Any suggestions are welcome.
What do we do with the current TA LI's that drop? Should they be saved? If so should they be identified?
Should we deconstruct as many as possible and save the legacies?
Any other advice to prepare for the the new LI system is appreciated.
Reading the BR topic I think the best option would be currently to get/craft a bunch of LI's and convert them after the update.
As it seems that the goodies you get are dependent on the level of the toon, not the item, convert them with your highest toons.
This doesn't make any sense to me at all, so I hope this will change.
So let's say my woodworker has the most mats and he crafts a bunch of level 100 TA bows will the items received from conversation (or whatever) be bound to character or account?
Last will ancient script be bound to character or account?
Enhancement runes, traceries and ancient scripts are all bound to account. Scripts have a cap of 10k, which you will reach pretty quickly.
Just converted a carving with a level 110 toon, got 4200 scripts. Couldn't test on higher toons as their LI's didn't make the copy to BR.
My approach is simply to wait and see how it works after release. Since we still will be able to use existing scrolls and star-lits on existing LIs. They have said the two systems will run in parallel for a while.
So if we can get new currency for a scroll or star-lit I will see how much. If adding it to a LI will improve the conversion rate I will see how much. Then do whatever makes sense.
Bear in mind that you will not be able to craft LIs or relics after the update.
As there has been no word on conversion of legendary fragments, symbols of Celebrimbor or compendiums as of yet, I'll use up those mats before the update to be on the safe side.
Edit: converting 'virgin' LIs doesn't do anything: no rewards at all. So the result of conversion is not only dependent on toon level.
Also: when you convert a LI and you do get some goodies, the LI still sits in your LI panel, with relics, titles and all. Confusing.

People on Bullroarer are saying that in the latest build the LI system has been completely disabled. Note to self - a day or two before the change take a careful look at all available information and use old scrolls and crystals then if that seems safest. Doing it now still seems premature but waiting until after the rollout may be a disaster.

The best advice is to try not to game or min/max conversion for the future, so play how you normally would and use any ingredients you would like to use for your existing Legendary Items prior to the release of Update 30.3. Remember that with the release of Update 30.3 on October 13th you will largely be unable to update your existing Legendary Items due to the inability to Reforge them. So, if you do wish to do LI work on existing items or items you receive prior to the release of Update 30.3, do it between now and then.

I've realized over the past week or so that a good number of players don't ever even bother checking the forums or anything else, more than I thought. Consistently surprised people in world chat that an LI revamp is on the way. I wonder how confused a lot of people are going to be for a while when this launches, or how many people will be asking what they are "converting" their LI to.

The good news is Cordovan stated that "convert" is going to be changed to a different word. The LI guide simply says "button" at least until they can come up with a proper word. I am kind of liking "appraise" myself. Though if people don't read the patch notes like they should, they definitely won't know about where to go. I have some unused empowerment scrolls and crystals, would it be more beneficial to use them into LIs before the update or is there going to be some way to convert the scrolls and crystals directly into new LI materials? Will I be able to add scrolls and crystals into old LIs after the update?
My biggest fear is that once i click the button to scan my old LIs to calculate how much Ancient Scripts i receive the 4 FA LIs plus SA bridle and 5 TA weapons I currently have will push me far in excess of the 10,000 Ancient Script cap and i drastically lose out

Something that tends to get lost in the discussions: you don't really 'cash-in' your old LI.
When you convert/scan/whatever they'll name it your old LI you get to keep it. The price for that is that you will not be able upgrade the old LI with scrolls, crystals or reforging. I don't consider that an issue, as further investing in old style LIs seems a silly thing to do.

Using old LIs is possible though there are notes that mixing an old and a new isn’t allowed so you have to flash change.
As far as convert there has to be a balance on giving enough currency for the un-imbued LIs for the chars 100 and below to build replacements. The cost are the same regardless of tracery level from what I remember.
All in all it’s unfinished but a reasonable work in progress. Similar to the combat tables rework it took months of adjustment to get back to a new normal.

On Bullroarer, you were allowed to exceed the Ancient Script cap when you got the tokens for an old LI and it wouldn't prevent you from doing another one. While you are over the cap, you only lose Ancient Scripts you might get from other sources (whatever those might be). The other items you get are bound to account and go into inventory so are not capped.Quote:
