    Considering Coming Back?

    Hello Folks,

I went as Luzgrakh(R8 Reaver) back in 2011-14. Used to really enjoy this community and server. Going through these forums gave me some crazy memories again. Are there still folks playing on this server? Or have people transferred to Arkenstone/other servers?

    Thanks for all the memories.

    - Luz

    Welcome back!

There are definitely people playing on Landroval. I have some starter characters on other servers but don't really play on them so I can't tell you how large the Landroval population is relative to others. But there are always people around the major hubs at all times of day.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Looking forward to playing again!

During times I'm on I typically find 300-400 non-anons off-peak and 500-600+ non-anons at peak times. You'll see a fair number of folks in the landscape at hubs and in low-level zones but fewer in mid-level areas. I'm not sure about PvP as I don't participate.

If you are referring to normal play, all the servers are generally well-balanced. Arkenstone is more of an endgamer server while Landroval is more for the casual crowd.

If you are referring to PvMP, Landroval had some wonderful action for roughly a year when they buffed the Creeps shortly after when Minas Morgul expansion was released. The server helped promote a weekly event every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evening starting back in September 2019. It got so popular that we had to have a second raid for each side with 40 versus 40 action. It was meant to be a fun activity without "creaming" each other. As time went on, Saturday became "the elite day" while the casual crowd focused more on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Unfortunately, the release of higher tiers in Remmorchant and the added bonuses of Three Peaks has made Freeps extremely powerful on Arkenstone so much so that Creeps were demanding something to be done on the forums. SSG seemed to agree and balanced the Creeps accordingly in Update 28.2 December 2020 - https://www.lotro.com/en/content/upd...-release-notes and eventually 28.3 January 2021 - https://www.lotro.com/en/content/upd...-release-notes. Freeps on Landroval aren't generally in the business of raiding (there are still some who don't own the latest Three Peaks expansion for any number of reasons) and now are at a huge disadvantage. There are situations where 3 Freeps can't even take down 1 Creep. The developers are continuing to advance their balancing act at this moment. Their latest word is an update to pvmp gear - https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...96#post8057596. Because of this, you will only see small skirmishes appear on Landroval.

You can still pop in at around 9PM Eastern Time and see if there is anybody out there. There will always be the occasional player lurking somewhere in the Ettenmoors during the day. Certain players will hop across servers when they feel the situation demands it. You are welcome to do so when world transfers are available - https://www.lotro.com/en/worldtransfer. However, a lot of us feel like transferring to a new server isn't really necessary for what is available.
