Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
How it works:
From time to time we'll be asking you questions, and here in our thread, you tell us: What comes to mind; what you think; how you feel; etc, as it relates to the question(s) at hand.
Ground Rules:
Because we want this to be a place where we can gather valuable feedback from our community we're going to be a little tougher on the rules enforcement here. Please read both the Ground Rules and the Forum Guidelines posts before you do anything else. These will be strictly enforced.
Why do we sometimes ask you to limit your answers?
Because what we’re looking for are the top issues or absolute best answers you can give. Anyone can come up with a top ten list of things they’d like to see. Filling out a list is easy, but coming up with the most important issues or the things that really matter takes a bit more thought. Those are the responses we’re looking for.
Reminder: This is not a discussion thread. It is a Q&A. We ask questions, you give your answers. Multiple posts, editorials, debates/opinions about someone Else's answer, will be ignored or deleted.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The housing system, the way hooks were implemented was poorly thought out.
Either make the hooks positionable, and connect-able, or do away with them altogether.
I mean, I can't place a table with chairs to sit around. I can't have a painting on the wall, and a book shelf beneath it? I have yet to see a single house in this game that doesn't look fake due to how inflexible positioning is. I occasionally visit Bag End, I see how housing SHOULD look. A beautiful home, with a living room. Chairs around a small table with a rustic carpet beneath, sitting away in front of a cheerily blazing fireplace. Kitchens with ovens, and racks of pots and pans above them. Now, for housing, pick ONE of the things I listed, and that's what you can place in any one given area.
Remove hooks, or put in many more, and make them connect-able. For example, if I place a large dining room table, a number of small floor hooks should pop up around it so I can place chairs.
Alternatively, re-design the way houses are shaped. The interiors of deluxe + kin halls are so wide and spacious, the small number of hooks can't compete with the large space. Giving you empty rooms that look like a concert hall rather than my living room. (ESPECIALLY hobbit deluxe houses, this looks nothing like a shire home.)
When I first started playing, Lotro came across as a game that focused on more than just combat, and getting the next piece of amazing gear. It was a game focused on story line, friendship, and enjoying the world Tolkien created. Housing seems to be one of the best ways to do this, if only it was done properly.
On a final note, I'd also GREATLY appreciate if ALL housing items no matter where they came from ceased to be BoA. I can't afford the storage to cram all these BoA housing items into my main storage. Housing is a purely cosmetic part of the game, and quite frankly I fail to see how it is important to make sure players earned something that in all likelihood only they and a handful of friends are going to see. This is taking up an incredible amount of storage holding all these special housing items I don't use constantly.
In short, needs moar cowbell.
2.
It is unfair I cannot list radiance, as this is a sore point for many players. However, I would like to point out the treasure trove you guys have with all the old instances we know and love just waiting to be re-done and made accessible for various levels of difficulty. It is sad so many newer players cannot experience the great content from by-gone times. Perhaps making all these old instances into skirmishes, with the same rewards would be a good alternative!
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I would add a completely new combat system, after having played DDO and seen how well they implemented flexible combat with player skills + spells, Lotro feels so slow and restrictive. One feature I ESPECIALLY appreciated as a tank, was how you could body block enemy mobs. I feel like I'm being told not to do my job every time I place myself in front of my fellows and the monster literally walks through a dwarf wielding an axe, tower shield, and many pounds of heavy armor.
I understand this is not possible, but I think it would be good food for thought when considering the best way to improve the combat mechanic.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. Spending time at inns. Some of the inns (Especially the ones in the Shire) are beautifully designed. But they are always empty. I would like to see some incentive for players to visit and spend time at inns.
2 Fishing, its a good idea for a hobby. But it is very boring, and I get put to sleep every time I try. Perhaps more involved fishing, and more recipes involving what you catch. Like recipes that require a rare fish, so players have incentives to fish. Its all well and good for farmers to provide ingredients, and us to buy them off of vendors. But what about a king-sized Salmon meal?

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing - either more hooks and less strictness about where things can be placed or getting rid of the hook system all together (which would clearly be a lot more work). I have a lot of empty space in my house where I'd like to put things, but no hooks, or places where I'd like to put things, but I can't b/c the hook is the wrong size. A good example are yard hooks. I can place a picnic table, but I can't place a bench next to it to sit on?
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I don't feel like I'm knowledgeable enough about game mechanics to even weigh-in on this subject, as LOTRO is my first MMO.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. I rarely take time to participate in the Festivals because when I have time to play, I feel like I should be leveling my characters instead and playing catch up.
2. I wish I'd taken the time to learn instruments and ABC music as well because some really nice things have been done with it (shout out to The Fat Lute!)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
A: 1. The LFF tool. It needs to be more intuitive. It should be as easy to use as a skill on your skillbar.
2. Old raid instances should be scalable, so that higher level players can still enjoy them and receive usable rewards.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
A: A mentoring system, or henchmen that can be utilized in PvE like our skirmish soldiers.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
A:1. Live events.
2. Exploring new areas outside of the map we currently have (cause there aren't any new areas to explore :( )

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. UI - More customization, more user control.
2. Instances - EVERY adventure/cluster instance in the game should have a simple level scaling option.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
PvMP skirmishes
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. PvMP - I have several beloved Creeps, but I have far too little time to play them enough.
2. Raiding - I love doing it, but with an infant I just can't devote the time like I used to.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Mounts - would love to see a simple trait system whereby mounts could be improved (speed, durability, summoning time etc.)
2. Houses, specifically kinship houses. Would love to see a reason for people to get together in neighborhoods. Some kind of minor temporary buffs for gathering everyone together and doing something at the house. Something similar to Hayoo's old idea for Taverns: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=86442

Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I would like to see a system of unique drops for 3/6/12 man skirmishes. This way in DG instances you get tokens for armor and also drops, in skirmishes you get marks andn also rare drops. This would go a long way towards making them feel like "real" end game instances.
Quote:
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. Raiding - personal life restricts it to 1 or 2 nights a week
2. PvMP - usually free time is taken up doing things I feel like I "should do" like working on LIs even when I would sometimes rather just go out and blow some creeps up :)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Traits/Deeds - I think the overall #s need to be revised according to higher levels, and possibly making some traits that are lesser used enticed.
2. Customizing clothing/armour with a 2nd color dye option..
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Exploration/Artifact finding hobby, not like scholaring, but more like going out into various places in ME and digging, (maybe explosives for rock walls, etc) and finding valuables that are of real value (maybe 2nd age artifacts or weapons) etc..
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. PvMP - would like to spend more time doing that, but have barely any reason to do with current rewards, older boring fighting systems
2. I would like a reason to explore rather than finding 6 locations on a map for a deed. (See Q2 above)

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.cosmetics. include option to not show weapon and shield in cosmetic slots
2.housing. ideally, free form place anything anywhere like in the elder scrolls system
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
ability to expand the size (number of rooms)and number of hooks (trophy placement locations)of a house in the homesteds, and perhaps even an option to display weapons and armor. Getting totally carried away there could even be a closet or dresser for cosmetic clothes
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. fishing. Now that the cooked fish is nearly useless we could use some more options
2. music.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
question 1
revisit Housing, it looks great, but the hooks are just a pain in the glutius maximus
UI - I'd like some Turbine made skins, when ever I use player made skins they tend to ruin the way things are set.
question 2
change class progression from now on so that instead of just gaining new levels you can also choose to specialize in certain areas, for example: you like CC but don't like tactical classes like the LM, so you make a Hunter that can specialize in CC rather than damage, a person would gain points as he leveled, so he can spend them and make his character better at one of roles his class can preform
question 3
I'd like to spend more time on skirmishes, but sadly they are way too predictable, so it feels like I'm just grinding SMs.

2.
1. Besides the big 3 taboo subjects above, the other system that nobody seems to ever want to look at for improvements due to "time/development resource" restrictions.. HOUSING.
Briefly it needs a complete revamp, and the ideas have been plentiful in the forums over the years, no need to go into it further here.
2. See above, it's that important it needs to be suggested twice.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
1.UI
-add additional quickslot bars
-allow resizing of more windows i.e. crafting window vertical sizing, including seperator bar (I run at 1920x1080, and the restricting size is very annoying)
2.Revisit old raids/battles
-Make Rift/Helegrod raid scalable to group size/level
-Rework the Aughaire battles into tiered skirmishes...there are 3 battles, so make them gated and add tier levels (I would think that the gating applies to the tiers as well...so if you do the first skirmish at tier II you could run the second skirmish at tier I or II, but not III)...obviously there would be titles/deeds...Also, I think that all the private instances in Angmar could have skirmishes (CD, URU, and make a Circle of Fear tiered skirmish set)...Additionally, the rewards at the end of each skirmish would be determined by the tier/level.
Question 2
1.PVMP skirmishing - This would eliminate outside interference. This basic concept opens up many possibilities like: MP gear, raiding titles, BONUS INFAMY/RENOWN!!!, additional server wide bonuses, AND MP vs NPC skirmishes (which would go hand-in-hand with MP gear).
2.New hobbies
-Poker: There should be parlours in every inn (Buckland should have an inn, and a festival only location at each of the festival grounds). There would be regional/local titles i.e. Bree-land Cardmaster/Prancing Pokerist...you get the idea. There would be seperate deeds/titles for playing against NPC's only, and others for multiple player competitions.
-Insect collecting: This should be fairly simple, as all that would be needed would be unique, as well as many new, decorative mobs (like the 1 morale bugs, spiders, and snakes that roam every zone).
Question 3
1.Inn league questing - I know that the delivery quests will become repeatables, but there should be more accessibility to accruing rep.
2.Festivals - There's never enough time. Dailies should be done twice a day (semi-dalies). PLEASE add SWIFT travel points that WORK ONLY during the festivals.

1. I think you should upgrade the housing experience, right now it's just paying to have a house with empty spots all over it (where you could easily put a painting or chair), sucking you dry of money and only holding a few items, Improve it! Make the players want to have houses, let players auction houses off with items or not and make money off it, have some competition, let neighbors do stuff together.
2. Combat system Sometimes while doing a rotation you can have a 1 or 2 second gap between any skills, and it's kind of depressing seeing a dwarf champ standing there getting hit, I mean you could easily punch them in that time and accomplish more.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I'd make a system so you can measure your aggro with mobs, have a scale maybe or a fellowship scale to tell who has the most aggro and with what mobs.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.Festivals, there just really isn't much to do with them and the rewards are very repetitive, maybe make some rewards you could only get by grinding skirmish marks or something.
2. Crafting, it's boring to time consuming and it take's way to long to get to superior and actually make cash.
I put my answer's in the quote

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing. Housing housing housing. Give us a massive amount of items (See http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=160794), give us a more viable hook system, if not freeform. Just....give us some incentive to use, have, and decorate our houses. More neighborhoods, different tyles of buildings (Example: Elven RIvendell, Elven Lothlorien, Elven Lindon; Men Breestyle, Men Dalestyle, Men Rohanstyle; Hobbit Shire (Holes in ground), Hobbit Staddle (Houses above ground, etc) Just something!
2. I also think that you could do some polishing/rehaul on the playermodels, if that would count. Refine the face meshes, retexture the skin, eyes, hair, and add more hairstyle options. Incorporate some of the design choices from the npcs, namely the way their skin looks rather than the unicolor matte crayola thing we've got going in game. Oh, and fix the graphics glitch involving female breasts, please?

