Sales say they run from now through September 6th. Surely some mistake.
Yes....and I need this free point.
Bullroarer's Challenge is easy. The central one. The north and south ones... are not.
I spent hours. And hours. Trying to beat them. The south one was pretty rough. But the north one, with dozens of tiny posts to land on, was my rare elite arch-nemesis. As I jumped from post to post, inevitably a little bit of hitching or lag would make me miss. I refused to disable drunken effects to make it easier. (One day a passing RK cast Do Not Fall on me in an amusing attempt to help. It didn't work.)
Occasionally I would watch while others gave it a few tries and failed. Then I actually saw someone beat it after a few minutes of trying. I was amazed, glad for them, but feeling pretty frustrated having spent another hour or two beating my head against it. I wearily lined up for my umpteenth attempt, and... I beat it too! Right after that other guy. Fist pumps ensued, as well as a roar of triumph that still echoes over the Greenfields to this day.
It felt great. But I am NEVER running it again.
Challenge? What Challenge?
Have I completed Bullroarer's Challenge?
Yes.
And now I have one leg longer than the other.
Oh THAT.
I still have yet to complete the North and South Runs.
Nope... and to the dev who did North and South... I don't like you a little bit ;)
I doubt I'll ever complete the bullroarer's challenge. The middle section is easy, the southern one is definitely doable, but the northern part? I'd prefer to keep my sanity
Only the middle one! The north and south challenges are apparently beyond me...
Yes, on one character. So very long ago. NEVER AGAIN. It was so frustrating. I wanted to take a golf club upside a hobbit's head by the time I was done is all I'm saying.
Middle is fine by me... I, like A.A. Milne, like the middle just fine... :D
Halfway down the stairs
is a stair
where i sit.
there isn't any
other stair
quite like
it.
i'm not at the bottom,
i'm not at the top;
so this is the stair
where
I always
stop.
Halfway up the stairs
Isn't up
And it isn't down.
It isn't in the nursery,
It isn't in town.
And all sorts of funny thoughts
Run round my head.
It isn't really
Anywhere!
It's somewhere else
Instead!
Yes... once long ago, in days long past. Tis an impressive feat only the leapiest of monkeys can accomplish.
Yes, I did! From the second try.
Bullroarer's Challenge? THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BULLROARER'S CHALLENGE *mutter* bloody Hobbits and their frustrating pastimes *mutter mutter*
Yes! It was quite easy! Well... that's how I remember it. But I bet I was swearing up a storm at the time...
Not this year
The center only...and I had to disable drunk effects to do it. Does anyone else think short hobbit legs make it harder? And to those who did North and South, well, AMAZELING. I raise my mug of bullroarer's brew to you.
Once I thought the north one and the south one are as easy as the middle one, so I skipped them... Later I found they are actually very difficult, so I continued to skip them... But now this thread makes me want to try them again. Thank you. :D
I've done the middle, with some difficulty on non-elven characters, but after a couple sober attempts at north and south I decided not to even attempt them while drunk. Hats off to those agile enough to succeed!
mmmm... No -- Failed even the center.... However, I did make level 50 :)

Have you completed Bullroarer’s Challenge?
I've tried it several years ago with my Hobbit, Annathea,,, I kept falling off!
Oh well =)
Nope, did not know about it.
I done did it so long ago Bullroarer himself congratulated me
I have not subjected myself to this frustration this year.
I haven't tried any of the seasonal quests. Don't they break the RP mood? Or, am I being a curmudgeon?
I made it on top of a tent once or twice... but only completed the middle
I have, long ago. On one character. I don't think I've even been back to that area since... I do miss the clover beer though... Well, time to go back to that area!!
Bullroarer's challenge is easy, both normal and advanced. But north and south are almost impossible. I tried for hours and nothing. South is doable, but north is a real pain.
Have I triend the Bullroarer's challenge? No, not yet.
Have you completed Bullroarer’s Challenge?
Not this year, but a few years ago, my main and 2 alts completed the center run.
Yes I have. I only run the advanced run up the middle for the 5 leaves. Very easy and very quick to do. The successful end of the north and south runs elude me but I think my negative mindset regarding those two runs has much to do with that. The rewards need to be updated I think. Personally I have all of them but then I may not have those different ones from the N/S runs (if there are any).
B.
no i havent n i aint gonna try it.........
The Weekly Coupon gets you a Fall Injury Immunity x5 with coupon code IMMUNEFALL now through April 11th!
ow what a great offer so really very much needed................
I completed it on one server with some character's! Yay
Yes, only the central path.
...
I never completed the north route. I tried 5 hours. But all other routes are really easy. ;)
No, I do not want to be involved in something related to flying heads! Poor Golfimbul...
I think dwarven alcohol tolerance gives them an advantage!
Possibly. It's all kind of a blur...
