LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 May 12)
The Dwalin, Balin, & Moore LOTRO Lottery Commission are constantly monitoring the lottery system and your feedback. Below are the known issues, feature requests, and comments we can make about them as of 2010 May 12.
Known Issues
Session Characters
Currently, session play characters (those with a ~ in front of their names) can register for lotteries. Again...
Transferred Characters
This is a known issue in the my.lotro.com system where transferred characters are overly sentimental about their first home. You should not sign up characters for lotteries unless they are listed in the world they currently reside; we will be unable to deliver prizes to them. We are working on the underlying issue.
Monster Play Characters
Monster play characters are currently able to enter the lotteries and win. This is not working as intended. Creep characters should not be able to enter lotteries. We are unable to award any winnings in the event your creep character should win.
The lottery is here, but not there?!
There is a disparity on what lotteries are seen via the widget on your player page and what you see in the "Lotteries" tab on your character pages. The character pages are being naughty and showing off upcoming lotteries before they actually start. The player page widget gets a beer for respecting dwarven secrets.
Feature Requests
Reverse order of winnings list
The list of lotteries won should be sorted in reverse -- recent winnings on top.
Show the time of the lottery in current entry list
When displaying what lotteries you are currently entered into, the time should be displayed so you can tell when to check back and see if you won.
Smaller is better
The list of lotteries you've won for the very lucky has grown wild and unruly. Either trim the list down entirely or provide a small set on the widget with a link to a full page view of all winning entries, ideally paginated.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
How about a way to filter off characters we don't actively play? For example, I started toons on other servers to get a feel before I chose Landroval. On the character page, have a check box that when checked, makes that character eligible for the lottery. This way you don't have to go through a list like I did today of four different lotteries for lots of characters, most of which I don't play.

I have a lowbie character on another server that I don't play, but don't want to delete. So, if I enter them and they win something, it's taking away from someone else who actually does play on that server, while giving me nothing. That's why I wouldn't want to just enter all my characters. ;)
I still think the "select all" button will help though. I can select all, then untick 3 boxes, and I'll be good to go.
In conclusion, yay lotteries. :D

Maybe for folks who wanted to lock in names across all servers that don't play them all (yet). If they enter all of their many selves, it lowers their chances for the ones they play. (Now, if we could send mail from server to server, I bet they would be entering them all--not that I'm asking for that! I'm just expounding on a theory.)

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Just got notification of class lotteries today (3 Nov) on launcher. Logged on to forums, read announcement, but no widget in left hand column? What's the skinny? I don't qualify for the lottery? Hmmm.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Did you go to your page, or the main mylotro page?

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
When i click the "my LOTRO" button to go to the lottery, it says that the page redirecting has failed... and i have tried it on Safri, firefox, nd internet explorer... can anybody help me?
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
BIG issue. Characters that no longer exist showing up in selection list. If they get selected and win, items go into the ether, cheating out someone else who has a character. Please, remove deleted characters from the player database.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My wife has a char that she transferred from BW to LR and then back to BW and it is never eligible for Lottos still.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Probably not the only one (and admit I amnot sure where to post this actually, so please be kind).
I created a character named AHAZU
I had tried to make it to 20th level without dying (a number of times) to get the UNDYING title (more times than really worth it).
However on the last incarnation (which also died just before 20th), I decided to leave it as is and suck it up.
On the website when the lottery shows up, there are 2 versions of said character.. the current (or most current, now lvl 26) and the older version at 19th level.
My 19th level character won the lottery, but as I have no way to access a character from the past, I cannot claim the reward.
I did name the characters the same name each time I re-created the character (which I realize can make it absolutely confusing). I have only played on the Arkenstone server (which probably compounds the issue).
I am not sure what to do, or where to go to readily figure out the issue or how to resolve it.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
On one of my accounts for the lottery, there is a character listed that I do not own. On my second account, the player was anonomous to the community but was changed a week ago, however, it still shows the character as being anonomous for the lottery. Can you help me with both these issues please?