Or just hire Hayoo and get him to design a new gameplay mechanic. He's amazing.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in.
1. I would love to spend more time just doing fluffy stuff- music playing, fishing. Give me more hobbies, I suppose.
2.Exploring. I love just getting in the horse and riding through the BreeFields, or along the banks of the Anduin, or along the road in Lone Lands with Amon Sul in the background. It's epic. (Though, anything involving more elf stuff is a plus.)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1:
A) Housing. I think enough has been said in the forum about the needed rework, hooks, places to store souvineers, storage, and closer accesabilty to the major towns.
B) Fishing. I'm sorry, but it was more fun in "The other game". I think you should adapt alot of their ideas, and expand them.
Question 2:
A) I would go the route of adding a few social gaming mechanics similar to the farming game on facebook. It is the current rage could expand your player base.
Question 3:
A) Slayer deeds: I've done most of them, and now I have no desire to start another Alt and go through the process again.
B) End game raiding. Even in a large Kinship, it takes a lot of effort and time to pull off. Nature of the beast I guess. If raiding did not involve my favorite part of the game which is the socialization, I would not participate.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. HOUSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a zillion posts on the topic already!! PLEASE overhaul it and give us free-form placement and more creative house designs!
2. HOUSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Kin Community fun: Some form of tournament system (sparring amongst multiple players in teams) --- perhaps using that nice field up near the Bree Fields or limited to the homesteads-- so kinships could organize an event! Also some form of party event in the homesteads so you could have npcs or clickable party tables give away food, drinks, pipeweed that you provide.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Silly fluffy stuff - like chicken play
2. I love the festival stuff!

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Kinships. To me, the kinship is completely left up to us players to make work, roles defined...etc. The game offers little to nothing in assisting us in running a kinship.
Recruiting is limited to spamming global chat "Please join Uber Swords of Bree....blah". This is horrible.
Even facebook games (*ouch*) have better recruiting mechanics than this game.
I could give you some great tips on this, PM me if interested in refining this system and I'll share.
2. The hobby system.... key word expanded.
There are dozens of small little games you can add to this game.
e.g. dice games, card games, darts (yea, put a dart board in the prancing pony!)
END GAME REALLY REALLY needs something besides a new RAID, or PHAT LEWT!
Maybe end game for some players might envolve retiring from the meyham for a while and take up hanging out at social gatherings and PLAY some ingame, games...
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Put an (official) Arena in somewhere, where players could challenge one another and keep records... posting them on the billboards outside the arena...
You already have an arena in the game. The 21st hall... You might as well make a REAL one, where people can actually have a ladder to climb...
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
I can't answer this, because if there is something in the game I want to do, I make the time to do it.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Cosmetic weapons and shields. You could either have weapons and shield usable across the board as cosmetics, which would cause animation problems, or you could limit to the same item-type as the character is wielding as well, which would be fine. There is a lot of very cool looking weapon and shield models out there that hardly anyone use.
2. CJ's. I feel that an interface upgrade could encourage people to use them more, keep track of the more rare ones, and give the burgs some needed love in this area.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat  http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=325869
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Horse-races. The rest of the festival I could care less about.
2. PVMP. However the culture seems a bit exclusive, and the dominance of stealth based classes is off-putting.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. HOUSING!!! (a total overhaul including house design from the ground up would be amazing, but even a transition away from predefined hook based decoration would be great)
2. Crafting (make it more active and creative, and less passively watching your character strike an anvil for hours on end)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Ooh.. tough one. A new type of hobby system including multiplayer and VS AI games (board games, card games, etc.) would be cool but I'm not sure that qualifies as a new gameplay mechanic.
Maybe some sort of stance based or targeting based combat mechanic with the ability to aim strikes, knock down targets, etc.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Exploring (the focus is so much on character progression, questing, levelling, etc. that I don't find myself just exploring as often as I'd like given that there aren't really enough tangible rewards for doing so)
2. PvMP (there's a part of me that wants to PvMP, on both sides of the war, but I never do it for various reasons such as lack of experience, more desire to simply keep building my characters or not seeing much tangible reward to heading to the Moors)

1. LFF system - Make it more comprehensive.
- Allow you to flag any quest that you are looking for a group on any char
- Allow someone that is trying to form a group to indicate that they want to use the LFF system
- The LFF system would then notify anyone that has flagged that quest on any one of their chars (regardless of which char they currently have logged on).
- They could then contact the person organizing the quest and see if they can use the char they have that needs the quest. If so then they could switch to that char and join the fellowship.
- This could hopefully also be used to form groups for skirms
2. [bHousing[/b]
- allow us to put large and/or small house deco items in the "special slot"
- allow us to move the location of the slots so that it is possible to do things like put a chair (small furntiure) next to a table (large furniture)
- allow us to configure the types of house deco slots we want (swap small wall slot for a small furniture slot etc)
- allow us to earn more total house deco slots

Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
In the name of all that is holy, please come up with something to get all of these tokens and skirm marks out of my backpack/bank (festival tokens, DG tokens, more different types of skirms marks than I care to think about, etc)

Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. PVmP - I usally only do this once I have my toons all leveled, geared, etc. It would be nice if I could work on gear while I PvMP. I still wouldnt PvMP all the time but it would be a nice additional option. (Tired of running SH and grinding skirms... Maybe tonight Ill do some PvMP to work on getting runes/relics/whatever)
2. Fluff - fishing, music, festivals are all awesome in this game, but its hard to find time to participate in all of it.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing (Allow weapons/armour/shields to be placed on the wall! Horse stables! and free placement of items to name a few.)
2. User Interface. Need more quickslot bars, and increased support for multi-monitor systems using ATI eyefinity. (user interface is stretched in some places, cannot move the main function/skill bar)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
1. The ability to scale (and allow the user to select) the difficulty/size of all major instances/raids in the game, with increased rewards the harder you make it. (I am talking gear/jewellery here, not just a % of barter items)
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. End Game Raiding (BG at the moment)
2. Everything else I have done, except those darned awesome events which will never come back but for my dreams and fantasies. (chicken ball and ettenmoors run)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1:
Housing.
I have tried to adapt and appreciate the limited-scope housing that was given in LOTRO. It never achieves what I would like it to achieve. As of this moment, I treat my houses like they're intended by Turbine -- empty, undecorated, and using the chests.
Question 2:
Guardian/Warden Taunts should have some level of adverse affect during PvMP. Perhaps a debuff, perhaps a temporary override of control. Something that would make our skills applicable in the PvMP environment instead of the one-trick pony that they are right now with Shield-wall.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
LFF system: Specific quest spot could be revised so player could select a list of activites/quests they are up for.
Deeds: Upgrade could include adding in new virtues, upper level class deeds, higher tier virtues, etc..
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
A mentoring system would be wonderful. Even just a debuff down to the quest level like the Epic line currently buffs us up. Players could even purchase the debuffer 'stones' for open landscape quest mentoring sessions.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
[/QUOTE]
I can never seem to find enough time for crafting or hobbies.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing... there is even a great thread about how it could be revised in the suggestions forum.
2. Crafting "archtypes." I would like to see them as duos with a choose-your-own as the third. So if I took Historian, I would for example have Scholar and Farming, and could take Forester (wood and leather trade) as my third trade.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Gardening... as a hobby. They could be used to beautify our homes, and would of course require us to be at our house, not crafting off in one of the far away places. Grow bushes and flowering plants in pots and baskets in spots, or even have them in our homes.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Fishing... it doesnt do much of anything. I would like to fish more, but I dont get anything out of it. I would like to see something else done with it. Perhaps make it so that we have to go to certain zones for different fish, or occaisionally get loot from it (no rare weapons or the like).
2. I would like to see more social activities... currently some of the best RP spots are cluttered by either mobs, or they are filled with chatty npcs.

Oh Thank you so very much for this "Tell the Community Team" please hear my voice... er ah... read my post.
1. I would love, absolutely love, to be able to change my race. I don't know if this qualifies as a system but I'm putting it in here to begin with. I think if maybe you could switch your cosmetic look with another alt, keeping the deeds and crafting experence the same. All except the racials but I would not mind regrinding those again. I don't know if this would be possible but would love to switch from a Hobbit Mini to an Elf mini or even man.
2. The ability to have houses on Landscape, to actually have a house inside of the town of Bree, or maybe one of those neat little Hobbit holes in the Shire. Evindim, places like that have housing instaces that are used by the player base.

The ability to change races... or did I put that already. (You know that this is a great desire of mine don't you?)
I would like to read lore from the differnt Libraries in the game, you know, like the Library in Evindim, I think it would be neat to read about the lore of those places in game not using the Lore Book.

1. I just don't have enough time to finish my books on all my Characters, I am refering to Volume 2. I'm etiher helping someone out, grinding out deeds, or leveling a new alt to fill a need in the Kin.
2. The festivals (see above post) I think I have to many alts to maintain....

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question #1
#1 I would love to see the housing get revamped, make it so there is more choices in what to do with them. Like adding stable masters to your house and crafting areas. Also add new houses to further places like Lothlorien, Moria, Rivendell, and many other that would be new.
#2 The hobby system also needs a revamp. Since bk 13 fishing has been left on the shelf with little to nothing added to it. I would love to see either some more fishing advancements added, or a totally new hobby. Like maby add special items to insances in angmar moria and mirkwood that you could collect, like in moria in the gs make a number of items that are rare that only 1 person could collect at a time that when you collect all of them you get a special reward or it makes you more powerful when you do the gs.
Question #2
Hmm this is a hard one, I am not one for thinking of new ideas but i'll try and do my best. How about how about a base to base war in the moors. Like what I mean in 1 either expand the moors so it is larger so it would work or 2 make a totally new area that would be very large. What you could do is use pve items to make your base like rowan wood, - tier 6 wood the higher the wood the stronger the base would be, Like you could make a new elf camp any where in the moors that you could use as a point defense. And make it so it is more fortified like if you got enough mallorn wood you could make a gate that creeps would have to destroy before they could get in and you could have wall to ground combat, and it would be alot more fun. Also you could make the npcs do what you want, like they are not as stupid as they are now where a reaver could get bubbled and run all the npcs off then have the creep raid come in and wipe the raid. Like the npcs would reset when the person that had aggrow went out of the keep or outpost so. There is many more I could add but I wont cause I dont want it to get too long, so there is my suggestion on a new mechanic! :)
Question #3
#1 Hmm this is a hard one cause I have alot of time on my hands so i'll only do 1 :P I im a rare breed and love to do deeds, but I think it is kind or odd that in angmar the worm slayer deed it 150/300 where as in mirkwood all the slayer deeds are 120/240, maby take the slayer deeds in angmar down a bit? :)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing. More hooks, even if it means limiting the number in use (a la AC1). Permissions by chest. Housing decorations should be bound to the house owner once placed on a hook.
2. Chat. /1 is Alliance chat on some characters; a private channel on others. I invariably send comments to the wrong channel. When I type /1 it should show the name of the channel, just as /r converts to the recipient's name. And try sending a tell to Eohguenixchemythani -- why must I type a full name instead of just enough to uniquely identify the intended recipient?
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
The ability to set your effective level lower than your actual level. Rather than scale content up to my level, make it possible for me to scale myself down. That way I can take a bunch of newbs on a Rift run without trivializing the content.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Inn League stuff
2. Crafting
Both because they take gobs of time relative to the outcome.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
1. a) Housing - expand the kin houses and make more room for trophies add stables/crafting areas for kins - add some relay race areas for kin competitions - add some quests that allow kin to better their kin houses.
b) Hobbies - add something new to fishing (new deeds, new trophies, new fish) add other types of hobbies ie: rare rock collecting/painting/bug collecting it would be amazing to be able to add a "butterfly conservatory" to your home or kin house.
2. Inter Kin Competition - This would be amazing - servers could set up competitions between kins - you would submit a group of 3, 4, 6, 12 or 24 from the same kin and match times against other kins for various instances. etc...
3. There is so much I want to do and never fin d the time to but I figure I will get to it eventually. Right now I would say skirmishes dont get enough attention and music

1. Itemization. Bring back rare unique world drops. Make high level group content such as BG offer better rewards and incentive. Challenge mode chests should guarantee something beyond a T4-6 relic, 50-100K IXP an armor token and a (typically) useless purple item. Why does non-radiance armor drop in radiance instances? Why do main-hand weapons such as spears drop at all? Things like this serve zero purpose other than armor for cosmetics (and man, that helm is ugly anyway. :)
2. Conjunctions. They need some love. They need to scale to our level. They need to be more relevant in raids. This was such a cool and unique part of the game that has accumulated a real thick layer of dust. Give us some new ones as well. New functions could be related to corruption removal, certain debuffs.....lots of things.

