    Removal of Yellow lines?

Recent reworking of classes has me worried for my beloved burglar. There seems to be a sediment to remove the yellow line in classes. Please, do not do this to the burg class. I like to play all three lines, I have a set of LI's for each line. I like the changes of play style when doing the same content using a different trait tree.

Each trait tree for a burg is unique and fun to use.

From what I've seen in most class discussions about removing one line and making it a utility line, 2/3 of responses either say "I don't care" or "yes remove it", and 1/3 of responses say "No please leave yellow line intact".

It's not a mystery to figure out why there's a 2/3 majority... there are three lines!! But I do worry if the devs are just looking at these discussions and seeing a majority of support in every class discussion.

You could describe the same findings by saying, 2/3 of the responses either say "I don't care" or "please leave the yellow line instact" while 1/3 of the responses say "yes, remove it". Which gives you a 2/3 majority in the other direction.

Since change is costly, it is not something to do unless there is a clear reason to doing so. In the case of minstrels, the vast majority of players were in blue or red line and server information showed that the yellow line was being used only rarely. I do not know what the server information is for burglars, but that is the information they have relied on. Which means that, if you want to save the yellow burglar, then play the yellow burglar.

The whole catch here is they had a choice of improving an unused line and making it worthwhile for more to use or just getting rid of it. There was no thread asking the preferences of the minstrel population. This change to get rid of the line was decided without any input from the player base here on the forums.

Good or bad does not matter here. Some are ok with the change. Others have problems with the change. Bottom line: It is how SSG is choosing to make the changes and share/not share their reasoning. They own the game. They set the rules and choose to solicit and give consideration to the input from the players or not.

I hope all of you with concerns and ideas will be heard and SSG will pause and take those concerns and ideas into consideration for all of the upcoming class changes.

Yellow mini was removed because it was mostly used just to set up before a fight. Not many minis would stay yellow full time. But yellow burg is the main group line for burgs, so I can't imagine them removing it. If anything, they would remove blue and distribute gambles into red and yellow.

They should make red line into the 3rd line, leaving Blue and yellow in place for the burg.

The way it was done for the mini is that yellow was not "completely removed" It's that you could not select it as main trait. One may surely talk more about minstrel and current trait lines. But this is burglar thread

Currently we have a very great feel in the idea of Gambles and they can be used effectively. However a few years ago we were teased with parity of damage to the hunter and then AOE and increased damage for all lines has arrived.

Now hunters are doing damage that is outside bounds of reality and burgs are still watching our own animations. To make a strong DOT line gain some good burst damage (notice: good, not just burst or "some damage") that would be a strong move!

Then our beloved Yellow line, again excellent, amazing feel of trickery & playing tricks. - This line has a feel of melee character the most "build it tanky" they will say. Why? What can we not have good things that work with stealth? In a "tricky" trait tree line?

Now the assassin (red) line does not have application or removal of gambles or tricks, it is just burst out of stealth and attack. And it is lacking in the feel of things, because in my opinion a huge damage would be the only thing offering some special feel to this one.

Meaning you jump out of the shadows drop a building on the enemy and are able to actually re-stealth (without long CD on stealth). But it is unrealistic to expect. I know. Last time we had discussion about Burglar damage on this very thread many Burglar - play characters made a point to tell me that Burglar is not for damage but all for support. Go figure.

SSG said in a stream that they're not intending on making one line in every class a utility line, just for classes where it makes sense. So if there are three fully viable lines that are all getting used, probably no utility line in the future for that class.