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My creep on Silverlode won the lottery on the 14th. can you set it so that the creeps can't be entered or at least remove them from the entry list so when I select all it won't include my creeps.
thank you
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
In the Winning Entries section, can it be sorted the other way around?
As is, it's sorted lowest date won to present.
I had a character win a Heavensday Lotto and didn't realize it for several weeks because I really just did not notice the scroll bar, and assumed it would be sorted with the most recent winning entry first on the list...
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Apparently it's a known issue that characters over level 60 cannot receive silver rewards (it doesn't know how to calculate 'level appropriate' silver amounts for characters 61-65).
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Well I have won the Highday Lotto on 12/14/09 and the Monday Lotto on 12/30/09 on my lvl 65 minstral. I did not recieve any silver as a lottery winner either time. I find it annoying that this has been going on as long as it has but you have not been able to fix it. 2 of my characters had won the lottery prior to this and he was level 60 and did recieve silver then for the "Daily lottery" and also the "Highday Lotto".
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My level 40 Man Warden Galthwayne on Landroval won the Highday Lottery on 12/28/09 but the only prize I received was 400S. Usually there are trait pots, mithril flakes, food, etc. Was this a mistake, or was I just unlucky?

I noticed that it only specified silver as the lotto reward on 12/28 so I think something went wrong with it, but you received what was offered.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Guess I can't complain then :) 400 silver is better than nothing!

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
I would like to thank you all for posting many of the problems that I have also had, and there fore will not repeat them as to be redunant. If someone would post whether or not it is helpfull to post the same problems as others have posted , then I will do that.
Have a great 2010 (is this the year we make contact? lol) and many fine years of game play to come!

When logged into MyLOTRO, click on the "My Profile" link at the top, then "My Characters" at the left. You'll see all of your characters with three check boxes for options on what to show.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Suggestion:
2 weeks after winning the lottery please remove the winning entry from the list if you havent picked up your items by then they are gone anyways.
With the new years ones I now have like 15 entries in the winning list and seems silly that winning from 10/27 is still listed as well.

I have done that and I have set the characters I use to public, but it still doesn't show up in the lottery page.

Known Issues
Monster Play and Session Characters
Currently, session play characters and monster play characters that have not logged in recently can register for lotteries. Neither have a way of receiving prizes -- creeps keep eating the postmen and using the mailboxes as clubs, while session play characters never leave a forwarding address. We have a complete fix pending for this, but you can remove your monster play characters from the sign-up list by simply logging into them.
Transferred Characters
This is a known issue in the my.lotro.com system where transferred characters are overly sentimental about their first home. You should not sign up characters for lotteries unless they are listed in the world they currently reside; we will be unable to deliver prizes to them. We are working on the underlying issue.
Feature Requests
D'oh! Just now noticed this update...thank you, Duwis!!
Any particular timeframe, perhaps, on when we might be able to know when our characters can be convinced that their new homes on their new servers are indeed, located in greener pastures? :D

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Feb 10)
Not certain where to ask this or even if I am being cheeky asking it, but its worth a try.
Now i just won a lottery, and got a bay steed, yippee!. I have 8 toons, 5 of whom have riding skill, so i decided to get them all different coloured steeds. So guess which one won the bay steed- yep murphys rule it was the one who already had a bay steed.
Is it possible to get this horse exchanged for a horse of a different colour. (Its joincee on arkenstone)
BTW it was my level 65 toon, and I got the silver , so that must be fixed.

Wish I could say Sapience Soon, but I don't honestly know right now. When I do, I'll pass the word along.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
Interestingly, I've never (not once) had a Creep show up on my lottery entry form... until today. I'm guessing that was a sacrifice in order to get lotteries up again? Good luck squishing all the bugs and getting the lotteries running as intended.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
So why can't my two Creeps get their Bullroarer day celebration items they legitimately won?
That's just not fair! I thought all the Freeps were about fairness and niceness. They should share. Sharing is caring and all that jazz. :)
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
When can we get the winning lotto entries sorted by most recent first?
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
So as I understand this......there's a limited number of prizes, but now all creeps can enter and "win" but not really, along with session play characters in some cases.
So am I wrong in thinking now a bunch of people are going to just click "select all" and submit entries for their ineligibles, that may win and thus have a chance to have some of the limited number of prizes go nowhere?
I'm just confused because I thought the whole reason lotto was taken down was because a solution to prevent ineligibles needed to be found. But instead its been brought back and with the added feature that everybody's ineligible is listed.
And yes, I know, its a free chance at free stuff, its better than nothing, I'm just puzzled at the odd "fix" in play here.