Deed/quest-related gating. Ditch Radiance. Gate with difficulty. The system that existed in the Rift was so much better than anything since, but I can understand why gating is deemed "necessary". Please stop doing it with armor. It might also help the itemization issue, bring back crafting, etc... Radiance put 2 professions at a real disadvantage (metalworkers, tailors)

Sadly, there is nothing I don't have enough time for. I'm already taking my 6th alt past level 60. I'm not a completionist, though. I get what I need and the rest is pretty moot.
I would like to spend more time exploring a larger number of level-cap instances....if they were available. Next time, please make sure there is enough level-cap content waiting for us before raising the cap. You invalidated a whole lot of content with the 60 to 65 jump. You should have left us at 60 through Mirkwood. :( I have little desire to plow through the old 60 instances - even if there might be a decent piece of teal jewelry waiting for me. It's a mindless grind with no real challenge.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Hobbies - Expanding to things other than just fishing
2. The Volume II Epics - Revised to use the Inspired Greatness mechanic applied in Volume I.
side note: I get slightly annoyed by you all asking for input on everything but what a lot of people consider really important [myself included]. I do hope you do this because you are already working on solutions, not because you don't care.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
A mentoring or scaling mechanic that would allow you to go back and play through lower level quests/instances at the level they are meant to be played, especially with someone new or their alt.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. PvMP
2. Building Rep with pre-Moria factions.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Other than LI and Radiance gear, I am very happy with the game and wouldn't recommend expanding/changing any other areas of the game.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I think current mechanics in place are fine. I cant think of any I want to add right now. Although I would like to request mounted combat NOT ever to be added into the game.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
I am currently content with my play time experiences, and I have time to do everything I like.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. If I have to exclude PvMP, then Hobbies is my number 1. I'd like to see something like fishing implemented, just don't know what.
2. Revise crafting. Make the best/highest recipes drop from mobs, not barterable.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Nothing. I would rather see more time and effort put into other aspects we currently have. Such as designing a loot table for Barad Guldur that suits its level of difficulty.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. PvMP, its the last truly fun part of end-game content, since BG's loot table leaves us very little to look forward to seeing.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
hi, i think the virtue system needs looking at, sort of like if you have 10 in valour and 10 in zeal you could go to a new lvl of traits with most of both of them, or valour and mercy, etc. wisdom and zeal, wisdom and mercy, something like that. but you would need 10 in each virtue to be able to combine them to an inner circle of virtues. if there are multi to pick from ppl would still be diff and not all alike in there virtues.
would be nice when making a 2nd age lvl 60 or 65 ledgendary weapon to be able to choose 1 or 2 MAX legacies to put on it when its made

Question 1: Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing ---center the hooks, update the system to make it more universal (let you put small and large furniture in special slots, small furniture in large spots, etc)
2. The user interface....add in more quickslots if desired, scaling mouse pointer sizes for those with higher resolutions, etc.

Question 2: If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Stat customization without traits and items. Throw everyone a bone, and let us from level 51+ add 5 points per level to whichever baseline stat we want :) Adds more customization, which is good, and lets us further individualize our characters.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Hobbies - Still only have fishing...
2. Virtues - Need to expand them beyond a cap of 10...
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Bind to Account (for barter items, housing items, etc.) - There is way too much Bind on Acquire in LotRO.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. PvMP - It *should* be the ultimate endgame in my opinion, and it used to be, but now it just doesn't seem worth the trouble.
2. Raiding - Almost always fun, but doing it for a slim chance at purple armor that's not that great and not necessarily required for future raids seems kind of ridiculous.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing: There is a big problem with housing, in that most of the houses are vacant, but can't be moved into. I know some players return, but the vast majority do not. We just keep creating new housing instances. My suggestion is a revamped housing system based around kinship communities. A kinship can establish a community with a large one time purchase of a kinship house and X number of Houses. As a kinship achieves higher ranks, they can purchase NPCs like vault keeper, provisioner, healer, and potentially crafting facilities.
2. Grouping - create a simple toggle on your quest tracker and in quest journal. Integrate LFF tools into the quest journal (ie show others working on this quest in your area, or anyone online). An announcement in the chat window when someone in your zone meets your criteria would also be useful.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I'm changing my answer! What I want is a WTB section in the Auction house. Integrate the AH with the lorebook database. Let people drag an item they want, and potentially set a quantity. A player wishing to sell can click something like "Fill Order", they now will have one hour to craft the item and put it in the auction house. The crafter will receive their pay as soon as the order has been filled.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
It used to be PvP, but I've started doing that. I think this is my question from a few weeks ago :)
1. Music System. I've always meant to learn how to do it, but never seem to find the time. (I've also been interested in pipe-weed farming or brewing, but these remain somewhat unclear to me as to how to get started).
2. Completing under-level content, I've still not faced all the bosses in the rift, helegrod, and I've never stepped inside the old BG.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. I think sparring should be expanded dramatically. I would love for there to be some sort of official duel/tournament system, for example.
2. Expand housing dramatically. Improve hook system; currently even full of items, houses just seem barren. I love that we get it at all, but improvements would go a long way. I'd like more reasons to visit your home and have others visit as well. Maybe a small buff or something? Or how about you can craft and send invites for people to visit your house... they could use these to quick travel to your home (or kinship home, if they're not in your kinship) so you can have player-run events or RP stuff, etc.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Options for mounted combat. I'd even be fine if there was a new horse rider class and all other classes only got basic combat additions in that regard.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Inn league quests
2. Fishing. For me, I think more fishing based quests would make me put more time into this one.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. H-O-U-S-I-N-G. There are not NEARLY enough hooks in any given house, but it's far more egregious in the Duillond houses. There's a table here, then ten feet away there's a chair. The chandelier is so high up you can't even see it.
Go into any furnished player house and look at how spread-out everything is. Then go into any NPC house (Bag End, Lowbanks estate, hell the Cat Lady's house) and see how full and cozy it is. There's something wrong when Calder Cob has better furnishings than the vaunted Saviour of the tri-county Eriador/Moria/Lorien area.
2. Kinships. For serious. Add more rank levels, add an option to cluster kinships into Alliances, or to be able to see kinship members on the map, or any number of other things. There's so much kinships could be.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat. Think of the implications: tailors can make blankets and barding, smiths can make shoes and armor, or even mounted-only weapons. Just as we can get (or even make!) our own Anduril or Glamdring, where's our Firefoot or Shadowfax?
There's many suggestions on implementation floating about, they're good reads.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Skirmishes. They take too long to complete individually to really do them in between other content, so I end up having to devote the better part of an hour just to that to get anything done. Granted, it's something to do when there's nothing else of interest (which is good, and the more options like that we have, the more things we can cycle, even if it's just vastly different forms or locations of skirmishes), but it rarely fits well into the schedule with other things.
2. Raiding. It takes so long to organize a PUG, mostly from lack of interest. Most people that raid are in a raiding kin or its allies, so anyone lacking such connections is out of luck if they want to do the Watcher or the like.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. New zones! Expand the world!
2. None, just new zones and revamping the LI system. Tell the bosses of any Turbine team mate who says they need something to work on that they need to be shifted to the "new zones" and "fix LIs" teams. heehee, only half-kidding! :)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be? None, tell the bosses of those Turbine teammates who asked for this question that they need to be moved to the "new zones" and "fix LIs" teams! Not kidding at all this time lol! :)
Question 3

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Crafting. Delete Vocations. Allow any 1 harvesting to be combined with any combination of crafting or harvesting professions. Add a skill-adds-bonus mechanic so that crafters can mini-game their way to a critical item. Add deconstructions so that a crafter can finally do something to all that vendor trash.
2.Factions - Should be tied less to level/tier. I would like to see skirmishes leverage faction to open up more skirmishes and delve into the struggles in each faction area. Would love to skirmish at LevelCap for forochel or eglain and get skirmish marks and rep items for those groups instead of doing lots of turn ins.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Positional advantages. Combat should take into account flanking and rear attacks for everyone as well as a bonus for surrounding an mob. Any character should get a bonus if they are standing behind a mob. It promotes good tanking and removes some of the blind standing and button mashing that goes on in all mmos
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Exploring. Lots of the newer areas have become very narrow and pipe characters through from level x to level y. With near zero free space to explore and hunt when not leveling.
2. Meeting new people. Not sure how you can solve this one but I never meet anyone new. I game with the same old folks or I log on and log out when i don't see them. Very little incentive to mix it up with new players. Perhaps Social games? Or Turbine players that are out in the open to socialize and bring folks together? No idea really but its the truth.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
1. Housing! More models, more space for the small houses, and allow us to place furniture in it more realistically. Maybe even let us place in our house one superior crafting table/oven/study or a forge in our yard, according to the guild we're in, once we reach kinship standing. (How cool would it be for cooks to be able to make a meal at their house to invite their fiends over for.) This would definitely give us more of a reason to spend time there instead of just for extra storage and neighborhood vendor discounts. In any case, we should also be allowed to sell or upgrade our houses, and let more than one character have a house. Also, it would be great if new housing neighborhoods for higher level characters were introduced: Rivendell, Moria, a northern Shire location, eventually Rohan, Gondor, or Lake-Town, etc.
2. UI - specifically, please add more quickslot bars!
Question 2
Not sure if this qualifies as "gameplay mechanics", but maybe changing the mount system to where we can speed up our horses for a time, maybe with food, or with better horseshoes (a new metalsmith recipe maybe?). And being able to fight, even at least range fighting while mounted. And being able to give our mounts buffs, also with food maybe (oats or hey, etc), to take more hits before getting dismounted. Also, I'd still like to see the prices of mounts go down a little more, they are crazy expensive.
Question 3
1. Fishing. I know it got improved, but it feels "hit or miss" when fishing for specific fish for cooking recipes. If there is certain bodies of water where certain fish are found, when we get the fishing hobby started, we should get a fishing guide that states where certain fish can be found. I really liked the concept of using bait for critical success fishing - I wish that could be returned if it would work right. And with all these "trophy" fish or grand catches, it would be great if they were worth a lot more coin, so that spending tons of time catching boat loads of unnecessary fish would at least pay off. Also I loved the idea of fishing competitions in festivals, I'd like to see more of that.
2. The music! I think playing music should be added to Hobbies. This gives us a goal of levels to achieve, and keeps us practicing! This is such an awesome part of LOTRO and I think it deserves more attention given to it. It also fosters RPing and interaction in the inns, the festivals, and in the party places in housing neighborhoods. People could perform on stages for points, or do a certain number of songs, or get a certain number of people to clap for them, or whatever.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Banking system. I have opened all 6 bags on my main, and i still dont have enough space.
2. Auction house. Trade is virtually non-existent. I think it is mostly because of the 2 day time limit and inability to buy just a part of the offered stack.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Kin house upgrades. I would like the kin houses to be more then just trophy storage. It would be nice to be able to add a work bench or a forge. Additionally it would be nice to have a kin bank with different levels of access (ie. these items are free for all, these items are for members and up, and to take theses items you need to put in a request to be approved by an officer)
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)