My goodness, I have only been able to master the Centre fence. Finally learned how to aim & jump often enough to complete the first two quests. Beyond that, I am dumbfounded. Cannot even fathom how to complete the North & South ones. *Cheers & good luck to all! :o
expansions!
Of course, a long time ago. I am an elf, and such challenges are no challenges.
Done the Centre run a few time, the North and South though only once each.
I've done the base one many times, not so much the harder runs though, only once or twice maybe, those gave me a headache.
Been there, got the ... hat.
It didn't suit me. :(
No, I was washing my hair.
Hmm... no not yet...
Yep.
I got the first challenge done after 2-3 tries, but have only managed to get to the canopy part of the second one. D:
I did complete the Bullroarer’s Challenge a few years a go! I spent hours trying so I was very happy when I finally made it!
Almost anniversary time!
no :/
Hello!
I must confess that I'm not entirely sure 'which' is the bullroarer's challenge - I'm really new to Middle-Earth but when I saw LP I understood what that meant. More importantly when I saw I could comment on/in the beacon here, I was inspired. I've been in an mmo for many years. In game especially (and the very existence of the beacon) proves my point, and that's that I've never experienced the sense of collective lore, and participation that I have in LOTRO. That's without really knowing anyone - imagine if I had friends here. I know we're all just people, but there's truly something unique and special about this environment. I see people imagine, argue about, and laugh about there challenges and potential in this game. Its really pretty amazing but nuff said. In game? I'm a jumper/climber. Always have been. I like a challenge. Thanks for the opportunity, and if somehow I"m WAY off base here just ignore me and continue as you were.
Toad
Always do center, many times complete south and sometimes do north.
I think I did about 10 years ago
It is always fun to run the rail when blurry and tipsy....
Took a few times, but have completed with a few of my characters now.
Remember never drink and drive, or ride a horse....
my 2¢
DO IT!
I will if he completes mine....
Nope, a "permanent" missing part in my Spring is dandy deed.
Sergio :-)
Yep!
And so I got the mysterious, teleporting Inn League Keg . . .
:o
Love the Bullroarer’s Challenge! Completed it on many of my characters. Now, the north and south runs are a completely different story...
its on my to-do list~
Only once have I completed all three Challenges.
Seeing all the comments about the challenge... It almost makes me want to try, despite how frustrating is appears to be.
I don’t even know what the Bullroarer's Challenge is!
Once. And that was more than enough.
Yes. It is my favorite festival quest.
nope but thanks for the reminder, I missed Lotro so much after a busy week away from the game.
One does not simply complete Bullroarer’s Challenge...
Nope.
“Have you completed Bullroarer’s Challenge?”
Yes, of course. As a matter of fact: I was chosen as the best bull impersonator of the entire bullroarer’s festival!
My bull roar is now even featured in many “Bull’s Ale” commercials!
Wait, what? You are talking about a totally different bullroaring challenge?
I can honestly say, I have no idea what kind of challenge you are talking about.
It took several days and a lot of frustration, but I finally got both the North and South... Hooray!
I was disappointed that there wasn't a cool deed and title for finishing this. I think I spent more hours on this than Thrang or some other raid bosses. :D
Fun little mini-game!
--From someone who always loved running along fences in LOTRO. :)
yes
Since I am a fairly new player, I have not yet attended any festivals and don't know about the Bullroarer's Challenge.
Many, many times, I have so many Kegs I need to place them in other players houses.
I've only been able to do the center. The left and right elude me. I got close on the left recently.
Have I completed Bullroarer's Challenge?
Of course! Quickest way to get 7 Spring Leaves. From the central path, that is. The North and South are different beasts.
No, not yet - but Im sure the 500 LP would help :)
Straight is easy, advanced is just free leaves. South is hard, but did it once. North.. those single posts at the end hate me.
Ive never done anything with Bullroars challenge...but could use the LP for sure.
Throw me on the "the north and south paths are a nightmare" list. x_X
Yes, I've done the center basic and on the timer. After many, many, many, many tries. It's brutal! Almost as bad as the horrible tightropes in Resupplying the Line, that awful Hytbold quest from Eaworth.
Hahaaa! Got the north path!
Hello!
Certainly are a lot of people responding to this thread. Would be more if it was more germaine to the Legendary players.
Yup, My Character was even drunk when he did it... :-)
I tried and I tried
Yet I fell down and cried
I drank some more beer
Tried again, but hurt my knee.
Oh, I am so bad
Oh, I am so sad
I tried and I tried
Over the fences I went
Oh the puddle is near
My face has never been cleaner
Oh, I am so bad
Oh, I am so sad
I gave it a last chance
Adjusted my belt and windy it got
Red in my face
I hate this race
Oh, I am so bad
Oh, I am so sad
Yes in fact I have.
I have completed the Challenge and the Advanced Challenge, but not the North or South. I've never been able to do those two.
After many many tries (we won't say how many) and it was many many moons ago (again, we won't say how many)....
