But how did you deduce it would be an event? "Something secret" could be some thing to which access is being granted - an object, a location, an objective. And therein another question - will it become available for good or for a limited time only? If it is secret, will we even know it is available? The "Good luck!" implies it won't be a gimmie to figure out. But the speculation is fun, and here it begins :)
I immediatly thought of the secret door above the Stronghold of the North but it stated something about the light of the ending day (sundown).
I never waited long enough in testing to see if it revealed.
I do love things like this!
And the episodic
ow boy love to see all the crazy theories people would think about!!!!!!!!!!!!
think simple dont expect much!!!
remember its SSG, you might get disapointed......
(ssg emblem for anniversary reward..........what a tart.........)
:P
on the other hand.......
they did a good job with BB episodes
a refreshing good work i d say..........
want nothing less!!! expecting anything!!!
demanding a castle for my 10 years efforts !!!
a small area with a town, fields, n to raise my herds n army!
goodluck to me!
March 21st is listed as the day Aragorn delivered Gollum to Thranduil's court - so a fitting date given the Update 22 content.
As to what it's gonna be, an extra quest maybe? Or location/item to be found?
The timing of it might potentially be telling, March 20/21 being the spring equinox on the threshold of increasing daylight. Given where we are in the Lotro open world, with Mordor landscape finally accessible, this March presents the first-ever in-game occasion to celebrate the destruction of the Ring and downfall of Barad-dûr. This itself historically takes place March 25, but perhaps some kind of lead-up to it, or a few days' grace to let players figure out whatever needs to be figured?
The quests in Mordor expansion begin after it has already happened. But hard to imagine letting a historic occasion like this go by without marking it in some way this March. This timing can't be coincidental... and the "equinox" threshold between the two Ages, heralding diminishing darkness, is too singular a moment not to commemorate it in some way.
There are a couple more things that happened in the year Sauron was destroyed. It looks like the fourth age doesn't start until the following year. So we have Bard II becoming King of Dale and also Thorin III Stonehelm becoming King of Erebor. Too many kings.. lol!
perhaps a tad off topic, but I would surely like to fantasize about the secret thing being a new pipeweed to celebrate the 21st, perhaps a sort of "corrupted" strain :)
Be interesting to see what they do. In terms of the in-game chronology, March 21st is already past, as the Ring was destroyed on the 25th.
I reckon its a secret door into another area of Erebor (lonely mountain) to be revealed by starlight :D
probably linked to the episodic story arc they are bringng out.
Maybe it's a wedding! *hope, hope*
cosmetic rot maggot pet in lootboxes!!
Inb4 the snark posts start.
I myself hope it's something all can share in. (and yes I do have level capped toons)
THE BIG PVMP UPDATE! ... *slaps himself out of a dream*
Well if you look at the map of u22, there is part of the top blocked off including Dale which is surrounded by a wall --> might be a stronghold so could be related to that as strongholds are the new end game feature.
Could be a story or even big event to unlock it (maybe some will remember the anuminas event or similar server wide events)
My bet is on Aragorn and Arwen's marriage.
I wonder if the "Good luck!" refers to some sort of scavenger hunt like with the anniversary..
Maybe....we're taking Bingo to Mordor!
Bingo has to see where the ring was destroyed!
Yea...that's got to be it! :o:o
Sharpen your fireworks! Err...wait. Hey, be careful where you stick that thing!
On a serious note..no idea! But secrets are better than telling us or throwing it up on BR so folks can practice "it." If I was to take a completely wild guess it would be a scavenger hunt. A competition between servers sort of thing feels a little less likely due to big pop differences now (but Ark would certainly be a big player if so!). Whatever it is, the fact that we're excited to try to figure it out means it's a good idea and they should do more of these, I think.
SSG gives out free stuff?
Maybe time to dust off the old horseshoe..
“I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led. And through the air, I am he that walks unseen.
I am the clue-finder, the web-cutter, the stinging fly. I was chosen for the lucky number.
I am he that buries his friends alive and drowns them and draws them alive again from the water. I came from the end of a bag, but no bag went over me.
I am the friend of bears and the guest of eagles. I am Ringwinner and Luckwearer; and I am Barrel-rider.” - J.R.R. Tolkien

Reminder smaug broke the secret door that was once use by Thorin and company, its not there anymore only its remnants remain, so its definitely not that.
Found a few things that happened that date.
http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/21_March
Lotro epic book 10 and as said earlier Gollum gets to meet Thranduil, for an evening of wine and dancing.
Also some references to Tolkien letters regarding the Hobbit, U22 is in that vicinity after all.