2. chicken play

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Virtues. I'd like to see some meta-virtues that could act as set bonus for certain combinations of virtues. Example: You slot Honor, Valour, and Loyalty, all at rank 6 or above, and you get "Chivalry" as a bonus trait, adding ... something, I don't know what. Also, let's please raise the virtue cap. Ten is sooo 2007! I'd add 1 to the cap for every 5 levels above 50, making the current cap 13 for level 65 players. This will add an incentive to do more of the new deeds that get added with each expansion.
2. Hobbies. Sorry, I don't have any specific suggestions, but it'd be nice to have more than just fishing.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Definitely the housing system. we need more housing servers on my realm, as almost every deluxe house it taken. also the amount of stuff i can put in a deluxe house is very small compared to the size of it. Also the hooks where everything MUST BE PLACED needs to be movable or something. I want some chairs at my breakfast table.
2. Trait grinding, who doesnt hate hate HATE having to kill like 500 mobs for 1 trait. maybe we could tone it down a bit.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Cross-Server Instance Que. Yes, i know WoW did it, but it works. The problem i have had with all my characters since i started playing is finding groups for lower level content like GB the red marshes etc. If you could just que up for an instance, and get matched with a tank healer and dps for the same instance, and go, that would be freakin awesome. The old content would really see a lot more use then. Also it would be nice not to spend days looking for a fellowship for 2.5.5 etc. Maybe you could also include epic fellowship quests into the ques too?
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Hobbies, fishing is boring. Also you could use more then one hobby...
2. Delving of Fror, come on guys, pve in a pvp zone? nobody really ever goes there anymore.

1.i think chicken ball is far over due to make its comeback to the festivals
2.how about making skirmishes usefull and more in demand by letting them drop some teal items on 6 man up like some jewelery pls make the jewelry class specific and make one desirable for each class.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
n/a
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.the epic books it is time consuming trying to get a fellowship for vol2 so lets try and make some of it solable especially the moria stuff and the loth instances or duo would work just fine.
2. like to see the delving of fror be use for something like making a symbol drop off the main boss guy in the middle.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Would love to see more instances in end-game like CD and URU. nothing with terribly fancy tricks and scripting. Just a good ol' instance
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat I suppose
Question 3

1. being max level... stop raising the level cap so quickly!

1. Echo the previous posts about housing and hooks. At the very least, houses should have many more hooks, and all houses should have every kind of hook (What? I need a deluxe house to lay down a large rug or hang a chandelier?).
.
2. Cosmetic options for crafted items upon item creation. If I like the way the Bright Steel Sword looks, I should be able to craft a Forged Elven-Steel Sword that looks like a Bright Steel Sword. And don't even get me started on those hideous tier 4 Dwarf-Shields! Basically, you should be able to make a crafted item look like any other crafted item of the same type but lower level (i.e. A Tier 5 2-Handed Axe can be made to look like a Tier 1,2,3,4, or 5 2-Handed Axe; Tier 4 Elven Medium Leggings can be made to look like Tier 4 or lower Elven Medium Leggings; etc).
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
MOUNTED COMBAT. If a #$*!~=@& goblin can fight mounted, I ought to be able to, as well. If the game moves to Rohan and we're still Infantry, my brain will likely explode. Do you want that on your conscience?
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Playing Music. This is a good thing, since I would cause windows to shatter and crops to fail.
2. Vices. Brewing (and drinking) strong beverages. Growing (and smoking) pipeweed. Characters in the books gained real benefits from these activities, not just blurred vision and cool smoke-rings. These things were reminders of home and good times and what they were fighting for. Perhaps a morale buff? Extra xp for a while? Using Destiny buffs at (greatly)reduced cost? It's a royal pain to craft booze and 'weed, throw me a bone!
Good questions. Thanks, guys.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
Hmmm, besides those big three?
1. Housing
- more freedom and customization in hook placement.
- storage containers for specific items. A coat hook for my 2 dozen or so cloaks, a crafting trunk for crafting ingredients, etc.
2. Inventory management - there are some serious issues. I have tons and tons of stuff for everything, and it's quite ridiculous, and it keeps getting worse.
- implement a ui element that displays all our tokens acquired.
- see housing idea for storage of some other items.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Nothing, IMPROVE and expand what you have in place already.
(i.e. more end-game armor variety, better LI system, expanded trait system, etc etc)
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
I don't feel rushed or pressured into doing one thing (what I love about LOTRO) so I take time to do everything. Whether it be enjoying the festivals, crafting, end game instance, etc.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Crafting and its effect on the economy. Crafted gear in general needs to be better, comparable to radiance gear and drops from instances. The existing sets should be made as good as the 15 radiance and 25 radiance pieces, and then a new set that is hard to acquire should be added. It should take a whole new crit item to make a piece of this gear, like a pure Mithril flake or something, that is very rare, as rare as shards were back in SoA. Do the same for jewelery.
2. This may count as Radiance gear but... most of the gear in Dol Guldur, the 30+ radiance sets, need to be made better. None of the Moria radiance gear should not be better, and the same goes for jewelery. There needs to be new jewelery drops, preferably in Dungeons, Warg Pens, and Barad Guldur that surpass jewelery from raids like Dar Narbugud and Watcher.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Random Events at locations where people go a lot. We "sortave" had this before with Amarthiel, but not really with NPCs. I think occansionally there should be things like attacks on the 21st hall by orcs and goblins and attacks on Ost Galadh by forces from Dol Guldur, maybe including the Lieutenant on his fell beast. There should also be rare raid-boss mobs that spawn and drop loot you may acquire from an instance or the really rare crafted drop I listed above. All of these would be announced like festival events and keep takes out in the moors are.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Housing.
2. Crafting.

DO NOT update, expand, or revise ANYTHING in the game until you fix Legendary Items. LIs should be PRIORITY #1.
With that said......
1. Expand the Reflecting Pool system to include more instances/raids, and make them level-scalable. I would like to be able to enter instances such as The Rift, Great Barrows, Carn Dum, etc via the Reflecting Pool and have it scale to my & my group's level. This could be easily accomplished by combining the existing Reflecting Pool mechanic for accessing instances and the existing skirmish mechanic for level-scaling and would re-open a world of content to level-capped players. A Reflecting Pool linked barter/rep system (much like the Marks system already in place) could be easily developed into an ambition-line for grinding content or even just make Reflecting Pool accessed instances give skirmish marks.
2. Itemization. This sort of overlaps with the Radiance system, but is worth its own byline. Once Radiance is un-linked from specific raid barter items only (i.e. a Radiance scroll that could be applied, or trait-based radiance, or whatever) I would really like to see rare items & recipes re-introduced as they were in SoA. I miss the thrill of finding an Etched Beryl Ring recipe on an Angmarim corpse or an Auroch's Helm on an ornery ND auroch. The fact that 99% of lvl 50+ drops in the game, even in raids (!), are either so useless or so overly-abundant that they are vendor trash really just makes the grind all that much less compelling. Bring back the well-honed variety of gear that we once loved you for!

Open-world sieges. Remember when Amarthiel would show up with her minions and attack Aughaire...an A.P.B. would show up in glff and legions of heroes would drop what they were doing and show up to defend the free people's settlement. This was GLORIOUS! It wouldn't have to be led by a player-based character like Amarthiel (although that was brilliant!), but a system where a real open-world settlement could be attacked by pve forces and would have to be defended would add a really immersive element to the game. There could be specific benefits to the free people keeping control of their base, and specific penalties when it falls into the hands of the enemy. I'm envisioning something akin to "Defense of the Prancing Pony", but in the real world (not confined to the skirmish "sandbox") with real consequences.

I don't really have an answer for this. I devote time/energy/attention to aspects of the game that I enjoy, and ignore those that I don't.

2.
1. Travel/Swift Travel-There should be decided upon for a "capital" of sorts for each region (ie, Michel Delving for the Shire, Rivendell for Trollshaws, 21st Hall for Moria) and swift travel should be made available (rep based) to every capital from every capital. (Yes, implying swift travel MD-->Emyn Lum)
2. LFF tools-if there was some way to globally "register" that you would be willing to group for particular quests/instances, then someone could go to "Instance X and see "Players A, B, and C" need this, too, maybe we can make a group?"

Easy, crafting and gathering mats. I simply love making items and gear for friends and kinmates. However, if I want to cook up like 200 racks of lamb for kin use, it is a big time sink and I avoid it.
Is there any way we can set our toons to craft like a bazillion of Item X, log on another toon, and then go back when the crafting is done? lol.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. I'd love to see something that increased the level of strategy/tactics in grouping- more flanking damage/attacks, or CJs that get bonus if members are flanking.. Stealing from the Rift skirmish, mobs that are affected more by specific CJs.. This sort of straddles the line between new and old system, but I think CJs are a great part of grouping, and would love to see even more complexity for groups that can handle it!
2. Kin and Kin Alliance systems. /joinchannel just leaves so much to be desired. It's great to use a site like Guildportal to coordinate between groups, but having something in-game would be extremely helpful. I know this would be a headache, but seeing who's online in the kin and/or alliance, and checking quests the same way we do in a fellowship would be extremely helpful. Hey so and so, I see you're also on 2.4.7, wanna start a group? It's such a headache now that we're all on our 3rd or 4th alt to run through the Moria cluster and the Mirkwood cluster, etc etc to get geared. None of which we USED to have to do.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
More reward for helping people? A sidekick/mentor system? I'd be against a system that let people move up in levels, but something that would let us scale down would be great. We would need some sort of tangible reward for doing it, I think.. I also think that with the community we have, a lot of people would do it anyway. Relive the old content, help out folks with their alts, etc etc..
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Festivals, to an extent. Hard to find time to balance doing all the stuff I have to do on alts with building up leaves, etc. Happy to do it on my hunter, for instance, but harder on my others. Someone mentioned temporary swift travels, and that would be brilliant.
2. Old fellowship/raid content. It saddens me to an extent that I'll never get to tank the Rift on my warden, because who is doing that now unless it's on a lark? Or the new GA, or Fornost, or even Great Barrows? The world has gotten smaller and smaller as we've expanded, which is a sad thing. If we're the heroes of Eriador, give us a reason to continuing saving it, instead of being trapped in the pit.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Pets - Pets do not behave properly. Skirmish pets do not attack when they should, and they constantly get lost traveling from point A to B. This also applies to LM and Captain pets. Pets need to be more well behaved. There is no excuse for this after 3 years. Example: Trouble in Tuckborough. When you travel to the West Farm your skirmish pet will not follow you.
2. Slayer Deeds - Personally I feel that there should be some type of system in place to lower the number of items that you have to kill based on how many of your other character have done the deed. If you are working on your 5th character you should not have to kill 450 worms in Angmar for the deed. Give a guy a break. :)

Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Exploration. There are too many deeds that need to be done, do skirmishes, or instances, to have time to go back to some area that you may have missed and just explore.
2.