No the lotteries were taken down because a bug effectively prevented everyone (all characters) from entering. That issue was resolved today.
All issues that existed before the lotteries were canceled still exist. The goal was to fix the larger issue created by the last update (no one could enter).
In resolving that issue, two issues (Session characters and monster play characters) that were previously resolved have reappeared.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
You know... you could resolve the problem of creeps not being able to receive gifts by just giving them mailboxes. ;)

ah ha, I'm on board now. So at least we have lotto up and available, although players need to show consideration when entering (for themselves and others) so as to not dilute the pool with the ineligible characters.
Thanks for the clarification Sapience, I figured there was method to the madness.

More like a fix in progress, they are still working on it and have told us which characters are the problem.
I clicked the "select all" button but a quick glance down the list told me I had no ineligible characters. If I had found one I would have unclicked that one box. Easy enough until it's totally fixed and it got the lotteries back to us sooner.
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
Should have waited to turn the lotteries back on...
When you fix something and break two other things in the process, and you are aware that you broke them, then you never really fixed it did you?
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
Sapience posted that the only thing that was fixed was the fact that the lottery was down for everyone, Nothing that was previously broken has been rectified.
I will hypothesize why the lottery system has bugs, in no way can I say this information is what is actually going on.
Sometimes I wonder if people understand the complexities of linking data over multiple databases especially when one programs coding for log in is different from another, add into that the fact that you have a log in for the game that has to be linked to the game for the characters. The characters aren't linked to your forum log in directly. So you have a character on a server db, that is linked to your turbine login db, which is linked to your forum log in db, which in turn has to be able to submit those characters to a program db that runs the lottery. So you have basically 4 databases that are linked together to allow you to enter a lottery.
Now you have to create a new category, if there isn't one that determines the type of character, on the game server as a sync occurs. Next you'll have to have that same filter on the my.lotro end to make sure those non-eligible characters are screened when you click on the enter lotteries button.
As for character transfers, thats an interesting issue, the question becomes, why if a character is deleted are they still showing up. Are the characters being pulled from a backup copy being stored somewhere. I will assume, i hate to but since i have no actual information on how this works, that characters have a back up copy. And that copy is left on a server during a server transfer. How much time are we dealing with between a transfer and its deletion, and is the back up copy being deleted as well. This might account for old or deleted characters still existing.
Please give the programmers a break, so many people complained about not being able to enter it while it was down, they are doing their best to fix the issue. Some will be inconvenienced, but those that can enter should look carefully at who they are submitting to the lottery in the mean time.
Thank you Sapience and Duwis, and good luck closing those loopholes, as an ex-dbase programmer I know how easy it is to look at the same code day after day trying to isolate a line or even a word in tens of thousands of code to identify an error, and even after identifying it, figuring out how to reword that code can drive you mad.;)

That makes me a sad defiler :( I won the Bullroarer Day Lotto not once, but twice, and that 1400s would sure be nice ;)
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
I was unaware of the session character bug when I entered the lotto today. I saw my name in my winner list, but it has the ~ in front of it (~Amethrayne). So, based on the original post on this thread it looks like that's a session character. I did try logging into my player of that name, and there were no prizes. Also, when I click the link for the "winner" in my list it takes me to a character with no data. That really stinks! It was the first lotto my main character ever won, and it wasn't really my main after all. If I'd realized, I would have looked at the list more carefully and not selected all (even though leaving the pop-up window open for more than a second usually crashes my browser). It looks like that same session character got entered into another of the 2-hour lottos today today too, but I'll try to make sure not to enter her again.
Thanks for getting them back up. I sure did miss the lotto while it was down! I know you'll get the bugs fixed when you can.

