Niagara Falls, Canada Meet and Greet. Friday June 20, 8:00PM Eastern! - OFFICIAL

Stealing Warmutkan's Post (here: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...47#post7174747) to get this thin in High gear.

We have a booking for Friday, June 20th at the Niagara Falls (Canada) Boston Pizza (click for Google Maps). The reservation is for 20 people at 8:00pm under Turbine.

    Travel information:

If you're coming from the States, the nearest access is the Rainbow Bridge next to the Falls. Boston Pizza is on Clifton Hill, circled in green on this map (link). The Rainbow Bridge is highlighted in orange. For parking, come down Clifton Hill (i.e., toward the Falls) and turn RIGHT at the sign for the Comfort Inn. It's just before a dinosaur mini-putt and the Skywheel. Tell the person at the parking gate that you're here for dinner at Boston Pizza and they will give you a free parking pass for 3 hours. The parking lot (and street it's on) are highlighted in blue on that map.

    RSVPing:

Please RSVP if you are coming so that we have a sense of numbers! You can either post in this thread or send me a PM. Once the RSVP's start coming in we'll get a list going.

    Other information:

There's lots to do in the city if you arrive early: both the Canadian and American sides of the border have lots of attractions, exhibits, and places to explore. Niagara Falls is basically Canada's Vegas: smaller and kinder, but also very fun. And of course, if you've never seen the falls themselves, they're a fantastic sight. We'll only be a 5 minute walk from the Falls, so be sure to bring a camera. The Horseshoe Falls are particularly nice - I'm told they also help you out during snowball fights at the Yule Festival, though I have no idea how you'd fit that much water in your pockets.

    See you soon!

So reply to this thread with your RSVP and please include the number of people in your party.

Same deal as previous meet and greets. I'll dig up some goodies and everyone in attendance will get the "Well Met" title for showing up.

    • YOU Pay for your own food and drink.
    • I WILL bring the might Jar of Extra Life Generosity, though I'm not entirely sure how that will work with Canadian donations (I'll need to convert them to USD somehow).

And for the record, I'm very amused by the location. Boston Pizza is very appropriate.

    I'm There!

Sign me up! I live near Buffalo, and I think this is awesome.

It'll be just me, can't convince the wife to join.

You can't call New York the "Great White North". I don't even! You've obviously never experienced a Maine winter. Come visit us sometime, Sapience. Lunch is on me. We've got some great places to eat downtown in Bangor.

    Canada, not NY.

I've been to Mae a number of times. I take day trips up as far as Kennebunk on weekends in the summer. Haven't made it to Bangor yet. Though when I do, I'm a big Stephen King fan so a drive by is on the list of 'must dos' when I get there.

Rats - 5.5h drive + extra time to drive through Toronto. Any chance you can make on up to Ottawa/Montreal sometime in the future now that Turbine has let you cross the border?

I'm pondering the wisdom of taking I-90 east and hooking up around Buffalo vs. driving from my ivy town of Bowling Green, Ohio and driving through Detroit to take that route. The difference really is if the odds are good I can get mint Aero Bars in the rest stops.

That's just sweet, we live only 20km from Niagara Falls, ON, on the Canadian side.

Count me in please, and one other player, so that makes a reservation for 2

Watch video to see what happens at a meet and greet. Here is a video of the Orlando meet and greet held earlier this year.

Is there ever likely to be a meet and greet for non US players? I know we do not make up the largest proportion of the player base, but it would be nice to get some insight from the dev team during a meet like this. Perhaps a virtual meet and greet could be set up?

I've been to Maine and to NY, try Erie, PA sometime.... if you lookup you will notice we had more snow than any city(with population over 100k) in the US this year. :-) I would like to come, may need an update on my passport though :-(

We live in St. Catharines, and are only about 20 minutes away. We'll be there - if my wife isn't away that evening. Put us down for 2 anyway. If my wife can't make it I'll update later.

Hey Vanna... I'll take an A for 100 points...

Turbine staff... please correct the spelling of "Niagra" in this thread and the launcher, to the proper spelling of "Niagara". Tell your proofreader that they are getting too many Viagra spam emails.... :P

I've driven by and stopped by a number of times. His front gate is amazing. He's pretty cool, as far as famous people go. He'll come right out and take pictures with you at the gate if he's home, usually.

As far as Kennebunk goes, that's Southern Maine/Upper Massachusetts. Need to get away from Route 1 and get north of Augusta to find (non-tourist trap) Maine. :P The University of Maine (at Orono, near Bangor) is trying to develop a game design track in the Computer Science Dept. Might be worth looking into a presentation visit?

This event is taking place in Canada, not the United States. I'm going to assume you meant some place outside of North America? As of this moment, there are no plans for any member of the LOTRO team to travel outside of the US. Sorry. As for these meet and greets they are almost all based around where I happen to go for vacation. I donate an evening of my trip to players in the area. That's what I'm doing with this.

I've been to Erie. If you're coming you will absolutely need a passport. Not to get into Canada, but to get back into the US.

Yep, I warned them we would probably go over 20. I'll give them an update call on the 6th and a final confirmation on the 19th. Will do more if the numbers grow substantially!

Sapience, can you add Madison to the list for 1? We're up to 25! ^.^