2.
1. LFF - One quest at a time and no instances makes this virtually useless. Have "stickied" quests up. Always looking for SG groups? Leave it up. Wanting to do 2.5.5? Leave it up at all times. Let someone start a group and have it send out a notification that they started up that group (if they wish).
2. Skirmishes - We need different *types* of skirmishes that have more variance. Current skirmishes are fun, but they get old really, really fast.

Well, I guess it's only building on something that's already there, but I'd love session play to become a bigger deal. Maybe have an interface, and allow you to play through session plays that you've already unlocked. Do more session play!

Question 3

2.
1. Raids. Well... this is more of a personal preference at this time. The preference being not to spend lots of time getting rad gear for all my toons. And to not wait around for two hours while a pug might get filled out. I miss the days where 12 people could just jump into something. And don't say skirmishes, the Tier 1 on those is still quite silly for no real reward.
2. Can't think of a number 2 at this time.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
- Definitely the Housing, as many people have mentioned already. One of the main reasons I play this game is because it allows me to become part of Middle Earth, the world that was envisioned by Tolkien and the same one I imagined being part of when I was younger. The Housing system definitely was a fantastic idea and added significantly to this experience, but it has so much more potential than what is being given to us. Like everyone else is saying, the hook issue is one that should be at the foremost of your to-dos. The ability to make our houses look like homes would surely be much appreciated by all.
- I would also like to see the Hobbies worked on a little more. This is also a part of the game that makes it seem less like a game and more like an experience. The fishing is a great idea, but let's see what else we can do with it! Where are the rare recipes that require a fish that's difficult to catch? Where are the delicious meals that can be cooked up by cooks to provide nice buffs before a battle? And, I'm sure there's got to be more hobbies in Middle Earth than just fishing, lol!
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
This is a harder question, but I'd have to say if I wanted a completely new mechanic in the game, I'd want it to be a social one. Something that makes it fun to get together with a bunch of people who enjoy being part of this game as much as you do. Freeze-Tag is definitely a step in the right direction...
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
- I definitely want to see more incentive to farm Pipe Weed. I don't care what it is, but it has to be there. Buffs, Debuffs, hallucinations...I don't know what needs to be done, but it has to get done lol. It was a pretty big part of Tolkien's Lore, and thus should have a bigger part in this game. Maybe there could be competitions held, where the best Pipe Weed entered gets rewards. Or maybe some kind of Pipe Weed Faire, where farmers could go to sample their crop and visitors could purchase it, maybe for the buffs it gives them or maybe because they need some for the party they're attending in their neighbourhood.
- I also think there should be more incentive to go to Inns. They are all so richly detailed, and have an atmosphere just waiting to be developed upon. Inn parties, perhaps. Or what about Inn League Member parties? Every week all characters who are members of the Inn League get a letter in the mail, formally requesting their presence at a different Inn or Tavern each week. Of course, since there are probably hundreds of characters who are members, it could be randomly sent to a certain number of members each day of the week. This could potentially provide a lively atmosphere in any given Inn on any given night. Member or not, if you happen to be at The Bird & Baby on Wednesday night, when 20 out of 40 members of the Inn League who were invited for that night are there, you're going to be at a party!
All in all, anything that immerses me into the game world more than it already does is just fine in my books!

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing! A reason for kinships and players to spend more times in their neighborhoods. I always thought it would be neat to raise your own pet in your house, like a dog, cat, bunnie, or whatever.
2. Cooking/Farming. Speed up farming times, just a tiny bit. And make cooking viable. It semes a lot of my kinnies who do tailoring, or jewelry, or potion making can play the market and make a decent profit. I have yet to do that as it seems sometimes people just don't care about food. ~shrugs~
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
GM ran events, or events that affect all the world. I remember my first week playing Everquest (one, not two) and either a GM came as a dragon and wiped out everyone till he escaped or died, or someone intrepid enough unleashed the dragon to Norath. I's what made me stay with EQ for a long time. GM ran events happened often, and their prizes were amazing. I thought all mmo's would have this. Guess not?
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
Fishing. I love the way FFXI handled it. You could actually MAKE money doing it in that game as even a low level can catch enough fish to sell to a cook to make money.
Spending time in Inns drinking. Make some incentive for people to come every now and then to these places.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Crafting - better craftable weapons/armour. I like the multi-output system, some more of these would be good..
2. Kinship functionality - money bank, customisable ranks + options available to each rank, kin house chests with individual permissions, Officer mail, to name a few.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
- Random events.. When you're levelling alts it get's boring when you know what to do and where to do it. It would also be good to have more 'puzzle' quests, go here kill x loses it's appeal quickly. For example, I like the way that you need to align the mirrors in Mirror Halls to get to the boss, something along these lines but really creative.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Finish Vol 2 on alts, now most people have passed out of Moria to Mirkwood, getting people to do the 6-man quests takes too long.
2. Barad Guldur - takes a long time to prepare (getting enough people with 120 radiance contributes to this), the raid usually results in numerous wipes, mobs respawning, and for what? inferior armour.. Doesn't seem worth it other than to say, 'hey, I did it'.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
1. a) I've been playing since beta and I have done almost all the content of this game except the really involved instances and some of the EPIC STORYLINE! The reason is that signing on to play with a group for 3+ hours at a stretch to finish Carn Dum is just not feasible for my lifestyle. It bothers me that much of the STORYLINE of this game is lost on me when that's what I like most. You have made some things scaleable but you need to do it to the entire Epic Storyline at least. At this rate, I'll NEVER get into Helegrod. Even my 65 SuperGuardian gets wasted when I try to solo it.
b) Random drops at high levels are now worthless, unless it comes out of an instance all items dropped are pure vendor trash. I'd like to see the occasional (very rarely) drop that can match some of the better crafted items. Armor would be obvious place for this...and occasional crafting items like dye-making components.
2. Horses need to be VASTLY expanded in a number of ways.
a) First there should be Mounted combat. We all know Rohan is just south of us and we all want to visit there. At some point you are going to HAVE TO make horses more than just transportation....as someone mentioned earlier, if I'm forced to be Infantry in Rohan, it just might be enough to make me give this game up.
b) Variation in horse speed and damage-before-dismount...this ties into mounted combat but there is a BIG difference between a trained warhorse and a draft-horse or a quarter-horse in both speed, attitude (toward combat) and hardiness.
c) Variations in equipment or cosmetic items for mounts...more than just Racial/Reputation horse appearance.
3. There is little to no reason for anyone to ever enter some of the more well-designed areas of this game...namely the Inns and Pubs of the Shire and Bree. I'd like to have a reason to visit these places for something other than a trip to re-do my traits.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Hobbies - We need more Hobbies to bide our time.
2. Barter Rewards - We have Tokens from this Faction and different Tokens from another Faction, and Marks for one level set, and Medallions for another, and Coins for a different level set. Why not make a Universal Barter System, where the higher level a Reward the more it Barter Tokens it costs? That way, Old Content like Helegrod, Annuminas, CD/URU/BG, Rift and soon to be Moria + Mirkwood won't be forgotten about and abandoned when the next Expansion comes out. If people want Level Relevant Rewards and won't bother going to Old Content because there aren't Level Relevant Rewards, then give them a way they can play the Old Content *AND* get Level Relevant Rewards!
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
1. It would be a toss-up between making all Raids Scalable so that today's End-Game doesn't become obsolete tomorrow...or an Inheritance System that allows old Bound equipment to be passed on to a Child or Adopted Child on another Account, or an Alt on the same Account.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. As the festivals keep growing, and my stable of Alts keeps growing, it seems I never have enough time to do everything at the festivals for all of my characters. This is not a bad thing as it keeps me longing for that Festival to return the very next year.
2. I would like to spend more time in Middle-Earth exploring new lands, new places, and uncovering yet more Easter Eggs. Alas, I explore far faster than Turbine can provide new Regions to explore! ;)

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Some of the best reward items are always bound. How about losing that part of the reward system. If folks want to buy the item instead of grinding for it, then they should be able to have that choice.
2.There are 4 bounty quests in Evendim and they are fun challanging and a bit unique to lotro. Isn't it right to think that other towns might have similar posters for vermin, mobs, and really nasty bad guys. You could even add a new faction, or give faction points to the guild the bounty was placed from in the first place. If you could randomize the bounties it would even be better as you wouldn't be doing the same old thing all the time as a lower level. I really liked the bounty quests and would like to see more of them.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat, and henchmen for solo quests, or that enhancement for fellowship quests that people want to solo, like you gave in the epics.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.Housing
2.Make the crafting more interesting. I like crafting but the silly crafting quests are a pain. Maybe being able to enhance objects like adding armour or damage or stats. finding stuff for doing that would be better use of the silly crafting quests.

That's an AWESOME idea and a killer hobby possibility!!
It would tie well into the Mathom House and could even have reputation effects with the hobbits. I'd love this much more than fishing!

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Kinship: Add a kin bank for money, In-game kinship calendar, Ability to make kinship alliances, More options available for assigning permissions to kinship members, Customizable kinship ranks for officers, Add a kinship vault for items,
2. Instances: Have all current and upcoming instances be scalable by level
Question 2

1. Fishing
2. Chicken session play

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
1. This is kind of a convenience thing, but i think it be cool if you could save certain trait styles... For example, on my LM, I like to go mainly red when soloing, however when grouping, i trait for more support and not damage. I find it annoying having to go back and slot/unslot/click/drag all of my traits. So if there were way we could make our own presets like: Preset 1 - could call it "Damage".... Preset 2 - Support etc etc (name it what you wish)... That way, I can just hit the presets when going to a bard instead of taking the time to click and drag my traits one at a time. Make sense? Convenient?
Question 2
Fighting on horses (or at least ranged attacks) would be wild...

1.
2.
1.
A. Since you took away my first choice(pvmp), let's say combat? Is that a system? More speciliazing abilities? the ability to set up particular combat styles with player selected traits. ie Deorwyn selects champion moors play. All i have to do is select the box Moors Play. I've already selected which traits I prefer for that style of play and set up a preference (I know there's a word for this, it's just not coming to me now)
B. I don't know if this would be considered pvmp, but I mean it as a kinship modification. A Freeps Pvmp only kin which is secondary to our main kin? Inn League Kins? Crafting Kins? Hobby Kins? (btw booze making and smoke making ought to be hobbies!!!!)
2.This is so easy. MOUNTED COMBAT!!!!!!!!
3.
a. Again, easy. I love exploring! More exploration deeds and traits or other rewards for exploring.
b.I love cooking. How about beermaking as a hobby???

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing. Please remove hooks and let us put items where we want. Also, 1 house per character, not account. My hobbits want a hobbit hole, my dwarf wants a cave and my elves want what they have now. :). Some new items would also be appreciated.
2. Virtues - please raise the cap and also add in some new ones.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Dynamic content! There have been instances of this smattered across the game: the injured Ranger in Rhunenlad who tells you "stay away" until you're too close and then you are ambushed by three Earth-kin bandits. I would also include in this the "battlegrounds" we've seen in Forochel. I feel expanding these into existing areas and upcoming areas would add a new dynamic and a slight sense of realism to the game where players are slightly effecting the landscape. Dynamic exploration stuff would be cool too.
2. Housing! There is so much that could be done to improve and make communities more interactive. More social and practical aspects please (crafting?).
3. Cosmetic weapons. (please don't ban me for adding #3!)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
It might not be entirely new but we need new hobbies like gardening, painting, smoking, exploring, anything non-combat related and preferably productive.
Question 3

1. Endgame raids/instances and subsequent gear acquisition
2. Building reputation with various factions

1.To add my voice, HOUSING!!! Hooks is the biggest problem. I agree with all the other forum members opinions on this.
2.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I think a system to alow us to keep hard earned armour on display in our houses would be awesome. I'm using space in my bbank to hold my rift gear that I worked so hard earn. Maybe an equipable manequin that can be purchased and placed in your house. Or maybe a weapons rack to hold 6 or so weapons.
More hobbies! Fishing isn't enough.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.Fishing. If I had more of a reason to do it other than catching a few useable fish, I'd spend more time doing it.
2.Music. If we had awards to work towards, maybe songs to earn and play to give us an achievement, I'd spend more time doing it.

