Q #1 When is Moria going to be released?
1b is lothlorien going to be added as well?
1c are skirms going to be included?

Q #2 PVMP is it going to be added?
2b if so WHEN?

Q #3 Are Moria set gear stats going to be better?
3b Any plans to upgrade guilded crafting?

Q #4 Will you please get rid of essence armor until level 100?
4b if not, again i ask, will you make moria set gear better than essence gear?

All those questions are legit, but dont really expect any responses.

I will add Im 100% behind the essence armour request. Im a little late to the LS and just hit 50. Ive gotten a few essences but in reality I dont even know where the armour drops and it is expensive as hell on the AH and Trade chat. Im really curious as to why it was ever added as it was never a part of SoA or anything for years after it. Not sure when it showed up as I had pretty much given up LotRO with the tedious flower picking and the endless LI grind that came with level 100 LIs.

Im hoping to recapture LotRO as I remember it on the LS but adding things like essence gear is ruining the experience (not to mention things like trait trees but I can live with them).

Actually the *only* one answered is Moria in approximately 4 months in a FAQ that was posted months ago before the LS even dropped. Of course he is just asking for some clarification or even an updated timeline since we've heard nothing for a few months on the subject. I'd like to think if Moria was coming soon they would hype it just a bit to get excitement up, but silence doesnt have the same positive effects.

Personally my sub expires in 2 weeks, and if there's no announcement on upcoming content there's really no reason to renew it until some sort of release date is made public. 4 months could easily become 5 or more.

Assume that gear and crafting - and practically everything else for that matter - will be identical to what exists on the normal servers.

What is the problem with the essence armor? It is extremely rare before level 100, so unless people really go out of their way to obtain them any way they can it is highly unlikely anyone will have more than one or two pieces of essence armor before they are finished with Moria.

There are tons of people in Ithil looking to trade heavy for light, or light for heavy or heavy for medium, etc. Doesn't seem to be that rare right now.
All the raiders are raiding every day so I guess it adds to the drop rate?

Q1- March-ish (approximately every 4 months as stated in the FAQ)
1b- Yes, Moria will include Lothlorien (all content level cap 60)
1c- Yes.

Q2- There will be no PVMP for Legendary Servers when Moria arrives.
2b- There are no definitive plans to bring PVMP to the Legendary Servers at this time.

Q3+4- I'm not qualified to answer these questions.

Based on this answer, we can now predict the following timeline:

March 2019: Moria, Lothlorien (Level 60)
July 2019: Mirkwood, Enedwaith (Level 65)
November 2019: Isengard, Great River (Level 75)
March 2020: Rohan, Wildermore (Level 85)
July 2020: Helms Deep, Fangorn (Level 95)

Since we were set to level 100 for quite some time (almost 2 years if I recall) I am going to assume that all content between Dol Amroth and Helms Deep won't be released "all at once" as a level 100 package.... but then, maybe it will. I will assume a "split" into two sets of content for now:

November 2020: West Gondor, Central Gondor (Level 100)
March 2021: East Gondor, Old Anorien (Level 100)
July 2021: March of the King/Battle of the Black Gate (Level 105)

Estimate for Mordor: Late 2021.

That would take us to level 120 in early 2022, by which time of course there will be NEW content that will have been added, and perhaps also new level increases.

I'd put a guess that by late 2022, the Legendary Server will have caught up with the Regular Servers, so that is a 4-year plan.
I'm also estimating that at some point, Anor and Ithil might merge into one server, and that the server capacity freed up by Ithil (presuming Ithil will move to Anor) will then be used - perhaps at the 2 year mark - to launch a new legendary server and start the whole process all over again for those that are interested at that point in time. But that is all just pure speculation.

is a huge huge huge mistake.

Once we have done deeds/crafting and we have our titles and our armour.

You want us to sit in south bree for the next 3months staring at our screens when we have raid locks?

We have. literally.. nothing to do..........

Im currently maxed on my burg minus lash fragment, for the past 1month all ive done it sit in south bree staring at my screen and talking to kinnies. I have nothing to do............

pvp fixes this, pvp gives us something to do between raids.......

Work on introducing pvp asap please. before these servers die... surely you can see the huge population drop as people are getting bored..

