Founded in 2008, on the Landroval server, in our twelve years of existence we have become known as a unusually stable, mature, active, yet casual group of MMO players across numerous games. Every Kinship has a story, we invite you to write your own page in ours!

SoN is not defined by any single play style, but more as a “community within a community” where members are encouraged to share their own path. We seek people committed to helping build and improve our community. Our active and professional leadership helps ensure a drama-free environment and to guide the communities efforts.

SoN has always proudly supported members who serve in the armed forces, and from this has come one of our longest standing traditions. Members are not ejected from our community due to lack of play time. When SoN was founded in 2008, several members were deployed on active duty within weeks of joining. Others have spouses who have deployed for many months at a time. Yet when they returned, their characters and Kinship were there to welcome them home. This tradition extends to all our members past and present. You are not separated from us for lack of playtime or distance.

SoN actively seeks to give back to our in-game communities through sponsoring public events and spectacles. Our Kinship actively seeks to participate and support our fellow guilds in their events. We welcome people who want to do the same!

We are a true global Guild, casual, and play several games. In our twelvth year we are rebooting our RP and lore on the back of The Book of Thursby, the lore of our guild across all games. No member is obliged to accept any "head canon" aspects and the lore exists mainly for providing context and structure to our existence in-game. Ultimately you and your own personal story are prime, we are simply the cross-roads you meet others and pursue life in Middle-earth through.

Joining a guild is about finding the right fit and enjoying the game you play. We enjoy all play styles in MMORPGs, from light and heavy RP, casual raiding, questing, sponsoring activities and events, and much more. You join as a friend, and you leave as one. This means if you find a better fit, go in peace, you are always welcome back and none hold a grudge over doing what is right for you.

Membership in Sons of Numenor extends across all the games we play. You have no obligation to play any game besides what you join us for, but you are welcome in any and all games at anytime. That means you likely already have a home as your interest in games or play style changes!

I am very interested in joining. On Landroval, I have a 50 Human Hunter named Danwald, 20 Human Minstrel Danildur, and 8 Human Guardian Danarion. I've also applied on your website. I'm US military stationed in Japan, so my evening gametime hours are a bit skewed, but I've seen some SoNs running around at those hours. I've got years of MMO experience, enjoy being active in guild/kin voice chat and in-game chat. I've loved Tolkien's Middle Earth since watching the 1977 Hobbit cartoon as a kid with my dad (and now watching the movies with my kids).

I enjoy moderate RP and especially raids, but mostly working/playing in a group. Look me up if you ever want to quest/raid together.

Hello I was wondering if you where still actively recruiting? I'm looking for a kinship and this one seems epic. I only ask because I will either have switch my character over or start a new one on the Landroval server. Looking at it no way I can afford nearly 3 k in lotro points So I'll have to start over. A bit about me, not found on the application: I am just a solo-centric, light-RP sort of player, looking for a Kinship to call home on Landroval. I have a long history with MMORPGs, tracing back to "Anarchy Online" in 2004, and I have been playing LOTRO on and off since November 2007. At one time, I was a Guild Officer in "World of Warcraft" (Shaman and Druid Officer), as well as Main Raid Healer, supporting the Tank Healer. This was through "Wrath of the Lich King" and into the start of "Cataclysm", before I moved on back to LOTRO. This was also when I chose to not do Raid content any longer, due to the hassles involved. Part of why I was interested in your guild is because I'm looking for a "No Drama" environment.

I am an active streamer on Twitch, where I stream my LOTRO gameplay at least three times every weekend. Usual times are 8am Saturday mornings, and 9pm on both Saturday and Sunday evenings (all times Pacific, and may vary slightly, due to Life). I have my own Discord server (for podcasting and such), so I am quite willing and able to make use of the SoN Discord server, especially if anyone in the Kinship would like to come on my stream, even if it were just to chat while we do separate things.

My primary character is my Hobbit Warden (Scormey), but I am also leveling up a Beorning (Scormur), and a High Elf RuneKeeper (Scoranthir). In addition, I have a Hobbit Minstrel in their mid-thirties (Scormus), I can break out, if needed.

Again, I look forward to hearing back from SoN, should I be deemed worthy of further consideration.

Join in an celebration of the most honorable Hobbit, Mr. Bilbo Baggins, late of the Shire, and let dread of these dark times be driven away by an epic excellent display of fireworks and music!

Special appearance by "Bilbo Baggins!"

Sons of Numenor invite all of Landroval and the LOTRO community to join them for the Seventh “Symphony of Light” in Rivendell, September 22. Activities begin 9 p.m. EST, and continue through the midnight hour.

The first Symphony of Light featured a landmark display of over 10,000 fireworks set-off in a continuous barrage. Sons of Numenor celebrates the birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins in music and light each year and invites you to participate! (and casts a blow against the oppression of Ozone!)

Schedule of events

Escorted travel from Stock to Rivendell.

9 p.m., Brandywine Bridge, Stock in The Shire.

- The Sons of Numenor will provide mounted escort to all Free Peoples wishing to attend, in a slow walk from the Brandywine, to Rivendell. Follow event announcements in the Regional channel!

Concert of Special Magnificence.

10 p.m., Rivendell Estimated depending on travel time.

- A rolling concert of Landroval’s most noted musical talents, lasting through the duration of the fireworks display. Special guest appearance by "Bilbo Baggins!"

- Located at the Spire of Meeting in Rivendell, below the Last Homely house, Sons of Numenor will commence the most epic display of fireworks seen in Middle-earth, to celebrate the birthday of Bilbo Baggins. Send Benjimir a tell to volunteer to shoot fireworks..

Afterparty -
11 p.m...ish., The Hall of Fire
- Strum a lute, play a flute, join with group for an open-mic gathering of music and fellowship in The Hall of Fire. Send a tell to Benjimir to volunteer to play during the afterparty.

Role Playing and Fellowship. - As always, there are no obligations to do so, all are welcome. However all those who enjoy fellowship and role playing are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere.

How to find the events.......

Members of Sons of Numenor will be in the Regional chat channel to assist in Rivendell.

I am coming from another server, or I am rolling a new Alt character, how do I make it to the event?

Easy! Our formation ride from the Golden Perch pub in The Shire, makes way through Bree, the Lone Lands, and the Troll Shaws! Join us along the way for safe travel!

When will the show start?

9 p.m. EST at Stock, about 10 pm EST in Rivendell.,

Can I play music?

Send a Tell to Benjimir and he'll get you setup event-night. There will be an open-mic "afterparty" in the Hall of Fire. All are welcome to take a number and play in-turn!

Can I fire my own fireworks?

Yes, but send a tell to Benjimir for instructions!
