I play with the 64bit client, high res game data. For some reason, puddles and ground effects are barely visible on my screen.
I tried enabling High Quality Lightning, which I usually have disabled to reduce stuttering (it is the only setting that affects performance greatly on my pc), this will not help. Also downloaded the DirectX updates directly from Microsoft, update drivers, nothing seems to fix this issue.
Does anyone have the solution? Some specific setting in either the game settings, NVIDIA settings, Windows settings, or a mod/shader that could help?
System specs;
Windows 10 Home
I7 7700HQ (2.80, up to 3.80GHz)

LOTRO installed on a dedicated SSD
Ever since the release of the 64-bit client along with Vales of Anduin, there has been increasingly more issues when it comes to properly seeing things. These include seeing trees that spawn with distance drawing or name tags that appear over people or animals that are standing right in front of you. There was a problem people were having during the Epic in Minas Morgul where the circles on the ground were not properly showing up - https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...Gothamogs-rage. Even after some adjustments were made, it still continued to be a problem, as Chromite showed in his post. Along with some problematic stability issues, it is one reason why I had to revert from 64-bit back to 32-bit.
Here recently I've been hearing from a lot of returnees not being able to see things on the ground. This isn't as simple as an eye not showing up above your head in the middle of a boss fight in Anvil of Winterstith. And it couldn't be corrected by simply turning on an option in Settings either. Although I do not know the specific procedure to fix the problem, I know of one person who managed to fix it through this - https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...ground-effects.

Reason: Found Link to Workaround
If it is set to DirectX9, then you will have the issue. Go here and check:
Yeah I'm pretty sure lol. Ofcourse. I have done thorough testing with all versions of DirectX, all advanced settings and most combinations. Nothing worked.
I just did a clean install and finally, I can see purple fumes dancing around my Elvish ankles again. No idea what was wrong, but it's working now!
Point of notice; For some reason, I am now getting well over 200 fps in raids and most demanding landscape, around 110 in Bree / Minas Tirith. Performance was about 30% lower before this clean install. I highly recommend everyone to do a clean install every once in a while. Don't forget to save your plugin data / user preferences and such. I know I'll never forget those again ^^