*this is taken from someone else but I feel needed to be reiterated
2. Conjunctions. They need some love. They need to scale to our level. They need to be more relevant in raids. This was such a cool and unique part of the game that has accumulated a real thick layer of dust. Give us some new ones as well. New functions could be related to corruption removal, certain debuffs.....lots of things.
I would add that quest rewards should be useful again instead of so generic and uninspired. What ever happened to the really epic rewards for doing books?

If I have to give one, I would say that making old instances scale to level would be a good way to make older content relevant again. Otherwise, no new mechanics - fix and improve on what you already have instead of leaving things unfinished or broken altogether.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. HOUSING!!!! In addition to everything already mentioned above I would add that Housing Upkeep should be eliminated. Did I buy the house or didn't I? If I did, why am I paying rent each month. The problem with the ever running upkeep tab is that folks who can't play all the time due to such bothersome things as work, school, family, etc. find themselves unable to maintain their upkeep and return to find the cost to pull the house they supposedly already purchased out of hock too cost prohibative. Either do away with the upkeep entirely or significantly knock it down to a reasonable property tax. If you want to raise the initial cost of buying a house that's fine but it's simply not working the way it is now, neighborhoods are locked up ghost towns.
2. Hobbies. Fishing is a bore and the much promised addition of more hobbies has never materialized. Either fix it or get rid of it.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Customability. Whether that is with cosmetic additions to your character's appearance or their skills & trait sets, the current mechanic is too cookie-cutterish.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Festivals. Why not have each seasonal fest last the entire season? That way people would have more of a chance to enjoy them and you guys would have more time to fix each of the fests inevitable bugs.
2. Skirmishes. When I do get a chance to play I find myself too caught up in the Leveling/Quest Arc hamster wheels to waste time in the skirmishes.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing - right now, aside from the discounted repairs and as a cheap way to get a little extra storage, there's little reason to worry about getting a house... if you could add crafting facilities to housing, that would be cool.
2. Crafting "mentoring" - If you fellow up with other players and all do some crafting, there should be a buff that adds extra craftXP and/or increases chances of critical successes... you could make that buff only available when you have someone who has gained mastery in a higher level (say, you've got three people in a fellowship with foresting: two at journeyman expert and one master artisan - the two lower level foresters would get a buff for extra crafting xp whenever they're doing the crafting within 10ft of the master)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
PvMP skirmishes is a great suggestion!

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing: *edit* visit Fionnuala's recent my.lotro post about housing reform. She spells it out and makes a good case: http://my.lotro.com/fionnuala/2010/0...#comment-380**
The hook system is so frustrating. I've got a gajillion small furn trophies...but no where to put them. Same for lg furn trophies. But thin furniture? I've got EMPTY hooks in my house for those, mainly because I don't want to put a candalabra or flower vase in every corner. There are many trophies that I feel are miscatagorized. A lot of sm furn pieces look SO small and thin that they would fit in the thin furn hook.
I'd also like to see crafting put into the housing instances. As a home-owner, we get discounts in the neighborhood, and as a lot of those items purchased are used for crafting, it makes sense to have the discount vendor near the crafting utilities.
Housing storage needs to accept bound items, just as the shared bank does.
Let us purchase more housing storage chests, or let us purchase an upgrade to our current ones to have more slots.
2. Inventory items:
There are way too many things we have to keep in our packs. You did a great job by taking the horses out of there and making them a skill...but we added on Skirmish marks and all their little friends. My bags are stuffed to the brim! At the least, let us purchase more bags, or purchase an upgrade to our bags to increase their slots.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Questing in the Shire:
I LOVE questing in the Shire...but the content is all such a low level that you don't get to stay there for long. You level up so quickly as a low level, that in no time at all your heading off to Bree for higher level content. I'd like hobbits to be able to level up further in the Shire alone, it's such a wonderful place.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Itemization. Better rewards in instances and raids (particularly BG). Improved, logical stats on purple items so they're not just vendor trash. Pretty much what Southpa said here:

1. Raids, especially if they're going to have much better rewards than BG;
2. Instances, especially if there are more like SG, which is fun, can be challenging and gives decent rewards.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1: Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The LFF tool is terrible. The tool should help people find other people who want to do the same thing so they can work together. The tool should let you specify quests or instances, which classes are required, and so on. A tank should be able to /lff and specify that he is looking for a healer and 4 others to do 2.6.8, not post a general LFF. The system should automatically match him up with other people who have the same goals.
2. The auction house is inferior. It is modeled after WoW's AH. EQ2's broker is superior because it encourages people to trade useful items, fostering a vibrant economy and social interaction, rather than punishing people for offering items for sale by charging them whether an item sells or not and forcing them to continually re-list items.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
So many choices. But to choose one... hm...
I guess I'd suggest relay quests, just because they're something different. Currently the game has two types of quests, solo and fellowship. The problem with fellowship quests is that they require a lot uninterrupted real-time interaction. People with children, for example, may have time to play each day, but not uninterrupted time. The problem with solo quests is that you miss out on half of the fun of an MMO if you play it alone. (Some people don't like fellowship quests at all, and this wouldn't be for them.)
A relay quest would involve multiple players who would each perform a step of a quest, not in real time. Each step would be performed independently and passed on to someone else to complete. If the whole quest line were completed, all players would receive a quest reward.
This would foster teamwork and social interaction between people who cannot remain glued to their computer screens for two hours at a time.
The levels of the participants might not be equal. Perhaps a level 15 burglar could get information from his class trainer that a meeting is being held in Esteldin. Even if he could get there, he wouldn't have the rep needed to get into the meeting, so he'd pass the quest to a level 31 hunter. The hunter might find out that a ranger is being held prisoner in the Dungeons of Dol Guldur, so he'd pass that information to a level 65 warden. If the warden completed the quest, all three of them would receive level-appropriate rewards. The warden could do all 3 parts alone, but it would be a waste of his time to go running all over the world for this quest.
All parts of the quest might not be able to be completed by all classes. A quest might need to be started by a burglar and finished by a healer, for example.
This would let people enjoy the interaction with other people that a fellowship quest gives without feeling guilty when they have to go AFK for ten minutes because hey, is that smoke coming from the kitchen, and just how long ago did I put those cookies in the oven, anyway?
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
This isn't a big deal to me. I don't have a shortage of things to do. I have a shortage of new and interesting things to do.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
Been asking for this stuff for YEARS! Yay, I hope a few of them occur!
1. Kinship Revamp... we have not gotten Kinship love in a very long time. Since Kins are the Cornerstone of the community, I think it's time for new love.
2. Travel. Would love to see improvements to the Travel system. A map that I can select which destinations I can travel to. Swift travel changes from instant to "speedy". You are given the fastest horse, not instant travel!
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
1. I would add flying mounts... but I am not a real LORE person... but if I had to stay within the lore... Mounted Combat / Armoured Mounts!
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. I wish housing had real benefits to give them a real meaning. I want to enjoy it, I want to spend time there, but right now, to me, it's pointless even to visit my house.
2. I Enjoy crafting, but a lot of my characters are capped. There is no real reason (other than money, and I have 75G so don't need that) to craft. I wish there was a way to integrate that into the game more.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The Skirmish system. The rewards for doing those in groups don't motivate people to group up and do them. Right now you get 3 times the skirmish marks by doing them on your own than doing them in groups. Doing a duo skirmish should give you 150% more marks, a 3 man skirmish should give you 200 to 300% more marks, a 6 man should give you at least 400% more marks and a 12 man skirmish should gibe you 600% more marks. This way people will feel motivated to do them in groups and actually feel they are being rewarded by the extra difficulty and the need to rally more people to do them.
2. Fornost Instance: This is a very cool place, but nobody seems to do it. Why? because its too long and difficult and there is no reward for spending 3 to 6 hours in there. Why not add a cool armor set for lvl 40 to compete with the one that is given in aughaire. A ranger armor set like the one that people can get from annuminass but for lvl 40 would be cool and could motivate people to do this cool instance :D
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Leader of the group passive buff. It would be nice to get an extra buff depending who the leader of the group is. This buff can be trained by the amount of time people are leader of groups in instances. Each class can give a different buff to the group. This can be worked just like a deed and will only be given at the beginning of an instance and it will count after 15 minutes of the first mob killed, so it wont change if people swap leadership in the middle of the instance.
lvl 1: its obatined by leading 100 instances.
lvl 2: its obtained by leading 250 instances after lvl 1.
lvl 3: its obtained by leading 400 instances after lvl 2.
Captains: lvl 1: 1.5% more morale and power. lvl 2: 2.5% more morale and power. lvl 3: 3% more morale and power.
Champions: lvl 1: 1% extra dps. lvl 2: 2% extra dps. lvl 3: 3% extra dps.
Hunters: lvl 1: 0.5% extra atk range. lvl 2: 1% extra atk range. lvl 3: 1.5% extra atk range.
Guardians: lvl 1: 1% melee atk defense. lvl 2: 2% melee atk defense. lvl 3: 3% melee atk defense.
Burglars: lvl 1: 1% critical chance. lvl 2: 1.5% critical chance. lvl 3: 2% critical chance.
Lore-masters: lvl 1: 2% wound and disease resistance. lvl 2: 3.5% wound and disease resistance. lvl 3: 5% wound and disease resistance.
Minstrels: lvl 1: 1.5% extra healing. lvl 2: 2% extra healing. lvl 3:3% extra healing.
Rune-Keepers: lvl 1% tactical dmg critical chance. lvl 2: 2% tactical dmg critical chance. lvl 3: 3% tactical dmg critical chance.
Wardens: lvl 1: +100 in combat morale and power regeneration. lvl 2: +150 +100 in combat morale and power regeneration. lvl 3: +225 in combat morale and power regeneration.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Old raids. Maybe implement the same buff you guys implemented for the vol 1 book quest but for old raids like The Rift or Hellegrod.
2. Old instances like Annuminass, Carn Dum or Urugarth. Maybe some new rewards for high lvl characters.
-
Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1:
1. Debuffs, debuffs, debuffs. It seems that less than a quarter of them function as the tooltip says they do - staple skills for the LM and Burg such as fire lore and disable aren't nearly reducing the targets' damage as much as they should. Because of this, the role of both classes has been marginalized, as it is easier to just blast away with damage classes than set up debuffs and controlled pulls at this point.
2. Trait grinding. Killing 300 elite mobs to gain a slight stat bonus is beyond tedious, and has discouraged me from advancing more than one character. The intention of the system, from what I have heard, is to provide a bonus for killing monsters as you level. But by the time I reached 60 (in MoM) most of my necessary virtues were around level 3 or 4, and before being accepted into end-game content, I had to kill thousands (literally) of lower level monsters to get my traits up. Why not make it so the 'good' virtues advance naturally, and the others require you to kill 300 elite trolls in a remote dungeon that nobody goes into anymore? Of the 20 virtues, only about 8 see continuous use among high level characters and it seems unfair that some of those are the hardest to complete.
Question 2: I agree with the random events idea. I think that would be great fun, and add an element of uncertainty to the game. Not much else to say here.
Question 3:
1. Epic books. Please increase the rewards or make them solo - while I will do them for the storyline alone, many people won't because the rewards aren't worth it, meaning I have many uncompleted epic quests in my log because nobody will fellow with me. In fact, why not make all obsolete epic content solo? I literally NEVER see a group forming for content predating volume 2, so I have had to accept that I will never get vol. 1 done, even with my kinship's help.
2. The music system. People use to get together and play once in a while, now it seems like nobody has the time for it... I am a solo lutist now :( I don't know how this could be changed by the developers but I still think it's worth noting.

Well I think the sytem is fine but I would like the oaht of the rangers reward to be grander as it took me a while to get the last skirmish done and i was very dissapointed with what i got but i still find good uses for it. I would like to have new skins for the control pannel. Macro pannels that will initiates squence of ablities that would follow on after each other with 1 button click. (they are somthimes called expert keys/shorcuts)
TeamVsTeam pvp. You make a team of charaters with equal numbers with 'any team combination of characters'. You would have a league tabel as such and the groups would win the challenges in an arena and then would gain infamy/renown for winning each challenge. Then you would have a prize 4 times a year and they would get very very good rewards. I would love to see this in the game
Despite my unwillingness to do crafting I would like it to be easier for the higher leveled charaters get to expert level on their crafting.
I would also like more time for chicken play because i would love to be a chicken more

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Housing needs work...more/better hooks, crafting area, etc.
2.more need to go to under utilized areas...like the fields east of trestlebridge or the lake back there.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
**mounted combat for Rohan**
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.hobbies: need more of them...fishing gets boring
2.music: need easier way of integrating player made music for us non computer friendly types xD

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. I would link stables. For example if I am in The Shire and I want to go to a location that requires three legs, the system should allow me to pick my final destination, figure out the cost for all three legs and take me there with out stoping.
2. Ability to purchase crafting stations for my house. Have different stations that give bonus to crits.
3. Cheating I know. The LFF tool. Since most grouping is pushed to instances, it should let me pick which instance (Not quest step), auto create a group, and when the group is full and everyone selects accept, transport us to the instance. Pipe dream I'm sure LOL.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
While not a gameplay mechanic, I would like to see vendors in my house where I could sell my wares and have them posted longer than 48 hours. Link the items to the AH. However if the person goes to the house and directly purchases there is no fee applied.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Raiding
2. Fishing

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Kinships - costumizable ranks or more of them. Kin alliance tool beyond making a user chat channel for it.
2. LFF panel - make it so you can have more than one quest tagged for lff. also make the the tool more noticable it was about a year or so before i realized we even had one.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Instance scaling- Places like CD/Fornost/rift/uru etc should have a 65 version with rare usable drops, not tokens! They just encourages everyone to run the shortest instance and ignore fun, see SH and GS for proof. No doubt I'd love to still be running those old instances if they were on level and had some loot.
2. Virtues- Some of the bonuses are laughable in today's game and why cap us at 10? If I've put in the time for 15 in valour let me have the bonus, I don't think think an extra ~100 morale is game breaking and is just an annoyance to players that we don't get anything for completion.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be.
New BPE system. Most people I know enjoyed SoA system much more with higher BPE which allowed for better PvE and especially PvP. As a melee range burg with medium armor and no shield for mitigation 11-14% evade is just not enough.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
DoF- Such a good design with great bosses and no one ever goes there. Party because the PvP freep rewards are horrible.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing! I think enough has already been said about it here in this topic.
2. Hobbies. I'd love to see more done with them. Fishing is a good start, but what about things like gardening and games - such as draughts?
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Scalable instances, most likely.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. I never seem to have enough time to grind out radiance gear pieces. Since I'm not in a raiding kinship, it's very hard to find dedicated PUGs. An improved LFF tool might help...
2. Deed grinding. I like the philosophy behind earning skills and virtues via deeds, but I never have the time to actively grind them out.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
I agree with the posts about the houses... Plus they could certainly use more storage space.
Personally, I love the ability to accomplish (previously) group instances that have been made doable solo, with the help of the "inspiration" bonus. Could that be expanded, of course as a player option, to be available on other instances and epic quests? There are a number of epic points upon which I am stuck because I cannot possibly solo them and you can never get a proper fellowship together! Either there's no one around or they are stuck on other epic quests. Very hard to coordinate unless you are lucky, and then someone drops!
On that point, could there be some sort of in-game warning that, for example, prompts you about the approximate time needed for a particular instance? Especially if it is known to be inordinately long? Something like: "This instance typically requires 4 hours to complete"...Such a warning would allow me to budget the time for that particular quest, especially if I am trying to coordinate with others for a good time to attempt it.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. First would be a new way to find groups. No one uses the LFF panel...it may be great, but if no one uses it, there is little point. The only way is begging in the LFF channel...this gets old quickly for both the people begging and the others in the region.
I guess one idea would be kind of a waiting list for a particular quest or instance. If you were wanting to do a particular quest, you could start a list. Maybe you could specify the number of people you'd like and the roles they could fill. As long as you were online and wanting to do the quest, the list would be up for other people to see. If they wanted to do the quest or help out, they could sign up under whatever role. When enough people had signed up, each person on the list gets a message (maybe kind of like the skirmish join icon). The leader would then be able to create the fellowship with those people and make plans to meet up to do it.
This would work best if people could create or sign up for many of these lists at the same time. So, if I have a number of different fellowship quests/instances I'm interested in doing, I could create or sign up on a bunch of lists and just do them as enough people sign up for them.
2. Housing. My house looks practically empty even though I have a dozen decorations sitting in my vault because I don't have enough of the right size slots to put them all up. I'd love to make my house a museum of all the grotesque trophies I've acquired, but right now it looks like an empty dance hall with a couple of wall-hangings and a few miscellaneous items tucked in corners. I cry every time I see a new decoration that is "small furniture".
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
You do realize that just about every response is going to be mounted combat (flying, if possible), don't you? I'll try to come up with something different.
How about siege weapons. Probably someone has thought of this already, but I'll write it up the way I envision it. What if there was a skill that you could use to "build" a sort of siege weapon...a ballista for example. It might take a long time, so you'd want to do it before starting a fight, most likely. Once built, you could fire it off at certain intervals to do a big blast of damage. Maybe they are aggroable like RK rocks so the enemies can come and try to destroy it. I can see that becoming an interesting strat...ballista tanking?
To take this a step further, I could see this as being the basis for a new class. As you progressed you could learn to make different types of large weapons...maybe some are suited to single targets and others are suited for AoE. You could learn to make different payloads that might stun opponents or set off an FM rather than just doing damage...or that had different damage types. You could learn to build them during combat to replace ones that were destroyed. I also see you having your own set of normal combat skills...it wouldn't make sense if someone of this class could just go around one-shotting everything with a massive weapon. The siege weapons would be powerful enough to do a lot of damage, but not so much that solo quests are trivial.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Raiding. I love raiding. I love doing crazy, hard stuff and just being happy that we made it a little bit further than we did last time. For whatever reason, it just never seems to happen though. Some people have RL. Some people don't like doing anything if it's almost certainly going to end in failure and large repair bills. Some people think only in terms of the loot and don't care for the challenge and friendship aspect. Whatever the reason, we only had 3 people show up at the last scheduled BG raid and it bites.
2. Session play. Last night some of my kinnies and I were reminiscing on the "The Fall of Moria" and "We Cannot Get Out" session play instances. Wow...being right in the middle of historic points in time. Very neat.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Skirmish System - This is my favorite part of the game atm and I'm hoping to see the
number of skirmishes and rewards increased in future updates/expansions. I would
love to see all of the Teal Items, Medallions for Radiance Gear and Symbols for 2nd
age and 1st age [when introduced] weapons/class runes available through Skirmishing
[by drops in the skirmish or purchasable with skirmish marks].
2. Crafting System - Just as craftable runes were made available for a 4th slot on LI's
through guild recipes....offer new Guild Recipes to craft Settings Gems and Runes
for the first 3 LI slots, as an alternative to those available through the Ranked Tier
System [by deconstructing relics].
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
1. Allow the Soldier-Allies created for Skimishes to be used in REGULAR game play for small
fellowship quests [ONE OR TWO as needed].
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. End-Instances/Raids [In my Kinship, the majority of players begin to group at the
same time that I need to log out to go to bed for work the next day [because of
difference in time zones]. When I try to attend a scheduled event, they will often
last until 1 or 2AM the next day because of late starts, people dropping group,
wipes, etc..
2. Grinding to Cap Virtues. Because mobs required are in group instances or it takes
so long to get the required quests done, I will start working on them then leave
for weeks at a time because I only have limited time and there are too many
more "immediate" things that need to be done.

Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The ability to display more data in the crafting dialog. I do not mean simply scaling the text bigger, I mean more lines of text. I find it very annoying that I cannot grab the bottom bar and drag it down to display more recipes
2. Redesign of houses. Free form placement of hooks, allow items to be placed on hooks (like swords, armour and other items we pick up). Put the houses on the landscape as was done in AC1 (I want to be able to SEE out my windows!!). If you want to go overboard give me operable windows, curtains and physics simulation of the curtains blowing in the wind.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Self created quests. For example I needed to hunt down the resources to craft a number of items over several weeks. I kept losing the piece of paper where I had written down the data. It would be cool if I could make a list and add it as a quest it would let me keep track of this. Perhaps allow people to have 10 self created quests (so they don't count towards the current quest limit). The quests would of course not have a reward.
The only other game mechanic I really want is collisions. I want the meat shield to be able to do their job.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Exploring to find unique and remote views that take advantage of the work of the artists and my video card
2. Fishing

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
Virtue System and how it can tie into traits or bonuses - don't just raise the cap, have certain combinations mean things. We don't necessarily need something as in 3/5, 4/5 or 5/5 of a group but like FMs have all kinds of little bonuses if you have 2 virtues of <n> rank equipped you get +150 to Shadow Mitigation. The possibilities there are endless.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Greater customization through being given points that can be assigned to any stat.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
Raiding - wish i could do more but when i get more than an hour's worth of time i spend it in PvMP.

1. Weapon cosmetics
2. More hobbies
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I'd add a new weather system.
- 4 weather options to chose from (class 0 to class 4)
- Each class would have its magnitude of how much weather effects there would be (class 0 being none for performance and class 4 being ultimate ( I rate the current amount of weather that we have ingame as class 1 )

1. Housing system - revise housing to make it a place people want to go to and call 'home' as opposed to a place that people go to drop stuff off and pick stuff up. Add a reason to go home - a 1/2 hour buff with a 1-day cool down of some kind gained from doing certain amount of decorating to the house, or so much work in a garden, or so much cleaning - gutters, windows, etc. Or some buff for resting and drinking in one's own home or kinhouse for a certain amount of time. Heck...allow players to purchase a modification to housing that would add a superior crafting station or two.
2. Crafting - revise crafting such that it is more interactive and includes more increments of 'quality'. For example, revise the system such that characters would need to move between several stations, adding certain components and/or ingredients at certain times at each station. Depending on how close to a specific time one got, the better the buffs on a given crafted item would be. As the character went up in crafting tier rank, the greater the margin of error for each station work would be. So hitting each station perfectly might allow a metalsmith to create some Khazad Steel mithril laced armor with +45 Might and +35 Agility vs not hitting perfectly might mean the armor has a +22 might and +18 Agility. The higher the crafting tier rank, the more stations the character would need to go to during the crafting process and the more opportunity for mistakes and imperfections, but also there would be the opportunity to make a great item.

