Bullroarer Update 25.3 - Preview #2

Bullroarer is CLOSED.

New Minas Morgul instances have received more polish and bug fixes. Please yell at us about any bugs, balance, or other issues you encounter!

News and Notes:

• Bullroarer will remain open until Thursday afternoon (01/16). Time subject to change.
• Character Copy to Bullroarer is available, but is still failing in some cases. Shared Item transfer is currently disabled.

Instances

• Bar Nirnaeth, The Houses of Lamentation
• Ghashan-Kutot, The Halls of Black Lore
• The Fallen Kings

Crafting

• Woodworker and Weaponsmith recipes available from the Reclamation of Minas Ithil reputation vendors no longer bind on acquire, making them consistent with the Jeweller, Metalsmith and Tailor recipes available for barter.
• Minas Ithil Minstrel instrument recipes available for barter with the White Company Quartermaster no longer require Woodworker crafting guild reputation to barter or use. These recipes also no longer bind on acquire. (Known Issue: The preview of the critical success result on the recipes is not displaying the proper increase in ilevel. However, when crafted the item does create properly at a higher ilevel.)

Quests and Adventure Areas

• Instance: The Forgotten Lords - Instance continues to work if the player is defeated mid fight.
• Quest: Hobbling Homeward - Malhar should hobble correctly now.
• Quest: A Weapon of Old - Nar will properly repair the axe now.

Misc

• An error has been corrected with the relic exchange on the Reclamation of Minas Ithil barter vendors. You can now receive 1 Relic of Minas Ithil in exchange for 50 Sigils of Imlad Ithil, instead of the inverse, once you have reached standing: The Reclamation Continues.
• The White Company Quartermaster Reputation vendor now offers Minas Morgul housing music boxes, available for Sigils of Imlad Ithil once you have reached Ally standing.

Last boss of bar Nirnaeth :

-The dialogue on the bridge is gone
-The boss starts but the tree isn't targetable.
-You can find and kill 3 Tree roots + the boss u just killed below in the bloodbath
But after killing them nothing happens anymore

3rd boss has no mechanics yet
So far the 2nd boss is nice mechanics-wise would just wish a bit more dmg
1st boss has a huge lack of mechanics, the dmg got buffed but still too low because of no mechanics

The dmg buff on the bosses was great but i would definitely up it by a bit more

I can't copy my char either i get an error. When is this gonna be fixed?

This should have been fixed - if you are seeing a problem then that implies there are some specific items out there that are still bugged.

If you could please provide exact names of the bows that are misbehaving I will look into it!

All of the new Crafted Bows from Minas Morgul behave / animate as crossbows, despite specifically claiming they are Bows.

Character Copy to Bullroarer is available, but is still failing in some cases.

Wouldnt call it in some cases.
Last week 5/24 chars failed to copy (1 creep, 3 130's and lvl 60).
This week All chars failed to copy

I don't see how you could fail to know that this kind of incompetence is doing your company harm. I have played since Beta and (mostly) loved the game, but with all the damaged and screwed up things each update and/or preview brings, I am losing confidence in your product. Especially when the errors are not ever fixed. Add in the omnipresent laaaaaagggg, and the game quickly becomes an exercise in frustration. Why would anyone want to trade fun for frustration. Yet that is what you keep serving up. That's when customers go elsewhere. Why do you want to make your customers reluctant to even log in? This makes no sense, yet you keep on doing it.

lol Alex i dont think he will understand of what you mean/saying.It was funny tho.

i downloaded launcer for bullroarer today and it launches the login screen but soon as i login it goes back to desktop and wont lauch the game

Overall alot of stuff improved from previous build, the stuff below is still things that are concerning me. It's fun to do these instances, but some of the fights really do feel like a 3-man instance or T1/T2. Please take a deep look at them again, making sure you tune them to where they should be, before they are out.


Bar Nirnaeth, The Houses of Lamentation T3:

Nothing changed in this 6-man, so basically all the same as previous build.
Door at the entrance is bugged and doesn't allow you to leave instance.

Trash to boss 1:
- Very little damage from mobs.

