A Mass Transfer to YOUR Server?

A lot of servers are dying out - especially in the Moors. Many people want action, but don't want the constant RvR and lag associated with Brandywine. I'm trying to organize those who enjoy small group PvP into picking an alternative mass transfer location, in the hopes of creating a mid-high population moors with a retained focus on small group action. I've set an arbitrary minimum of 50 people committed to transferring a character - certainly not enough to serve as a decent moors population in itself, but enough to hopefully get things started. It looks like we'll hit that number relatively soon, and now we need to get some information on what server might be the best choice as a small-group, Brandywine alternative.

I'm curious about the state of your server. Answers to any of these questions would be much appreciated!

1) What is the current state of your PvP? Freep dominated? Creep dominated? Flipper dominated?
2) What is your creep population like? Are there quality tribes? Are there a decent amount of high ranked creeps left playing?
3) What is your freep population like? PvP kins? High ranked freeps?
4) Do you currently have Raid v Raid at peak hours?
5) Would a mass transfer of PvP'ers be welcomed or shunned?
6) How is your 1v1 scene here? Is it frowned upon with lots of 1v1 gankers and OOC hate? Or are there a decent amount who enjoy it?

1.) Right now I'd say it's borderline even. Not too many of either side, although it looks like the action might finally be picking up.
2.) Many of our high ranked Creeps seem to have transferred or retired. There are still some left, however. A couple of quality tribes.
3.) Freep Pop is decent. Same situation as the creeps in terms of high ranks
4.) Mostly evening RvR lately.
5. ) I believe it would be welcomed.
6.) 1v1s are pretty big here. So is ganking :P.

We would welcome any xfers, I see signs of Ridder going back to the way it used to be, if slowly. Send me a tell in game, I am usually on Valerial, Thunderstaff or Thunderblades on Ridder. Be glad to roll a greenie with you to show you around

The OOC hate has quelled, it was second to none for years here. That is a double edged sword, I for one welcome OOC hate to an extent, as it usually makes for good fights.

Server is dead. I came back to check it out and was literally the only person in the moors a few nights ago. As far as Brandy goes it's not constant lag just every once in awhile around the huge fights. It's the last bastion of moors action, there are constant solo's & small groups roaming along with the RvR fights. I've seen names from 7 years ago out there. Might as well bite the bullet and go to where you'll know there are quality players still.

So let me get this straight. You are inviting us to transfer to the server you deem best, but only fifty players? Do you really think you will get fifty people to transfer or reroll? You know that what ever server you choose will become the biggest troll hive around.

A noble thought, but I don't think you will be able to command the masses so fluidly.

And to answer one of your questions, 1v1s are the primary action I see, sometimes it evolves into a zergball, but usually people just log. These people have lives, aside from me and axyle.

We will hold a vote among the people who committed to transferring a character, if we reach 50. I'm simply gathering information about each potential transfer server in a public way that other people can review, too, if they wish. My intention is to provide small write-ups for each server when it comes time to vote, based on responses here, talking to other players, and checking glff and lvl 100, non-anon populations at various times.

As for the number 50, I have no delusions that 50 will serve as a moors population in itself (although 50 dedicated PvP'ers would probably be an improvement over a lot of moors, at this point). The hope is 50, on top of the natives, will provide a nice initial spark and encourage other people to follow suit, creating a Brandywine alternative for those who aren't as keen on RvR. Hopefully it would give returning natives of that server more reason to stick around, too.

I originally posted it as a shot in the dark, being frustrated myself. We have 30 right now, and a lot of them seem pretty enthusiastic about it. It might not hit 50 - in which case I'll just make the decision to either stay, quit the game, or transfer my main to BW - but it was worth a try. It just seems dumb that its either Brandywine or bust, at this point, when every small-pop server has leftovers that would like to actually find something in the moors on a regular basis. And if a lot of those people are like myself and just want to solo/small-group, why not join up and try to make option b?

I'm sure you're right, it will attract a few trolls. The ones who've committed that I know personally, however, are quite the opposite (about half, atm). Tbh, though, as a person who tends to just ./popcorn when the trolls come out to play, I'd welcome a couple good ones :P Can make for some great pvp.