1. Epic Book Quests - I really enjoy them, but some of the quests have become quite...epic...in length and/or group size to do and it just seems I don't regularly have the amount of time to dedicate to the Books in Moria
2. Raiding - I enjoy the concept, but the amount of time it takes to get the prerequisites such as radiance gear, never mind actually running through the raid, is just daunting.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. LFF system - remove automatic zone filtering, remove quest preset names (so we can search for groups for alt characters), add fellowship/raid formation facility, and, basically, make it as easy and useful as World of Warcraft's "dungeon finder" feature.
2. Inventory system - Move abstract skirmish marks into abstract bag; make faction items consumable; make crit crafting materials stored in the vault usable at the workbenches, forges, and studies.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Doom. Acquired thru future Book (branching) storylines, and perhaps considerably rare world "drops", that grant powerful individual, fellowship-wide, or raid-wide effects at the cost of a commensurate debilitating effect. A player would arrange and choose their doom in the similar way that traits are managed, but perhaps have a more strategic cooldown before they can be reconfigured.
Doom effects will tend to be dramatic but not necessarily predictable. They do not have cooldowns, but rather proc conditions and countereffects. They are also not toggled or activated, but are everpresent auras (persistent buffs).
Example 1: A doom that saves a character from a single defeat that is triggered by taking a minimum of 4000 damage in the previous combat event that would have defeated them. This doom takes hold only once every three minutes. Countereffect: Cannot use morale and power potions.
Example 2: A doom that decreases healing power costs by 100%, increases healing output by 100%, and increases healing hate generation by 50%, once their power passes below 25%. The effect lasts until the end of the battle. Countereffect: healing hate generation increases by 50%, maximum morale reduced by 30%.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Induction based skills: The induction timer itself is the cost to cast said spell/effect. I think setback from damage should be removed from all induction based skills. Maybe increase some timers, but remove setback from damage. Interrupts from stuns, immediate skills etc should still apply.
2. Virtue/Trait system. The virtues should all apply to inherent character stats. Shouldn't be any need to swap them out. The trait system is a nice start, but should make it more appealing to customization: allow us to slot class skills in for legendary traits should we not desire legendary traits.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat. Add a new skills class of "Mounted" like Fast, immediate etc that allows us to use skill with 10/15 sec or less timers. Anything over 10/15 secs could be a bit over the top. (No horse back Epic Conclusions is what I'm hinting at lol)
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. End game raids. Simply remove the excessive trash pulls. Quality over quantity makes the game great. Otherwise it just burnout material.
2. Skirmishes. Sometimes the counter attacks just eat up time. Remove the bulk, let us run run run w/o grind grind grind.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Infused Shard solo instances in Dolven View: It would be great if they became skirmishes, but with two very vital factors remaining. Please do not make them any longer than they currently are, it is nice that they can be done quickly. Simply add a random boss at the end, let us bring in our soldier, and give us a bit of skirmish marks for completion in addition to our current rewards.
2. Mark rewards bartering for Chests of Relics, typically you only get a t1 relic from the Chest, thats just silly, the book quests should get a better reward than a t1 relic.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted Combat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
My vision for mounted combat is that you get a buff to offense and defense while moving, if you stand still you lose the buff, and each class only has a very limited number of skills that they can use while mounted, 1 or 2 attacks, and 1 or 2 class skills.
So while mounted you are very hard to hit, very durable and very fast, but you have to keep moving, if you stop you are easily dismounted.

1.1 Housing. please make it more of an open mechanic, without false constraints on number and placement of objects.
1.2 Gear. please create more gear at end-game levels to reflect and encourage different looks and playstyles. As mentioned many times in other threads, there are very few viable options for each class, therefore players all pretty much look the same and have the same gear. Everyone knows what the uber hunter gear is, uber LM gear, etc. If we had multiple viable options (possibly even just one set for each stance per class, giving stat buffs, but also maybe buffing that stance a little) i would be a major improvement.
2.1 Scalable instances (not skirmishes). To scale Rift, etc, up to current level cap.
3.1 PvMP
3.2 6, 12, 24 man groups...older stuff (hard to get groups together for current rewards)

Housing. I'll highlight my take-away points so they don't get lost in the brainstorming.
I want free-decoration, but at least we need more hooks. New house floorplans would be nice, but are less important.
I also feel that every object should do something when used, as candles light and mushrooms make you vomit. Funny stuff is nice; useful stuff is better. Like how in Asheron's Call, it was possible to get hookable portals that teleported the player to various areas of the world (judging by the Inn League kegs, you can already do this). Or add-on to the craft system. Small yard Chicken Coops that produce Eggs, medium yard Sheep Pens to produce mutton, and large yard Cattle Pens to produce beef.
There's a lot of stuff that can be done here. Wells you can draw Water from. Barbeque Pits that serve as permanent Campfires. Vegetable Gardens that actually allow you to grow vegetables. Horse Stables that allow you to breed horses for coat color/pattern, speed, and "hit points." Garden Gnomes that buff your Farming crit rate.
A deeper and more difficult problem is that there is little reason to visit our neighborhoods. I've had a house for two years, and visit at least once every couple of days. In all that time, I've run into other people people in my neighborhood only twice.
Neighborhoods are dead, dead, dead.
There need to be more critical services to get people to go - and linger -there. This could be something new, or it could access to old features. BreeBay. Craft stations. Town criers that give actual news on the state of the world. Stables with fast travel to every major town or raid entrance in the game (more expensive, naturally). Heck, move some of the Festival events in there.
There also needs to be some sort of "eminent domain," where people who've canceled their accounts for some time have their houses freed up for purchase by others. Half the houses in my neighborhood are locked for non-payment. Boarded up houses make the dead neighborhoods problem even worse than it already is.
I don't have another system that wasn't proscribed.
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
CoX-like sidekicking/exemplaring. For those unfamiliar with it, this allows a PC to temporarily raise or lower their level to match that of another player they're grouped with. This might not be a good fit with lotRO, but I'm very fond of the accessibility it allows. Newbs can play with their level 65 friends.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Additional lore-based Racial abilities/traits to give some more differentiation. For example, dwarves should be able to mine more out of nodes, or have an extra sense when they are in caves, dark places, or underground. Elves might get a speed walking bonus in forested areas, or even get something like animal whispering where they temporarily tame a wild animal to help them out in a fight. Hobbits might always be able to cook a special hobbit food, or get extra crit buffs for hobbit cooks. Not sure about men. Maybe nothing since men are bland. These abilities should also have levels so a high level hobbit can cook the certain hobbit recipes much better than one just starting out.
2. Hobbies. I like the smoking ideas (Gandalf could blow some serious smoke!) or gem collecting. There should be some nice rewards for completing full sets of things. (Yeah, I know, sounds alot like webkinz)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Skill points. Looking forward, our skill bars are already full, so I'm thinking what can we do for levels 65 - 100 (just guessing what the ultimate lvl cap might be lol)? Have skill points that can improve existing skills either with additional damage, hit chance, crit chance, or decrease the cooldown that we can apply to whatever skills we want. Once spent, you can never get it back again, though. High amounts of skills spent on related skills would result in additional bonuses so a player could choose to dump all points into a specific area for focused customization or spread out and generally improve, but not specialized.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. festivals
2. hobbies
(Maybe I don't find the time, cause its not really worth it to me)

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The LFF/LFP system needs help. The biggest problems, as I see them, are that players can not tag themselves as LFF for more than one quest at a time, once you do form a fellowship there is a separate interface for the fellowship teader to turn on LFP (Looking For Players), LFP is not automatically populated with the fellowship members' existing LFF advertisements, and LFF is turned off for all members and they have to consciously turn LFF back on once the fellowship dissolves.
What I'd like to see:
A) Let us check a box in our quest list for each quest we want to LFF, up to 5 or 6 quests. If that is too cumbersome then just make it so that anything in our quest tracker is advertised as LFF when we have LFF selected.
B) When a fellowship is formed, merge all members' LFF selections into the group's LFP advertisement.
C) Reduce the LFP interface to show only the LFF selections for each member, a display of which members have those quests, a check box by each selection to enable or disable LFP for that quest (defaulting to Enabled), a field for a custom LFF/LFP message, and a checkbox to enable/disable LFP (defaulting to enabled if the fellowship leader is marked LFF). This, of course, would be a tool for the fellowship leader.
D) Have the LFF search interface also return results for groups LFP. It may no longer be nessasary to use separate terminoloy for players LFF and groups LFP
E) Have a player's LFF state be preserved through joining and leaving a fellowship. Only clear the selections when logging off or a player chooses to no longer be LFF
2. Crafting professions need an adjustment in item values. In a working economy, finished goods are worth more than the raw materials that went into them. In LOTRO crafting, the reverse is true. Raw materials are worth more than finished goods. That is just considering vales for selling to vendors, not other players. I can harvest raw materials, refine them, make a worthwhile item, sell it back to a vendor, and have less money at the end of the day than if I had just vendored the raw materials. This is because crafting was conceived as a money sink. I feel that this was a mistake. Especially now that the game is well established and the server populations have matured, the money sink aspect only harms new players who are just starting out crafting.
When a player starts a character down a new crafting career, established players have the option of buying the raw materials at the AH and powering their way through crafting. This is a money loosing proposition, as it should be. But new players don't have this option. They generally have to harvest all their own materials, and yet they still loose money when crafting items. I feel that if a person is investing their time to do everything on their own, they should not also have to bleed cash every step of the way. Players should have to invest money or time, not both. Farming was modified to work in this way, and yet that did not create rampant inflation.
Another side effect of the crafting money sink is that players leveling up new crafting professions dump massive quantities of goods on the AH at below the cost of production. Players do it because the prospect of recouping a little money on the AH is better than selling the stuff back to vendors at an even bigger loss. Established players can afford to loose the money. New players can not, making it even harder for new players to break into the crafting market.
The solution is to adjust item values for all crafting professions so that a player who collects all the raw materials themselves and buys only the required necessary extra items from vendors; they should be able to sell the finished goods back to a vendor at cost. This would have several positive effects. New players would be able to sustain their own crafting and level up without being perpetually broke. Established players power leveling new crafting professions will be more likely to just sell the stuff back to a vendor rather than bothering with the modest to meager profits available from the AH because it wouldn't be worth the risk and expense of posting goods that may not sell. It would raise the price for finished goods on the AH to the level where a starting player can sell their goods for a modest profit. In most cases this will be a rise of just a few silver, but that will be enough and not raise prices to the point where they are out of reach for other new players looking for goods to buy on the AH.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Level scale-back for players doing under leveled instances. Possibly the same for fellowships. I'd love to do many of the older, mid-level instances and fellowship quests, but it's hard to get players at level for the instances. I can get high level kinship members to help me but that is not as much fun. I'd rather have the high-level fellowship members scaled back and let us experience the content as it was intended.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.HOUSING-
(a)Kin neighborhoods. Allow a kinship to purchase a neighborhood that has several small houses with one larger "activity" house.
(b)New neighborhoods for higher lvl toons in higher lvl areas.
(c)Allow the chests in personal houses to tie in to our personal shared storage so that all our toons can access the storage there and not have to then go and use the shared storage broker. Too much running back and forth.
2. Deeds/Traits-
Instead of killing x amount of creatures for x deed/trait, allow players to complete a deed, gain a point, and spend it on the virtue of their choosing.

World-join pvp. Nothing fancy, but something that you can be in bree and join.
