Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Not sure if I'm reading this right, but what's being added sounds like a real boon to our fellowship finding needs. One question though. If I'm grinding deeds in Evendim, will someone in Angmar who is looking for a Raid for Bogbereth be able to find me if I have my "bogbereth fellowship finder" on, or do I need to actually be in the same channel as him?

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Now that looks great guys!
Honestly I was quite happy with the quest logger. But this is a great unlooked for improvement.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Looks really good - can't wait to try it out! The who's on what quest you are on feature itself is pretty nice, this looks to be a real fleshing out of that ninja idea into something that will make finding a group to help with fellowship quests much much easier.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Very nice! I look forward to trying it out.

from what I remember, currently the lff panel is global...just nobody uses it. I'd assume that it would have the global functionality still.

Whats with the 1 pixel pictures? Is it a new game? I did have fun finding them and trying to click them.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Will these locations that you can use Mustering Horns for, show up on the map?
That would be helpful to those who don't know where every single campfire in the game is. :)

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Being an up and coming captain I'm not sure I like the idea of the Mustering Horn. But...whatevah.

They're PNGs, not JPG as with most other site content. Some browsers hateses them.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Really looking to the changes to the quest log and tracker. Any chance we'll be able to add more then 5 quests to the tracker in the future?

Whoops! My bad. :p
The images should be fixed now into something more user-friendly.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
I don't understand why it costs a ration to summon someone... makes no sense when you aren't the one travelling.
And then it only takes one ration to get there? Seems too convienient compared to hunter's campsite skill costing 3 and capt summon costing 5. I understand they are different skills with different uses, but I think some sense of equality would be better here. To me, it would be fairer if it just cost 3 rations for the summonee.
Otherwise, the rest of it looks good and has been needed for a while. Hopefully people will use it and cut down on the LFF spam.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Great changes...
However we will see it in practical :) Hard to change habits of people often. And about captains, captain can summon still almost anytime anyone they want. Not per 30 minutes. However, I bet there might be some adjustment to captain skills too.

The new panel as described is not using a chat channel, so I suspect your lff status will be visible server wide.

Campfires already have an icon. I doubt that there will be a separate one for mustering horns.

Myself, I'm happy to see this step forward, but I'd still like to see support for more than one quest. One of the nice things about this game is that quests are often clustered together. Only being able to request/advertise one quest at a time will limit the usefulness of the system.
Perhaps we'll be able to flag more than one quest in the future? Devs?
For now, I'll flag whatever quest is my lowest but will probably keep using GLFF (global looking for fellowship) - the custom global channel I set up on Arkenstone after reading about similar channels on other servers.
How?
Type /joinchannel GLFF. If you have no other custom channels it'll register as User Channel 1. So, type /1 (the user channel #) and then your message:
/1 44 GRD lff quest1, quest2, quest3, message, etc.
In order to see messages in the channel you have to right-click one of your chat tabs and check the box next to User Channel 1 (or whatever number your channel is on).

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
I don't quite understand the justification for the summoner using a travel ration, but overall the changes sound pretty good, look forward to using them and I hope people start to use these features.
One question: will we be able to flag deeds as LFF?

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Devs, what can I say? I love you guys!!! :D
The new look to the log is awesome, and the features are off the hook! One thing I'd eventually like to see is a more adaptable tracker. One that either scrolls or pages, and the ability to sort/prioritize which quests/deeds you want toward the top. Perhaps a toggle to swap between quests and deeds? All I know is 5 slots in the tracker right now is not enough. Something for the future, hmm?
Nice job, folks! Two thumbs, way up!

These are the existing camp sites that hunter can bind to. Then bring their fellowship to. It is mostly going to help folks want to do things like GA, GB and the rift. The have an existing icon. As far as I know they currently only show on the radar.
There are campsites near Dol Dinen in North Downs and Nan Tornaeth in Trollshaws that are real useful. I suspect people will use the Helgrod campsite in Misty Mountains for general questing.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
Nice changes. Some of these things I've been dying for and suggesting for a long long time. So thanks, but as is customary I will now ask for more :)
I was really hoping that the social panel function would be upgraded as well as the quest log so that you could have multiple quests designated as LFF. In addition there should be support for activities that transcend actual quests. For example, if I want to run Carn Dum, but I don't actually need any quests there, I should have some built in way to signify that. Or even if I do have a particular quest there, it seems like the new system will only let me find others who looking to do a particular quest there. For example if I'm on Evil's Final Chapter, I might want to group with someone who is doing An Ancient Story of Evil. This system will not put us together. And how about supporting deeds? Holy cow, I would love for this thing to help me finish Circle of Despair!!!

They will not be shown separately from Campsites on the map--they are now a part of every campsite. However we are looking into ways to make Campsite locations more visible on the maps (currently, you can see them on the mini-map, but not the full screen map).

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
I'm glad to see the long awaited fix to LFG.
One request for the future would be for the ability to be able to flag multiple quests.
Thanks again for you hard work.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
I applaud the improvements, but also would like to see the option to put LFF tags against instances (BG, GB, GA, Fornost, Uru, CD, etc.) or even quest hubs like GF, Amon Raith, or Brockenborings.

Re: Book 13 Dev Diary Feedback: Better Together
I have been waiting for this since launch ! Good news.
I too think we should be able to flag more than one quest (maybe its already like this, we'll see). I guess for more general requests (instances, areas, etc.), we'll need to use the Fellowing panel. But I'm sure with this new feature, more people will "discover" the fellowing panel and use it more for those kind of requests. So its a big step in the right direction. I would also like a redesign of the Fellowing panel in the future. Then, all will be perfect.
