Any class but a burglar, referring to a burglar.
Gosh darn it, I was sure it was a burglar.
The only other thing I've got so far is Oedipus and the Sphinx, but that really doesn't seem like the right answer. xD
Haha, yeah, every time I try to come up with anything lore-related my mind screams "burglar" at me. xD
What about "other folk besides hobbits ask riddles."
Haha, awesome riddle. It seriously should not have taken me that long to get it, though. xD
I swore once never to return
And from that oath came long years of sorrow.
But as time passed, I changed my mind
And with a sigh, came forth once more.
Galadriel.
Not what I was thinking, no.
Kinda a long shot but...
The dead-men that aragorn recruited for the Battle of the Pelennor Fields?
No. It's before Lord of the Rings.
Turgon perhaps?
You're getting closer, but no.
Turin maybe?
*sigh* Not Turin.
Finrod perhaps?
Uhm...which Finrod?
No.
(And yes, you did get the spelling right. :D)
was it the other Finrod then? (I'm out of ideas by now, just guessing)
No, but now you're getting into the right story. :D
I'm stumped, I assume there are 2 Finrods since you say there are, but I have no recollection of who this other Finrod was or what he did.
Finrod was originally the name of Finarfin, and that was the name used for him in most of the histories.
Would you like a hint?
yeah

Okay, uhm........what to say, what to say?
I was the first of my family to die
Yet no one seems to remember.
See if that helps.