Update 2 also involved Annuminas (plus Radiance gone, wohooo! Then we got same named LoE 6,5 years later, not so wohooo.
My wild guess out of the blue, the Rangers in Annuminas finally get their win. They are worth it after all this time battling countless Angmarians charing at them.
Looking forward to some exciting and sneaky released secrets.
Bingo Boffin sends you a letter and tells you he wants to go to Mordor.
Still, I think that this is what the surprise will be. Harkenheim seems to be rather close when saying,
because right now I am standing at 31.8N, 27.7W, and the description of this place is a perfect match for his theory.
How I got there? Well, I was exploring, and found that the Raven's Hill is not yet the end of the world. By the way: the view there is breathtaking, and even if for no other reason, everybody should go there at least once. ´
Edit: It is even much easier than I first thought, just follow the cliff.
Greetings, Polymachos
Personally I don't think the date has ANY significance to the event. I suspect that the event might start at midnight.
That way it would start at 3/21 at 00:00.
I see what you did there....
--------------------------------------------------------
For those who think it's the secret door, technically it would be lorebreaking even if fixed.
"Durin's Day was a yearly event noted by the Dwarves, "when the last moon of Autumn and the sun are in the sky together" (i.e., until sunset) on first day of the dwarves' New Year, which was "the first day of the last moon of Autumn on the threshold of Winter."" IT AINT AUTUMN!
Maybe it is just an early April Fool joke from SSG. Lol, I am just kidding.
I rarely see LOTRO team gives an Easter Egg like this. Are they inspired by the upcoming movie "Ready Player One" where players go hunting for an Easter Egg?

Here's one of my favorites

Hmmm, Thinking on this. Perhaps they just baited us to see just how big a thread can get about it. :p
Maybe the Bindbole kid will make an appearance after not being seen since 2015.
It's Leprechauns! Here's the proof:
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.n...1EA15E3A2FDB0/
Only Leprechauns can make a Rainbow happen at night.
I'd be surprised if it was, but I'll be sure to look in the area on the 21st of march anyway. But have to understand words "Broke the door" I don't think it magically fix itself, but perhaps Maybe the dwarves did fix/remade a new secret door with in the last 60 years? :)
Weekly Fortress Attack Quests.
Some nice guesses in this thread, but timelines may have something to do with those maybe.
I think (and its just a wild guess, based on "Good Luck" and the fact that we're at Erebor) . . .
Treasure Hunt Encore, but, in the halls of Erebor, looking for small treasures left behind.
Maybe the decided to add Isabela's Tavern to Dale.
Please keep in mind these are my personal predictions only ~
Implying clearly the official statement of March 21st: Secret Event It would have certainly nothing to do with Tolkien timeline events nor past Game Update releases
For example on March 21 2011 – Update 2: Echoes of the Dead, the second update of The Lord of the Rings Online, is released in North America.
• 2011 – Principal photography for The Hobbit (film series) begins. I knew it. A lot of players shall start connecting or trouble their mind with these past events. Perhaps that is exactly what they wish.
~ T.A. 3019: Frodo and Samwise continue their journey along the road to Barad-dûr. An eventual Session play. Sauron has been vanquished. I do not believe it.
Tis in a way too miss-leading ,simple and uncomplicated. I suspect we are in for something totally unexpected unrelated to the official Lore of Tolkien's Legendarium.
Non cannon, shocking, bewildering, maybe even Amusing. A closely connected to Episodic content.
We players have to figure it out , discover and I predict it wont have 115 Level only requirements.
Regarding the Secrets Doors of Erebor {The Lonely Mountain} "Secret event" The discovery of the door was too straight-forward and simple , Let us say effortless, Ascending up and to the right ,Bam. Even new music started to play. I've been there in BETA, I even recorded the video, Tis highly improbable, if it does proven right, than its not a secret. Undemanding.
Possible scenarios ~ A sudden Auto mail , March 21, We players have to figure it out and series of quests start, each new quest follows up every week , Similar as Ballad of Bingo Boffin, but then again , One must ask ? Why would I receive a mail and be even informed if its a secret?
Strange new creatures , happenings start to appear in the world, Clues are given, but who shall be the sharpest witted to discover thy location or mysteries.
A secret event ~ Not meant to be known or seen. A start on the exact date. Having a huge bright shinning light on the sky pointing to the direction A is not a secret at all or could it be to fool someone? The fact is there are
are hundreds, thousands of different Probabilities, outcomes and theories , ultimately all of them should taken in the account, except one, Did they made a joke? Tis unthinkable.
