I'm still bouncing between running Lotro on Monterey with Crossover and running on Mohave and haven't had any issues on Monterey. I did buy a Crossover license when the 60% discount was in effect.

All you have to do to experience lag is to do missions. 99% of the time, trying to complete mission quests at the quest giver will give you a lag of 10 - 45 seconds. Or sometimes mobs will not spawn...
Yup, quite disappointed as well with the sales. Already bought all the expansions so my reward on Black Friday is nothing. Thanks for nothing SSG.
Hi Tralfazz.
I went to bed while it was still downloading. However, the download hadn't completed when I woke up. It was just sitting there doing nothing (perhaps a Mac or windows setting quiesced...
Ok, I found "Success with Mac M1, crossover 21.1 and macOS Monterey 12.0.1". Seems to be a good starting point. I'm using CrossOver 22. I saw the warning about using this rather than 21.2 but...
I've setup a new APFS volume (on a new SSD) and installed Monterey onto it and upgraded it to 12.6.1. This is going to be my test environment for finally transitioning away from Mojave so want to see...
Thanks for your comments and insight. So performance wise on MacOS Mohave, there's no clear advantage to using Crossover vs Wine for Lotro is my takeway. On a side note, one of the advantages of...
I'm wondering if anyone can compare the performance of Lotro in Wine vs Crossover? Does Code Weaver make any effort to further optimize the Wine base code to run applications a bit faster? If you are...
I haven't run into the blank loading bar yet after I set Wine to use Windows 10.
I didn't have the empty loading bar issue again until today. So I've switched the windows version to 10 and we'll see how well that works. I suspect it has to do with server lag and SSG code not...
After 5+ attempts (with wine restarts) for the 2nd login to work, it finally did. Even a third now. I've occasionally run into this issue with the lotro packaged win but never had so many consecutive...
I tried wine-devel first as you suggested it in your "better LOTRO performance" thread because it finally fixed the options checkboxes in the UI.
Some testing with wine-stable has uncovered an...
I uninstalled wine-devel (i.e. brew uninstall wine-devel) and installed wine-stable.
I was then able to login via the launcher and then login one of my characters. So far so good.
So I installed wine_devel on my iMac running 10.14.6 using brew:
% brew install wine-devel
==> Caveats
wine-devel supports both 32-bit and 64-bit. It is compatible with an existing
32-bit...
Hi. I installed homebrew a while back (years?) and it was fairly old. So I upgraded it to the current version. I then tried to install wine-devel but it can't find it:
% brew install wine-devel...
Thanks for the info. I'm maxed in storage slots so combining will put it well over 500 items so hopefully that amount of overage won't give me general errors when I try to access the items. I'll have...
So with Anor free transfers now available, I will be transferring my toons from there. I've never transferred a character or Shared Storage between servers (excluding Bullroarer). If you transfer...
Posted in different forum. Couldn't find an option to delete thread myself.
So SSG throws another bomb onto us Mac users by officially ending any type of support for running LOTRO on Macs starting in August. Not that SSG does a good job of doing customer support in general...
Okay, I got around the black screen issue by going back to the old 64 preferences file with some additions from the updated preferences file:
$ cp -p UserPreferences.ini UserPreferences_old.ini
$...
Thanks SSG for all your "testing". Now I have to figure out what's broken when you are too lazy to prevent the issue in the first place.
Finally found the problem. I still had an old wine process running from earlier today. A toon login got stuck at the blank loading bar and I forgot about that. Once I killed the process, login worked.
The filters were added in Update 21.2 (Oct 2017).

Game client rejecting my credentials yet I can login just fine to the website.
