Gilrain and the imminent server merger(s)

Arrrgghhh still undecided! One minute it's Evernight then I realise how hard it will be to play there with the bulk of new EN accounts being made there as they'll see RP and run a mile.
Then I decide on Laurelin but know that some of my names don't follow the 'lore'. They aren't offensive by any means - but they don't follow the rules for man, elf or hobbit names so then I am put off because I might have to change them.

One thing I don't get though - if the people that report are so worried about immersion, why do they have names showing in the first place. I can't remember ever seeing Dave, Bill or Betty above fellow real-lifers heads...

Theres only about 10% RPers on Laurelin... I doubt the experiences of 8 years ago will repeat themselves. And yes, there are some trolls who report everyone they can. Trolls are everywhere.

Logged into kin but deserted is not the word as it is sadly just a holding kin for alts and peeps with not much time to get on.

Still If there is any plans can you let us know as i would like to keep a few alts in kin to be able to touch base with some oldies from time to time.

Any of these rogues been spotted lately?

I think some of them are in The Elders kinship now. I did saw Ricen and Froggy before I went on holidays, which was about 4 weeks ago...

That's correct. I didn't recognise many of the names, but a few of them are with us now. I think Short (Ricen) is often on Snowbourne atm for the PvP but he's still on Gilrain too - so well worth tracking him down as you'll know he's a good bloke. (Short-1 is his game name).

It seems some are gone for good and some like myself just pop in and out as time allows.

I was kind of hoping some of the old guard may pop back for old times sake and maybe a DN run for the hell of it.
Some good times with Josh leading, Lillsten P*ssed, Andral' sarcastic wit, caz auto shooting the fungal workers on lost one, Orlain' mum making him go to bed during final boss - every time, Josaff shouting "Fckn concentrate guys", Garalli blaming the tank for his c*ck up healing, Sly super cool and Iian so funny and you and the Mellons making us seem like we were better than we actually were lol......

We have announced last night that the Invicta kinship will move to Laurelin.
We decided to go there because the community on Laurelin is much like the one on Gilrain.
Many of our members have been on both Evernight and Laurelin and told us they prefer Laurelin.

We are looking forward to meet "old" friends from Gilrain there and create a wonderfull community with the existing players on Laurelin.

If you mean Griff and his various Alts. He moved to 666 a few years ago, then that kin was renamed Unity after Loken left and Sereena now leads. As far as I know, Griff is still in game, although I haven't seen him for a while.

As previously mentioned I was dead set on Evernight...but due to the Knights decision to move en-masse, I will sail with them to Laurelin. I have checked both Servers and My name has been taken, So if I have to choose another, I will leave the game, as Ard is the only char I play and well. I'm rather fond of the chap and couldn't possibly get used to a new name after 8 years. So, i'll just have to wait and see if I win the toss on name retention.

Unless something happens in RL I intend to be here on the last day to watch the Sun go down one last time on the Gilrain server. It will more than likely be a low level alt but I will standing outside the Prancing Pony. Maybe we should all leave a little toon on this server for this event.

Defenders of Middle Earth, DoME, will, if nothing happens, move to Laurelin.

About a week ago we did a small Farewell Gilrain event by doing a couple of classic instances. The Rift at level 100 is not quite the challenge it once was but the chatty elf chick is still annoying

Anyway, I made a video of it. Mayby mostly interesting, if at all, for DoME but it might bring back a few memories of a glorious past:
