    The way it is currently written is the best way to describe it. What you asked would read:

    Note 1 thru 8 = QWERTYUI (This is the low octave C to C)
    Note 17 thru 24 = ASDFGHJK (This is the high octave C to C)
    Note 9,10,11 = 123 (This is low B and low octave black keys C# and D#)
    Note 13,14,15 = 567 (this is low octave F#, G#, and A#)

    Same thing, just backwards for you .
    Thanks alot Now that I look at it, it makes alot more sense (especially considering I play piano lol)

    Others have contacted me with the same problem.

    Re: Song Compilation

    I've fixed the below song the person who wrote it had the tune wrong.

    The english lyrics should be:
    Are you sleeping
    are you sleeping
    brother john
    brother john
    morning bells are ringing
    morning bells are ringing
    ding dang dong ding dang dong.

    (French the rythm sounds exactly the same on and instrument I just dont know how to spell the french lyrics.)

    He had it as morning bells are ringing
    brother john morning bells are ringing.
    Ding dang ding ding dang ding. I'm not at home so I'm not sure which note to use to change the ding to a dong although I'll fix that later when I get home.

    Wow, way to go everyone! I am looking forward to going home to try these out. Just one more way to spend my time in Middle Earth beyond questing and killing monsters (although I do find those quite enjoyable, too). Keep up the great work!

    Sorry, Just recently started the lute.
    Tried it out and it sounds good, though I did make a few minor tweeks and added on a bit more, heres mine:

    Without shift:

    1-2-3-7-6
    1-2-3-6-5 - 1-2-1
    2-3-7-6
    1-2-3-6-5 - 1-2-3
    3-5-3-2 - C1

    With shift:

    1-2-3-7-6
    1-2-3-5-4 - 1-2-1
    2-3-7-6
    1-2-3-5-4 - 1-2-3
    3-5-3-2 - 1

    Last note with shift doesn't sound quite right, but its the lowest I can get without it sounding worse.

    I've tried most of the songs listed, so far I've got Silent Night, Basket Case by Green Day(please keep it going, I really hate stopping where its left off), Happy birthday, Frere Jacques, both the Hymn to Joys, Danny Boy(the C7s and C6s in that sound off btw, you may want to fix it, otherwise it sounds great),the first 2 lines in Star Wars Imperial March by Neda(The rest I can't really get right for some reason, either it was put together wrong, or it wasn't made to play on the lute), and of course the FFvii theme right.

    The rest I've either never heard of to play right, haven't tried, or just suck at playing it.

    here's a few i tapped out (with a few references to sheet music) in a couple hours last nite.

    Raiders' March (Raiders of the Lost Ark)

    3-4-5-8 2-3-4
    5-6-7-s4 6-7-8-s2-s3
    3-4-5-8 s2-s3-s4
    5-5-s3-s2-5-s3-s2-5-s3-s2
    (repeat)

    or, for the more nimble-fingered among us:
    1+3-2+4-3+5-3+8 2-3-4
    5-1+6-2+7-s4 1+6-2+7-3+8-s2-s3
    1+3-2+4-3+5-3+8 s2-s3-s4
    5-5-s3-s2-5-s3-s2-5-s3-s2
    (repeat)
    this one sounds more full at parts, but some chords just can't be made with the small "keyboard" size.

    s1-s2-s1-s3-s1-s2-s3 s1-s2-s1
    the lack of high D# hurts this one a bit, but it still turned out well

    Re: Song Compilation

    Any chance we could conform to the OP's key-bind format, or have them all listed as the default key-bind? It's very confusing having a handful of different key-bind variations.

    On a slightly different note, if you have fat fingers like me, you can use a program like AutoHotkey to play songs. Just set up a script, set yourself to play music in-game, then initiate it.

    Code:
    #r:: ; WinStart r

    Loop
    {
    ; =========== Line One ===========
            Send, i ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, u ;
            Sleep 400 ;
    ; =========== Line Two ===========
            Send, y ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, r ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, r ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, q ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, r ;
            Sleep 200 ;
            Send, r ;
            Sleep 400 ;
    }
    I know it kind of takes the fun out of it, but you don't even need to set up an entire song. You could set up melodies and connect them, rather than having to hit every key.

    Careful with the macros--you could be violating the ToS! A macro that goes out of control can have adverse effects on the game, so they're frowned upon at best, and can get you banned at worst.

    Turbine has promised enhancements to the music system (go back to Bob's post a little ways back) and I, for one, am waiting with bated breath to see them in action.

    AutoHotkey only mimics key strokes, for the most part. The worst effect I've recieved has been something similar to bashing your head on the keyboard a couple times. If you're hitting keys too fast, LOTRO will let you know and stop accepting them momentarily.

    Someone was asking about the script I showed, so here it is in full form:
    -: http://www.mediamax.com/septa_scarabae/Links/4F74A01899

    It's basicly a very primitive script. It's just calling keys as requested and hits them in a loop until you stop it. *.ahk files need to run while AutoHotkey is running, but they can be compiled into *.exe files. If you download the above script, you should be able to right-click it and go to 'Edit Script'. That'll show you it in a text compiler. If you're using the default music keybinds and need to use Shift and Ctrl, it'd look like this:

    Code:
    Send, {SHIFTDOWN}1{SHIFTUP} ;

    Maybe you're not clear on what a Macro is...

    . pl. mac·ros Computer Science

    noun
    1. a single computer instruction that results in a series of instructions in machine language

    What you're describing is a macro and is against the TOS. While I understand the desire to use it for music you're basically admitting to breaking the rules.

    And also...with the letters...did they remap the keys? How is it set up?
    QWERTYUI = Shift mapping
    ASDFGHJK = Normal mapping
    ZXCVBNM, = CTRL mapping?

    The first post in this thread explains the mapping. I think it's intended to be easier for quicker access while playing.

    The ToS only applies to macros that directly interact with the game client, doesn't it? I wouldn't think that something such as the above script would be considered a bannable offense.

    Since they have the legal department checking if G15 Keyboards are against the rules I would say so. It is sort of interacting with the client by performing functions in game which is handled by the client.

    Hey I noticed that some of the songs are in the Pomm format and some are in the actual note number format. For sake of consistancy should we redo them to the same format? I wouldn't mind converting some if people think it would be helpful.
