Population is low on LG servers . wow is out someone sent tell to devs to show them how they should do their job.
And BTW a company needs to advertise and attract new people right? 0 commercial and a nearly 60 years old com manager? Is this the face of the company to attract new people?

The face I talked before talks all the time about their music community on streams ( while dieing in a solo quest inst from 3 mobs) which is some individuals only. in all servers rarely you see people playing music.
While every night last 2 weeks we have caped creeps on EN server and a lag fest cause the face of our company eat the food of the hamsters that run the server .
Wow >>> Lagtro..... 0 changes on pvp, rng endgame , 2 instances that do not even drop stats for you class on items in t5
And now LG servers population goes down.
1 more expansion then new lotro will come propably and finally retire this one.

Yeah, LS would have been popular still if it was a true classic server. The first month it was always 1k+ players online, but once people got to endgame and realised it was so poorly balanced that you could 3 man raids people left in droves. The LS also had store, and faceroll landscape, and trait trees.. It was NOTHING like vanilla Lotro. Also the best gear didn't come from raids or instances, they came from random drops on landscape aka, essence gear.Quote:

I feel like if people haven't migrated to Anor already because of the low population on Ithil, they don't want to. Transfers are free and easy. They like their names, they like the quiet...something. Would forcing them to move make them decide to stop playing at all? Probably a few of them. Not sure what it costs them to run a server, but maybe little enough that they don't want to lose revenue.
I think what would help the LS more is a clear announcement of expansions more than a day or two in advance, and not launching around the same time as a content update on live servers. SoM was a weak expansion to begin with, in that the gear was not much of an upgrade from 65, and little of the L65 content offered much in the way of exciting reward. And they released Vales 8 days prior to SoM, so people were off doing that when Mirkwood launched. If there was a way to shoot the LS in the foot, they found it. I hope RoI is handled differently.
Merging the Legendary Servers now would only be an admission of defeat for SSG on the whole Legendary Server concept. Probably not a good idea right now PR wise. Having said that, Lotro server populations on a whole seem to also be in a steady decline. I play on Gladden and Landroval and I have seen their populations decline considerably since Mordor released and according to some Lotro population tracking sites my observations seem correct. I am sure there are many reasons for this which I will not get into here. My concern is that SSG doesn't seem to know how to stop it.
I also have to admit that I too am not a happy camper when it comes to this game but I have managed to endure its highs and lows since June 2007. I have invested so much time and money into my characters that it is unlikely I would ever completely abandon them unless I was forced to in the event Lotro shuts down at some point for good.
I just wish the executives at SSG or who ever is calling the shots over there would figure out what they are doing wrong before it is too late.
This game has such great potential and the only reason it will ever fail is because those now involved in its development let it...

They should have been aware that the high numbers were only people from all the regular servers making fake toons to reserve their names.
With the announcement yesterday of Isengard release next week, there was no mention of Legendary Server consolidation. I was hoping that this was in the works as there wasn’t supposed to be multiple servers at release. We have a nice sized population for one server. I think consolidation would be healthy for the Legendary server community in terms of economy, player retention and attracting new players.
I'm not seeing what the problem is. If Ithil's population for you is too low, then transfer to Anor. What's the reason for forcing transfers on people who are perfectly happy where they are?
Right now, most of the players are at level cap with their mains, and there's a fair amount of new content to play on the main servers. It seems natural that the online activity would dip significantly until the next Legendary area is enabled. If you merge during the low part of online play, what happens during the next update when players are motivated to get to the next level/area? Do you have queues again to get in? Massive lag? Fighting for resources amongst the crafters? Any decision to force name changes, force players into a high populated server with the incumbent lag that entails, etc., needs to first take into account the online population during the month or so after a new level/area is enabled. Right now would be the worst possible time to make that decision.
I guess there isn’t a problem if you want to play a single player game rpg. If you like to play a Massively Multiplayer Online game, than a larger community is usually the experience most are looking for.Quote:

Yeah, even with both servers combined, there won't be anywhere near enough people to cause a queue. Nor are resources scarce. Nor is Anor a "highly populated server". It's second to last in population, above Ithil. Even if they merged, Anor would still be the lowest population server. Mirkwood release didn't spark a massive increase in population--maybe a 10% spike for about a month. Isengard is much better than Mirkwood, but I doubt even the most optimistic SSG employee is expecting a return to even Moria launch numbers, which were already low enough that a merge wouldn't have affected server performance.Quote:

Yea and what do you think server merges will accomplish and ultimately fix if they do happen. Its the players mentality and lack of content, unwillingless to group. There was a time when Anor have had over 1000+ or even players online, even Ithil over 500 and trust finding group on Ithil was an issue because majority of players refused to run or they decided to stay solo, its quiet ,desolate and gloomy because players decided to forge their own path and do what they want.
