming time since I have to move my main who is kin leader first of all. Meaning up to 6 our no gaming tonight..:(
But thanks for your input Vovo.:)
Also, it seems that transfers have sped up. They may have allocated more resources, and splitting up EU servers and US servers by one day probably has helped a lot. It seems that transfers don't take 6 hours anymore, but more like 1 hour at most. So do it when you have your dinner. :)
Never mind me, I am just eager to be done.. And scared that some kinnies might jump ship before I am done..
I hope all will be fine and that the resources on the new server will make the game more fun to play again.. Also LOTS more people to interact with..:)
Anyone know if lag is bad and so on in the remaining worlds?
FYI: I just initialized my first transfer.. Main + shared storage + houseinventory + kinhouse inventory I guess is in cyberspace..
Congrats on your transfer :)
My plan was to transfer the kinship leader + shared storage FIRST THING so my kinship would be recreated and my kinnies would be able to transfer. It finished in 2 minutes because I was one of the first ones to do it.
I don't know about the lag on your destination world, but Evernight seems to have very similar login numbers to Brandywine.
Where to transfer from Dwarrowdelf? Landy perhaps? I like moors and PvMP. Please help! Thanks :-)
Since Vyvyanne hasn't announced it yet....
Firefoot transfers are NOW OPEN! Good luck!
Both Eldar (opened yesterday) and Firefoot are now open for transfers to the remaining worlds!
Transferred my toon from Firefoot to Arkenstone no problem!! Do have a question however --
I currently made 4 toons on Arkenstone as "placeholders" for my current toons on Windfola -- When it comes time to transfer over, can I simply transfer my Windfola toons over, delete the "placeholders" on Ark, then rename my Windfola toons to original names without the -1??
Yes. I just did so for all my high level toons:
Copied my characters. They all had corresponding placeholders on the destination server. So I got 10 pairs of lvl1 characters with "name" and lvl100 with "name-1". One by one I was deleting a "placeholder", logging the corresponding "name-1" and renaming it with the free token.
It takes some time but I like the feeling of safety which comes with it.
Yes - there's less chance of losing the name the way you describe than if you were to delete the placeholder first and then transfer. The name availability after you delete a character is immediate, and the transfer may not be -- although my transfers from Eldar yesterday were finished even before I got my mail open to watch for the confirmation!
There's still a tiny window of vulnerability - if you have a popular name you could minimize it further by waiting until the land rush is complete and doing the deletion/rename at an off hour, but I haven't bothered with that.
Transferred my Kinship leader with shared data from Firefoot to Landroval today, got the email saying transfer was completed successfully. My concern is that now the escrow broker (Landroval) refuses to acknowledge my existence. Does anyone know if this is just a lag in transfer or do I need to submit a ticket? Thanks!
Have not been playing for a while, several months, and logged on to find out about all the transfers going on. Currently I play on Landroval but I really really wanted to transfer to Laurelin, but I'm not sure I can anymore. I did try to use the Transfer feature from the launch application but nothing happens. Does this mean I'm out of luck?
Thank you kindly for your replies
Transfers between Landroval (a US server) and Laurelin (an EU one) haven't been and -per official word- will not be possible, sorry :(
hi - if riddermark went 9/29, and firefoot 10/6, can one assume that nimrodel will go 10/13, windfola 10/20, and imladris 10/27?
Well they sit there now, because I play on a couple NA servers. Consolidating to 2 servers from the 9 that had toons on them.
Before you ask, most of the toons on the other servers belonged to my kids, but they since moved on to their own accounts or play other games.
Even when the kids were not playing I would login to all the servers once a week for the hobbit gifts (gold and silver) to benefit their toons.
I will most likely delete the toons I can not transfer to the 2 servers I am consolidating toons to.
It will waste hundreds of mithiril coins, hundreds of gold coins and so on, but it will keep me from being tempted to login on them thus saving me time.