Secret Raid on the Dale-men's Cram factory in Dale. We are looking for the secret formula for the Crams, hidden for Ages from the peoples of Middle Earth. ;)
Probably bigger chance to get stuff from lootboxes and keys 25% pricier on store.
No one understood the Isabela reference
I am almost too surprised to be disappointed.
I am disappointed.

Oh, I never played that one, sorry. I remember looking into it back when it was all the rage and but I don't remember why I decided against it - I seem to remember having some kind of trouble getting it to work on my machine at the time.
I looked that up earlier this morning and it seemed to be the the only reasonable Isabela that would fit in that context.
We are back in Erebor, and my guess is we getting a new scavenger hunt - searching for long missing gold or gems - maybe in the Lonely Mountain!
Rebuilding of Dale and of Lake-town, why not. Its possible....
Just my 2 cents
Ziv
Brogur says: "Help us bring the glory back to Moria! Now that you have got to Erebor, a glorious secret quest is now available to you. Bring something (I don't know) from Erebor to Moria, and March to the Twenty-first Hall! Keep this quest in secret and don't let them discover! Good luck!"Quote:
Quests and Adventure Areas
Something secret will become available on March 21st. Good luck!
So looks like our guess is right! *PLINK*
Where do you know your guess was right? Any indication?
Listen to Brogur...
...find somethin in Erebor...
*Secret quest* and the words *Good Luck*
Moria could be involved, the hint is there. And as I know the developers we run around all over the world - scavenger hunt like ;)
Bring A to B then C to D and after a couple of hrs YY to ZZ - done...
Clean your boots! Its travel time!
For Time Travel play Star Trek Online. :D
I figured the '21' think, so it is going to be Isabela's tavern with a:
https://img00.deviantart.net/55ed/i/...14-da80xmt.png
Floid and Dewitt finally show up again :)
My guess is it's Bingo related or is not an event at all as we have springfest and the anniversary event coming up so soon. Rumor I heard was that it's female dwarves being added to the store, but this seems super unlikely given that they would want to put that out for feedback first like they did with the dwarf/man/elf revamps.
This is exciting!
It makes me think it'll be the secret door into Erebor, but anything could be a secret.
If we find that blonde bowl cut with a stupid grin waiting for us outside though I'm gonna laugh and cry in equal measure.
Actually if you visit the Suggestions Forum you'll see how there has been feedback on this issue nearly non-stop since Beta.
Personally I hope so for I have two available slots just for female dwarves and enough money in my Steam Wallet to buy inventory slots, travel cd reducers, etc. to bring them up to 'usable' for me.
Maybe there's something akin to class balance coming?
But who am I kidding...
they release the fabled 64 bit client. Lol I wish...
so dailies opened up:
https://i.imgur.com/cQTMFJj.jpg
and with them a new deed called "The Lay of Rust and Rhyme: The First Verse"
https://i.imgur.com/shoj5of.jpg
Today is 14 March and patch notes initially mentioned a special reward becoming available on March 21st.
This could be it or there could yet be something more in store for us. Also "The First Verse" implies there could be also be a second verse...
I'm hoping it opens the quest "The key and the keyhole", rewarding the new goat !
The quest that started that deed was called something like "ballad of frost and whatever" and it was about searching for the weeping warrior and the frost dragon stuff. as we find out, he drags power from dead dragons... and I guess, we'll follow his path in this ballad.
Regarding this special event, two questions:
- Is it going to only happen today (as in, will whatever happens remain in the game after first being made accessible today, or will it disappear after today)?
- Will it be accessible by all, or do you need to have finished the current area to access it?
It would be useful if this could be confirmed so that we know what sort of thing we are looking for today!
To all of the people speculating about the 21st... if you open up your Mount Collections you will see a new Goat for the Erebor Royal Guard which says that it is rewarded in a quest. The quest is not in the game yet so that is probably coming on the 21st.
Just my thoughts.
Secret Stone Treasure Hunt
King Thorin III has asked you to try to locate an ancient relic known as the Secret Stone.
But what dangers did the poem warn about? Can you solve this mystery on your own?
This difficult treasure hunt will require community teamwork and resources outside of the game itself.
Good luck!
My kinnys got a quest today, i got nothing.
I hope i will get it later this day.
King Thorin has a new quest that sends you to Lake-town to meet the new master.
The first quest "The Secret Stone" (for 115 lvl) I got automatically when I was in Erebor.
It was just the next step of the episodic content. Thought that came on Thursdays? Guess not.
Yup. I was coming here to post it hehe.
