It seemed when I first started playing lotro I was the only female playing. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that felt that way :P LoTROL is my first game and I have been playing since closed beta and still having a blast! Im a mom of 3 BEAUTIFUL girls and live in Tennessee. Yeah, I'm a country girl accent and all. Born and raised in the south It seems the population of girl gamers are growing too and that is SO awesome. I want to hear others stories of how they came to play lotro, what class you are and how you are enjoying it or not. I enjoy meeting new peeps and hearing their stories Well that's it for now. There really is no way of telling who is behind each alt ... however, I can tell you that there are many more of us than most people even realize, and the numbers keep growing.

And yes, a good number of female alts out there ... and not played by actual females lol

I read somewhere Turbine was going to add a feature that allows us to show other gear even though we may be wearing somthing completely different. So the big question is, will Button trade in his minstrel hat for somthing better? Answer: No effing way! My hat is a part of me. I think everyone's grown way to accustomed to it that nobody would recognize me without it... plus.... apparently the wargs think it's hot....bonus.

P.S. still not a girl... but I get hit on all the time... and it amuses me to no end

and I started a loremaster. Fun times.
I've always done healer or caster roles, back from muds, AO, wow, etc.

My guess is that females are quieter about their presence on games, but since LotRO has instant voice chat, there's no hiding it. Although I guess I could be mistaken for a 10 year old boy

I'd love to find out recent numbers of females who play here. The last numbers from Nick Yee's study indicated something like 16% female population on EverQuest, and slightly higher for WoW.

I usually don't make a point of telling ppl my gender. I'm a gamer and that's all that matters.

I am female,married and proud mother of an adorable 7 week old boy.

I usually choose female avatars simply because it's easier to RP as a female when you are one, but I have RP'ed as a male and that was a fun challenge. One of the coolest things I've seen in a game was a RL female RP'ing as a gay male. It explained 'his' very feminine dispostion.
