Just encountered this issue yesterday (for both DDO and LOTRO), while traveling for work, and using the Hotel Internet.

The launcher would hang up checking the Dat Files.

Found a workaround on...

Try opening the launcher,thenwhen itgets stuck, open a second instance ofthe launcher, andsee if itgets pastyour stuck point. If itdoesm close the first launcher, and log in on the 2nd one.

OH I count on the fact that Turbine will. BUT, and this is a HUGE BUT, their Terms of Service (Contract) are a Hell of a lot different then the ones we agreed to when we play this game.

And I'm sure that they are smart enough to be asking for some sort of concessions from their provider, if it wasn't in their contract already. Turbine is just like us in this case, they can choose...