Why don't you guys just be honest and admit that there'll never be pvmp? Each update that rolls out we already know that this will be the answer. "No pvmp at this time". You guys KNOW that a lot of people will cancel their VIP with a definitive answer, which is why you're doing it. It's dishonest. Honestly, what are people getting for $15 a month otherwise? These servers are doomed to fail sooner rather than later. Limited content and no pvmp isn't worth the cost. We can play on the regular servers for free.

I presume when this information gets circulated around through world chats and different discords there will be a significant decrease in many toons not logging in any longer. This is truly really disappointing news. Gave us something to do during every level cap besides running the daily instances to get gear that may or may not drop.

Think I just heard half of my kin canceling their subs. I know they were praying for PVMP with the Moria expansion

Could you all humor me and tell me why you would like moors level 50 for legendary servers, opposed to playing at level cap on normal servers?
I could understand if it was classic Shadows of Angmar etc, but as things are it’s essentially the same as regular servers.

I've got to say, this is a huge disappointment and in my opinion also a huge mistake.

The lack of PvMP and the current situation with endgame gear are imo the two biggest issues with the legendary servers right now.
As it seems both will not get address let alone resolved by the Moria Update.

Up until now I really enjoyed the new servers but I'm sorry to say that I can't see myself farming landscape on probably every level cap till 100.
As it stands now essence gear will be BiS for all caps if the sets in the raids do not get updated. The update to the rift set that came with t2/t3 was a step in the right direction, but it did not solve the problem at all - essence gear is still BiS by far for all classes.

The gear desperately needs updating and there should be t3 special loot. This loot should be the best available gear for the lvl cap, not some random stuff from random mobs with an incredibly low droprate.

I don't know if implementing PvMP is really such a huge issue that you choose not to include it at all, but I can say that I know many ppl who left the server again because it wasn't there.
These are of course ppl who would also come back and pay VIP if PvMP would arrive.
So it is definitely something many players want you to do and you maybe should reconsider implementing it (ofc assuming you won't in the future which I don't know, but sadly suspect)

The aspect of not being behind on content and have to grind 5 years for the dumbest introduction to lotro (imbued weapons) that severely punish those who take breaks.
I took a 3 year break, came back now all 10 of my chars need imbued weapons x2/3/4 150 emps 20 crystals each. Noooo thank you...


Legendary server pvmp has so much potential. I dont want to log back on normal servers.

Im 100% committed to legendary server, this will be my final time on lotro my last chars. 0 pvmp is just utter horse manure. Its just sitting around communal areas emoting + talking because there is literally nothing and i do mean nothing to do.

On the PVP question:

For PVP there is a scaling system in place that will automatically scale up any level 10 and higher player up to level 120 so they can participate in PVP in one of the PVP zones. I suspect that the code for this is singular, in other words they set the level cap in the code to what is the current cap, and it will apply across the board. Since they never had the idea of having different servers with different caps, AND knowing that the Legendary Servers have to share the identical code as the Regular Servers, simply "enabling" PVP at this moment will just result in all the level 50s on the Legendary Server to be scaled up to level 120 whilst in the Ettenmoors. That already exists, if you want to pvp at level 120 there are 10 other servers to do it on.....

I don't think this is the desired intent, nor is it what the players would want. The players would want a Ettenmoors that is at the current level cap of the Legendary Server, whether that will be 50, 60 etc. This issue also exist on the creep side, where there is likely a piece of singular code that sets the cap level for creeps across all servers, and that is the end of that. My guess is that they are currently not able to differentiate between servers when it comes to the level cap for creeps, and the level scaling system for freeps.

In order to truly get what players would want, is new code that would allow them to set the cap level PER server when it comes to both creeps and the level 10 to cap level scale ups, and I am thinking that this will take some ingenuity to implement and build. They need to come up with a more flexible back end code that allows them to set creeps and freeps to level 50 on 2 servers, and to level 50 on the other 10 servers. It's not as simple as just "putting in a level cap" like the current level cap of 50 in the PvE world, as there are more mechanisms involved, in particular the scaling up system.