I think this is a great idea Harman. I don't know about other servers but on ridder there are quite a few who would be happy to participate in helping action return to the moors. That said the situation currently is pretty dire. There are generally a few 1v1s in the evening which can then turn into 1-2 hours of RvR until one side gets too many numbers and the other logs at which point 1v1s sometimes resume for an hour or so. For the rest of the day though there is absolutely nothing. I think often people come out one by one see nothing out and then leave. When there is action numbers tend to amalgamate relatively quickly indicating there are still pvmpers out there. Based on that I believe most people would be extremely happy if a mass transfer to this server was to materialize. Currently I would say more creeps are needed, or at least creep leaders willing to include anyone online into their raids. I think 50 people would be enough to kick start a server back into action and would entrain even more xfers. On a personal note: please xfer here...although realizing this may not be the best alternative, please keep us posted on where you guys end up as I and I am sure a few others are interested in potentially joining you.

Cig, while you were gone, a bunch of Riddermark-ians went to Landy and BW with a few more scattered about on different servers. Some of the ones that went to Landy have started migrating to BW, which is where I have transferred most of my toons.

Sure there is lag and sure I get my ar$e zerged to oblivion, but there is action 24/7 of all kinds which is the most important, imo. Who wants to PvP in a graveyard by yourself?

As an aside - It's fun to finally be on the OP side instead of always choosing to be on the underpowered side because I still mainly solo and challenge myself to get a kill inside of a creep zerg. Freeps are still going to get even more op with the new Essence PvP gear and it will be even more fun trying to solo fight a horde. Something you used to be famous for, Cig, you actually might want to dust off your burg for this one.

Miss you Runicon. Ive got a few toons still in Dark Impulse, some in WKSL on BW. I talk with Goth daily, he aint coming back so DI has no hope. Havent seen Hurth in forever since he got lead. Ive given BW a long time, had some great fights in tribe or kin, solo, or Raid, but I just cant stomach the constant GV camp. Or taking my cappy out to fight 8 spiders with 8 pocket defilers. To each their own, but I'd rather pick up sticks at ridder than that. I am probably suffering from delusions of grandeur that things will be the way they used to be for years here.

Truth is: They are not. It is sad at most times. But hey, I dont play as much as I used to. My 24/7 time I used to commit is gone, and since I can only play a few hours a week, I will be on ridder doing what I can to help it get better.

Yeah I saw you out there pushing craids, good stuff bro. I've been on there a week it's been good so far. I don't know I'm still kind of burnt out on burgs, WL's are big, dumb and easy to play buzzed. Although I never messed with a warden too much... and the name Raidino (just checked) is available on Brandy lolol, only the Ridder vet transfers would get it though. I might roll one up.

Quietly Landy has had some good small group action during the day and RvR on prime time. The numbers are pretty close but typically creeps have the edge. So its not just Brandy and nothing else.

Maybe I should check out either Brandywine or Landy. Sounds like it's more fun than Ridder atm.

I'm keeping a home base on Ridder, but the dead-ness (I just made a word!) of the server is starting to get to me.

I have a WL in TWKSL, maybe I'll dust it off.

While I have a couple of freeps still on Ridder, the bulk of all my toons, including all my creeps still reside on BW. The action there has been nice the past few nights, so ill keep creeping there. I still hold hope that ridder will pick up, but it is a challenge. I ride around with my mini for hours on end and flip ops and explore the delving or take relics cause there is little else to do. There are some good small group fights, but not common.

Crime, was good to fight beside you last night. Seems we bring our Ridder flair still, eff it attitude lol

Well, good luck with them, both! I hope you will find what you're looking for in those 2 servers, as far as PvP's concerned.

While more and more new players decide to try firstly Gladden because of the forums' statistics, it's a common secret; the majority of the "hardcore" PvPers from every US server

take the risk and join Brandywine.

Personally, I support the new entries there, because I have seen them improving themselves quite fast. Moreover, I have faith to the new high ranked transfers there, because

most of them are very experienced in PvP stuff. Their will to try might help LOTRO PvMP itself!

As for Landrover server, idk; all I know is that quite few players from there have already xferred to Brandywine. Correct me, if I am wrong.

That being said, if you really want to have some very cool GvG/RvR fights against some very good and respectable foes, then Brandywine is what you're looking for! No doubt it!

In other words, Brandywine is your " A m e r i c a n D r e a m ", if I may say so!

Well, I find very hopeful the fact that Yelk visits Ettenmoors these days, but you know him! According to his last opinion about LOTRO PvMP, there is nothing tempting in PvP area

nowadays, especially for the veterans! The same time, he very often likes testing his gear/LIs in Ettenmoors for several purposes. Personally, I'd like to see him coming back and

start leading freeps once again : he's a very smart guy, skilful hunter and very respectable leader! I vote he comes back!

As for Master Yand, I think that he wrote in forums that he's not forming any raid, unless they solve some annoying things, such as multiboxing.