OK people, it's a known issue. Provided all characters can enter, they fixed the main problem.
Session players and Creeps get to enter lotteries they can't collect and it's a KNOWN ISSUE. So let them do their thing - it's not hurting anyone ;)
Personally, I think my grandson will think it super-cool next time he visits and finds at least TWO of his creeps have little mail symbols. I may not tell him and let him run around the moors dying trying to find a mailbox lol
Thanks for all the clear notifications Sapience and Duwis. Nice to see the return was posted on the news panel on log in for which thanks :)

But can't find a mail box. Boo. :p So am stuck with the notice. :(
I send an in game report, but they told me to go to the "Forum Support". Is this correct?

As noted many times, this is a bug. We're aware of it. It's in the known issues. Creeps are not supposed to be able to enter or win the lotteries. The notification will go away when the mail expires (in about 2 weeks).

Thank you.
It just drives me nuts seeing that icon there. I always have to empty my mail as quick as I can. I was hoping that a GM could remove it, but they said to come here, which seemed odd.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
Amusingly, today the only character who is on my list to enter the lottery is my Weaver. o_O
Although I'm sure she'd love to eat the Springfest mount if she won it, I imagine she'd find it frustrating when she learned that the Quickpost stopped running to Mt Gram after so many hobbits went missing.
(I hope this is the right thread to post in. Just wanted to let you know.)

Ditto...my Warg is my ONLY character that can sign up for today's horse lotto. I thought it might be left over from the one I signed up for last night, but if that were the case the other characters I don't enter in that one would be on the list.
Ah, the fun of programming!
EDIT: Well...there's progress...now not even my Warg can enter, lol.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 16)
Not only are the only eligible characters showing for the lotteries are two of my Creeps (a Warleader and a Weaver; my other Creeps don't show up)... but it shows two of my characters who have never won lotteries before won Springfest Steeds.
Sadly, when I went to claim the prize, their mailboxes were empty. :(
Is it possible the system tried to reward me while the servers were down? This is saddening.

Me too
I won the horse but got nothing in the mail - I am assuming it was because the servers were down when the lotto ended :(
Very unhappy

I won the horse but got nothing in the mail - I am assuming it was because the servers were down when the lotto ended :(
Very unhappy
Same thing here....

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
Feature Request:
Hey Duwis, any chance we can get a paged month view of our Lotto winnings? Meaning all my characters who won in March will only be shown as default, and there'll be a page button to browse through previous months (or a 'View Full List' button). This wasn't a problem before (though it would have been in the future), but with all these 2 hour lottos lately it's hard to find the current winners when the window only shows two names. Also, I've been noticing a little bit of lag lately when scrolling through all the names (to get to the bottom), which the month to month view would help with.
Thanks.

Sadly, when I went to claim the prize, their mailboxes were empty. :(
Is it possible the system tried to reward me while the servers were down? This is saddening.
I have a lot of winning entries showing today at my.lotro.com and nothing in the mail as well. One of my characters had won a horse too :/ Do we have word of a fix?

The spring themed lotteries have ended for now, but may make a come back at some point prior to the end of the Spring Festival.
So I got all happy that I finally won the horse, only to find out that I not only didn't win the horse, but I CAN'T win the horse from here on out. Very sad.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
it happens
I will mention a minor flaw here that I am seeing on my.lotro.com page. Can anyone confirm this? When I scroll down in the lottery section under my entries and winning entries, it seems that part of the entry is cut off. Sometimes its just the date, sometimes even the name of the entrant is obscured. Has anyone else noticed this? Since its only a cosmetic issue, I'm not planning on bugging it since the devs working on the lotto are probably overwhelmed with much more important programming issues. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this or it just has to do with my interface.

Yes, I've noticed this as well. I figured Turbine just wasn't officially supporting IE8 yet and that was causing it. I wonder, are they officially supporting IE8 yet?

It does kind of defeat the purpose of "submit all" to some extent, I guess, but until the problem is resolved it is the best way to pull creeps etal out of the pool. :)

Bummer. Well, if it makes you feel any better, I won several mounts. Two and three on some of my characters. They made for nice vendor trash :)
Now, if we had a chance to win the Roan Mount, I would not have taken the coin. But the spring one......meh.