In addition to the above, there are some minor issues to resolve, such as the crafting nodes. The Ettenmoors as a zone always has the cap level crafting nodes. Now, I personally don't understand WHY there are crafting nodes in the Ettenmoors to begin with.... no one is going there to happily mine some ore, so the easy fix would be just to remove all crafting nodes from the Ettenmoors, and solve it that way. If they by design need to be there for whatever reason, they would need to change the code to have TWO Ettenmoors zones, one with the current cap tier crafting nodes, one with the legendary cap tier crafting nodes. As said, the easy fix here would be just to remove all crafting nodes so you don't have to do this, but it is another quirk.

Now, on to the sensitive, possibly triggering part: Is PvP really needed on the Legendary Server? I have a feeling most people are coming to the legendary server to experience the glory days of old (I have ran Rift for the first time at level 50, and it was awesome), but not so much to play PvP. Sure, there will be people that will only join these servers with that purpose in mind.... but is it worth the developers effort to put in all the work to make it happen? I am not so sure....

Unfortunately for PvP lovers, the PvP part of Lotro has been neglected severely, and is always put on the low priority list, for "when the devs have time". We already know they are working on releasing new content (likely the Beorning Lands) with Update 24, and they are also "polishing" Moria ahead of the Legendary Server release, such as fixing some quests, adding some old quests and such things.... So I do not think they will have time to address PvP on the Legendary Servers.

LMAO nice scam SSG. Charging people to play on a server with less content than free servers. Well played. How about you take the revenue you are earning from this server and hire a pvp dev to help speed up the balancing process, assuming you even are working on it and thats why your answer so far have been stuff along the lines of "not available at launch." Otherwise like the person above has stated. JUST TELL US if we are never going to get it. Extremely shady and immoral business practice going on here.

Definitely getting bored with no PvMP. Give it a shot, if its as bad as everyone makes it out like its gonna be, who cares at least you tried. If it doesn't come out with moria I can promise my interest, and the interest of all my friends will be gone before I even hit level 60.

Member since 2007, the legendary server have been a godsend. Great work. Only thing missing is the nostalgic pvmp that kept me and most others in it for so long. I hope there is at least an effort made to make pvmp a thing. I understand there are "other servers" but paying a subscription for a special server that has less to offer than the live servers?

I can understand that, especially the bit on imbued weapons needing rebalancing/fixing. The way it’s been implemented I would almost rather they never did the new servers to begin with since it split players up more. OR that they implemented a permanent Angmar cap server without essence fear and everything scaled back. Even if they had to entirely remove the skirmish system, LIs, trait trees etc. This being an original build it would be balanced for moors etc.

This is just wishful thinking though, we’ve got what we’ve got.

So to be honest, the legendary servers end up in what I supposed it would be, legendary fail servers (not even free).

That's a damn shame. It's already at the point where gameplay isn't keeping me hooked and it's only been a couple of months and I've tried with 4 alts so far. PvP was the main reason I played before.

My thoughts are if you want people to be continuously subbed to the game paying their $15 a month, PvMP gives a good incentive for this. Otherwise a player if they wish to just dabble in the game each time the level cap goes up on the legendary server would just subscribe for one month. Power through all the content available in that expansion, which is quite doable. I've been back for two weeks and gotten three characters to 50 and ran rift many times on t1 and will soon be doing t2/3. Proving that a month to do this content isn't a stretch of the imagination. PvMP would keep people subbed year round instead of just hopping in every once in a while. Disappointing to see that I'll be sitting in Bree twiddling my thumbs instead of participating in something that was in the initial release of the game...

I have to add onto this and say this is a disappointing mistake to omit PvMP. The game is stale after hitting level cap and finishing the raiding after a few weeks. PvMP was always a fun way to give Kinships another way to play together and created at least something in the game that wasn't predictable every time you logged in.

I can't anticipate a lot of players sticking with this server over the coming few months at this point, and it's going to hurt even the players that are only interested in PvE when the population dwindles.

No PVMP coming, seemingly at all. What a huge let down. I think that's the end of LS for me (and many more of your subs).

Was so looking forward to re-rolling the moors as well, and starting out fresh. This is a real kick in the teeth. Seriously SSG, I cannot understand what on earth you're thinking.

No reason to keep playing if no pvp.
