No more buying keys for lock-boxes

Irrespective of Black Friday or other sales, after months and months and months of being a "whale" I've decided I will no longer buy any lock-box keys.
Invariably, most of the gear in the lock-boxes has worse stats then the landscape drops and crafted gear my 14 characters are using; even the rare teal items have #### stats. I don't use decorative gear and unique housing items are pretty rare (I almost always get the same ###### stuff).
I feel like the lock-boxes are not just gambling, but a waste of money.

I'm sorry it took you this long to figure out something most people already know. Thanks for supporting the game, though.

True., The Rewards Are Trash., The Main Reason To Buy Them Is To Get Splendour / Motes / Embers, And Maybe Drops On Specific Figment Of Splendour Items (depending on the current NPC vendor) You May Be After. But The Game As A Whole, Sad To Say., Is A Dying One., Big Open Middle-Earth With Nothing To Do In It, Big Nice MMO With Hardly Any Incentives To Play With Others, And Especially When Not The Same Level (which is basically all the time), Those That Dont Know., Would Say "but missions, but raids, but but but"

yeah the boxes arn't worth paying for other than you just have cash to burn(and some do for sure and thats fine)

That said I totally miss keys dropping. It was so exciting...i mean always a letdown when opening a box but still fun and exciting.

This is actually ok with me, pay-to-win kills games. Period. if these boxes were BIS stuff then people would just leave, their HH T3 clear would mean nothing.

However, it would be cool if they could make it more worthwhile in other ways. More figments maybe, or like random travel skills, some sort of QoL stuff in there,

Using the free keys given out this week I found some really nice stuff. One box had a Steed, a useful off hand sword, and 2,000 Embers.

In my experience opening low level loot boxes, about 1 in 10 contains a good reward.

I do not miss landscape key drops at all. Under the new system, all loot box cosmetic items, pets, and steeds are available for barter and earning Motes of Enchantment is fairly easy. This game showers me with cute pets, nice steeds, and pretty clothing.

I've always assumed those "managing" all the monetisation efforts in the game are very much at arms length with actually playing or developing content for it.

Just boils down to instant delivery of Motes, Figments and/or Embers. But if you have any of those at cap already and haven't "discovered" the ways and means to manage the caps dissuades their use. They won't be told! But after so long I very much doubt they have it in them to review or maintain anything offered up properly.

I occasionally take my stock of keys onto BR to have a gander, for a sizable parse. Seem like they are still aimed at a very rare seasonal drop for a cosmetic or housing item (when announced) or a random gear piece that ignores class/role still. Little chance if only buying a bunch of keys at a time from the store. Does anyone really want to get 40 rugs before the item they really want drops?

Ofc if your kin raid group has a staffer with unlimited LP to spend you are going to have to spend to compete for a slot in the raid. Not so likely on Evernight, just normal peer pressure.

At least with the Reward Track we all have the chance to claim hundreds at a time without forking out, not-with-standing the usual MC button. A 2% chance isn't so bad then.

We should maybe consider that the lootboxes and MC buttons are solely for staffers to "catch up" as they won't have the time in their busy schedules for the grinds and caps they give us.

We are due an Item level increase, have three to fit in before November's full expansion and a new level cap.