Wonder no longer; we do support IE8. There is an oddity with the scrolling box JavaScript and how/when it does its magic. Typically, a refresh will display the whole set of elements, but that is not what we want as a user experience. That whole widget is being given the eye for an overhaul to address this and other issues/requests.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
I am also having a problem looking at who won the lottery recently because of the number of wins from the every 2 hour Spring is Sprung lotteries. Basically, I think I noticed they had started before most other players and so I won over 100 times according to my count.
Because of the display widget trying to display ALL wins, the scroll bar button gets to be so small that it is invisible. This makes it almost impossible to grab so that I can scroll to the bottom of the list and see if I have won anything recently.
We need an option to limit the number of entries initially displayed so as to be able to see what is there. 2 possible options include:
1 - Limited number of wins shown in the box
2 - Change the sort to descending on a date/time basis ignoring lottery name in the sort order
My personal preference would be to see both implemented, but either would make it easier to view recent wins over all wins.

I won on some of the spring lotteries X3, but no mail when I logged in, though the april fool one appeared straight away.

Cool, this is basically what I was just coming to the forums to say. But I was thinking maybe a month out, so you could tell people how many you've won in the past month and be a jerk ;) That or so you can yell at yourself for forgetting to pick up the relic boxes that your level 1 noob won :D
Also, maybe have the most current wins on the sidebar but with a link at the bottom to "view all winning entries" and have that open on a new page? That's more on my "nice to have" list though.

My main character is displayed under "Winning Entries", but I have not received any mail. This is my first lottery win, and I'm quite new to the game, so I'm not sure how to go about this. Is it really bugged like a lot of people are experiencing?
EDIT: This is for the "Spring is Flung" lottery.

Yes, please, as soon as humanly possible on these. :) I really love the lotteries, I really really do! However, it is becoming a pain to see which characters won and I am getting really tired of the alternative, which is logging in every character just to see if they have mail.
Parhaps as well, add a "New mail" icon to the character listing that only the player themselves can see for their characters?
As well, please add an option to "only show winnings for the last [#] days."
Thank you for the lotteries, I really enjoy them, there just needs to be some sort of update soon for there hasn't been one that I noticed since I returned to lotro and that is looking discouraging to me.

Perhaps a silly question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere:
What does it cost to enter the lotteries?

Roughly 30 seconds of your time. There is no cost. As long as you have an active subscription you can enter them.

Weee-eeelll then...
:)
I thought it would be like 10 silver or something.
On another point then, I entered a lottery and hit the select all when my characters came up, but only 4 of my 7 characters were listed as entered. How do I determine what the elidgability parameters are? Or should I just not worry about it and just go with whatever characters show up?
Incidentally, I didn't win anything on any of the characters and I presume the lottery is done since it had a cut off time of 12:20PM EST.

Monster players cannot claim lottery prizes, as they have no mailbox to pick them up from.

The Symbol of Celebrimbor lotto only seems to be an option for my monster player charries on Silverlode, which is ironic, considering that they have no mailbox. :D My lvl 60 & 62 freeps aren't showing up on the list for that lotto, at all. Not sure if that's right or not, but thought I'd throw it up in here anyway.
Only chance to get the symbol for someone like me, too...now am bummed. LOL!

The Symbol lotto is only for level 65s.

Monster Play Characters
Monster play characters are currently able to enter the lotteries and win. This is not working as intended. Creep characters should not be able to enter lotteries. We are unable to award any winnings in the event your creep character should win.
You could of course just add a mailbox to the creep starting pits... call it a trash heap or something.
Its not really fair that you guys make it so creeps can win, but then go "oh well, creeps arent supposed to be able to do the lotteries anyway."

I like this and have always found it odd that MP has never had Mail. What is the reasoning for this?
Also, could we pretty please get an update to my.lotro.com sometime soon in regards to at the very very least:
1) Displaying Lotteries in reverse order of win date (and having them show in proper order, my winning dates are all over the place in regards to date, so confusing).
2) Being able to set it to: "Show winnings for the last [#] only" - [#] being a selectable number, choices: "24 Hours, 2 Days, 3 Days, 4 Days, 5 Days, 6 Days, Last Week, Last Two Weeks, and All Entries"
I haven't seen any update that I have noticed to my.lotro.com since I have returned to LotRO. As well, I have yet to even heard back about my issue with not being able to edit my kinship page or even find it as well as being unable to edit my lorebook pages. I've filed two tickets now on it and posted on it.
Thanks! Loving these lotteries and My.Lotro.com, just wish we could see some fixes and updates soon. :)
Keep up the good work and hope you're able to find the time for updates!