Boss 1:
- Complete lack of mechanics on this boss fight, making it extremely dull and boring.
- Lack of morale on boss.
- Lack of damage on boss.
- Platforms in middle are bugged, preventing the boss to move and reset properly.

This fight needs a rework, to make it more challenging.

Boss 2:

- Complete lack of mechanics on this boss fight, making it extremely dull and boring.
- Lack of morale on boss.
- Lack of damage on boss.

This fight needs a rework, to make it more challenging.

Boss 3:

- Fight was bugged on first Bullroarer build and couldn't be started.


Boss 2 is in a way better shape now, there are still some things that I would address however:

Ghashan-Kútot, The Halls of Black Lore T3:

Door at the entrance is bugged and doesn't allow you to leave instance.

Trash to boss 1:
- Very little damage from mobs.
- Theres huge amount of trash mobs upstairs and on sides, which are leading nowhere making it very weird looking.


Boss 1 (mini bosses):
- Lack of morale on bosses.
- Lack of damage on bosses.
- Needs little bit more mechanics to make the fights more challenging.
- Right now the only well balanced ones are Skorgrím and Núrzum
- Platforms in middle are bugged, preventing the boss to move and reset properly.

Boss 2:
- Lack of morale on boss.
- Lack of damage on boss.
- Memories that are supposed to be healed can only be healed with certain skills, please make sure you look into this and make it so all healing skills apply to them.

The Fallen Kings T3:

Door at the entrance is bugged and doesn't allow you to leave instance.

- Other Nazguls could use a significant boost to damage and morale.
- Interupts need to be more punishing.
- It's nice that the nazgul waves are always random, keeps the instance fun and refreshing.
- Sometimes when you kill the nazguls, it bugs and new ones don't come out and are just stuck behind the invisible wall.

just want to point out that some bugged skills for RK still need to be fixed:

1- rune sign of winder initial heal is bugged and does not crit at all

2- the healing stone is bugged and does not crit all

3- scribe a new ending skill has a long animation delay.

how hard it can be to fix that that takes you so long to fix it.

There are more pressing issues with other classes than tinkering with the RKs further. As they sit, they're pretty solid in all 3 lines, but might change how the content develops.
For now, they should focus on Burglars and Champs and leave others alone for a bit.

I'm not talking about buffing or nerfing the class or making changes to it, those are bugs that should be fixed like any other bugged skill/trait asap. not talking about scaling issue or weak class that needs to be worked on.

And I was talking in a sense that dedicate time to these while overall class is perfectly playable and competitive isn't needed when we have classes that are seriously hampered by their own issues and ones which are severly overperfoming.
Either way, time shouldn't be allocated to RKs any more, we got more pressing issues.

Regarding the Bow and Crossbow; designation, animation and cosmetic. Live expac release had them animated as crossbows, said they were crossbows but the artists made them look like bows. The notes for the fix that Cordovan passed on to us seemed disingenuous as it only mentioned them sitting better, cosmetically. Yet they were changed to a bow designation, which I'd imagine would change how they would "sit" on the back. We even had the CM stream with the Hero bow animation like a crossbow.

How is it that we have years of a bow being a bow and a crossbow being a crossbow and all of a sudden it's getting totally mixed up now? This looks like a breakdown in comms that needs sorting out.

I finally got my new woodworker passed all these barter restrictions on the 130 instruments. Once again I find the tooltips for the critical versions lacking any visible increase. Once we'd have a change of name and a purple to cyan color difference along with the stat increase. Yet on a crit it will give better stats, we can't know until we blow our mats on trying. Ofc the base chance to crit is the standard 5% but for those other weapon crafts, despite our expertise over many years, have our critical base as just one percent for crafts that are excessive on material requirements.

Ashing: Increasingly I'm saving old gear to turn into Motes or Embers when not capped. However as soon as I place them in the vault or storage the designator for what I might receive in the ashing process disappears from view. The same is true on barter and coffer contents, we don't always see the Mote/Ember/Craft Component. Just so inconsistent. Sums up what crafting has been for years, inconsistent. Recipes not indicating they are multi-output until purchased.

The poor procedures you have been following the last few years is the cause of these issues that come up time and time again. You had a budget for a craft expac and came up with this?