Feature Requests
Reverse order of winnings list

Show the time of the lottery in current entry list
When displaying what lotteries you are currently entered into, the time should be displayed so you can tell when to check back and see if you won.
Feature request:
Put a mailbox in Gramsfoot and let creeps access mail and collect their winnings.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
Hmmm, could you maybe put the link to entering the lotteries somewhere that is actually findable? I've just spent a good 20 minutes trying to find a way to enter the lotteries that are featured as a news item on my log-in screen, without any success whatsoever! Maybe a "Lottery Tracking System" like the one in-game for quests?
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
to access the LOTTO entry, you can go to your own personal page:
www.my.lotro.com/yournamehere
(YOURNAMEHERE is the name you used to set up your profile)
There will be a button on the Left hand side that you can click that will bring up any Lotteries that are available

This has bugged me for a while, too. My creep has won the lotteries numerous times.
AND I just realise that I accidentally entered him into the Celebrimbor lottery. If he, like I'm sure many other creeps, wins the lottery, that's taking the chance of getting the symbol away from all other people, including my main lvl 65 freep.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
Not all available lotteries show up when you click the Enter To Win button on your mylotro main page. I have to go through all my characters and enter the lotteries individually. Not a big thing, but an Enter To Win Button that is supposed to bring up all available lotteries should do exactly that.

The Enter To Win Button brings up all "Active" Lotteries. When you go to the character screen it brings up all "Active" and upcoming Lotteries, so going that way you get to get a jump start on the lottos.

Actually, you won 127 skirmish marks; there is an odd visual bug around mailing skirmish marks. No matter how large a stack you send via mail, the attachment icon only shows as a single mark. However, detaching the 'item' results in the appropriate amount of skirmish marks, always 127 for a lottery, being added to your inventory.
We've verified this six ways to Sunday, as we saw this behavior when we first tested sending marks via mail. As for why you get a stack of 127, those familiar with their computing fundamentals can hazard a guess. :)
-
Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
I also won 1 whole skirmish mark and no it wasn't a bug in that, it was ONE Veteran's skirmish mark that gave me a grand total of 30 skirmish marks! Wow, that is really lame
Also, I show a character that I don't own in my character panel. Kind of confusing as it has the name that I used to have before being renamed. Sort of irritating at the same time to know someone can run around with a name that I wasn't allowed to keep after a year of playing. sigh

Hehe.
As a person who, in the course of my studies, deals with 8-bit IP address octets and subnet masks all day... I think I just might know.
Well, except that I can't quite fathom why you didn't just take the extra bit and go to 255.

I'd really like to see this feature too, or some way of hiding older wins - with the recent token lotteries and my numerous alts (have all 9 slots filled with 1 of each class) there are too many wins to actually see things properly, also they are in a weird arbitrary order which doesn't help when trying to figure out if you've won something.
Having them sorted by last win would make things much easier, and maybe even something like "hide this entry" checkboxes would work - so we could hide token/welcome wagon wins and just show actual big lottery wins (if we have any).

EDIT: This is for the "Spring is Flung" lottery.
One of my toons (Maikeruu) also won this lottery "Spring is Sprung 03/29/2010" and also did not receive the prize. When I mentioned it in game, other players told me that if a lotto ran while the server was down for maintenance, you didn't get your prize.
Maybe this should also be listed on the known issues, since it's known to people in game, just not some of us posting here.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 Mar 29)
For those that won during the Spring Festival, there was a post somewhere from one of the devs notifying that there was a glitch during a patch. And those that had won in a specific lottery drawing had their emails lost and there was no way to get them back. They apologized but mentioned it wasn't possible to compensate the winners after the fact. Whether everyone or it was just arbitrary in who had their mail deleted, I can't remember.

This hint is misleading. I have discovered the true reason you picked the number 127.....
There are 127 species in the cuckoo bird family, including the road runner.
Now you know.