Did Bullroarer come down early? I thought it was up until this afternoon, and can not find a notice otherwise, but the client shows it down. I was on fine last night and can connect to the live servers this morning, so I don't think it is my computer. Anyone else seeing it down?

More mechanics, instead of more morale and more damage, because just adding more morale and damage to a fight is really not making it more challenging. that's only going to make a fight longer, not more challenging. People who already have some experience in their class are going to have an easy time in these instances if the mechanics aren't sufficient enough.

Maybe bring back some kind of challengemode, because the T1 - 5 system is starting to bore the #### out of me. Increase the mechanics or add a challengemode, ty.

You open bullroaer only on 1 day,first you couldnt even started it ,then you manage to maintain it for 27 hours in full....nice job ,if you gived us more time then we could know whats wrong...

Many threads discuss best Damage type/title for Melee Class Character weapons. The Casters - Rune-Keeper / Minstrel / Lore-Master are very weak in Melee Damage. My preference is to either create 2 weapons Fire (group) and Lightning (solo) for Rune-Keeper partly because I like to see the sparkle when held as cosmetic. On Beta 25.3 it was a big surprise when using 120 Valar the pre-imbued Weapon damage title set to Beleriand even though I clearing selected Thunder Lightning Orb.(see below)

Beleriand damage is great for other Melee Class Characters, but for Rune-Keeper the selectable Lightning pre-imbued Weapon damage should be Lightning. The same thing happened when selecting Fire pre-imbued Weapon damage = Beleriand !!
Needs some feedback on selecting Rune-Keeper/Caster weapon damage type and does everyone max-out the Melee DPS on caster damage? The caster DPS weapon rating doesn't affect spells cast does it?

Ok so weapon damage type does not matter for tact classes

That's why everyone is using beleriand+critical rating or beleriand+tactical mastery..because 900 crit is better than nothing

Pre-imbued items need some polishing indeed, but for sure you know that beleriand damage type on caster weapon doesnt affect anything but melee attacks which are useless for casters. So you definitely can live with beleriand damage type on your rune-stone, just gives it a try. ;)

Do not allow bullroarer characters to advance to higher level instances until the lower level has been completed. T1>T2>T3>T4>T5. Have players jump into T2 or greater at the start does not allow the testing of the basic mechanisms.

Just my opinion, caused by the bug in Solo T1 Bar Nirnaeth.

I think that forcing players to go a certain "way" through new, to be tested, content is a rather bad idea, of course assuming all content available on Bullroarer is actually ready for us to provide feedback (and that's only up to SSG to decide and possibly communicate). Mind you, I'm not saying SSG should always release all tiers at the same time on Bullroarer, they should be releasing them as soon as they want us to test them, but if there's a set timeframe of let's say three days to test new instances, from solo mode up to tier 3, and you necessitate players to first do solo, then do tier 1, and so on, you cut down even further on the time available. There's players out there that will jump on Bullroarer to have a look at solo content. There's other players that are mostly interested in high difficulty versions of new instances, possibly challenge quests, and so on. There might be some players that don't have enough time to spare to do all instances four times, so why take away their chance to give feedback on something they care about? They probably wouldn't be providing feedback for difficulties they aren't interested in either way, but instead rush through as fast as possible to get to what they actually want to test. Similar problems would arise if you were to try and force solo players to group up and do, e.g., tier 5. Player interests differ, and necessitating them to test and give feedback on difficulties that they don't want to (or can't) play is not so likely to yield helpful results. Let SSG make it clear what they have available for us to test, and then let each player decide what they personally want to test from this list.

Bar Nirnaeth, especially, is a bad example. I did it on bullroarer multiple times, solo, tier 1 six-man, and tier 3. None of the times I was able to properly play the final boss. It just wasn't really there for us to test, as most mechanics did not exist. It's barely playable on live now as well, while you can finish it's group versions (did both tier 2 and tier 3, did not do tier 1 though), die once and you have to re-do the entire instance. Better than no chance to finish it at all, but still, I'd not jump to the conclusion that solo does not work because everyone did tier 3 on Bullroarer.
