You can definitely push for yellow to be remoulded into a fully functional support spec and I can 100% support that take. But you can't do it at the expense of blue. Blue is a popular spec, there's a lot of love for it especially on the casual side (and this game does have a pretty casual playerbase). Blue should be a competent DPS spec in its own right. Currently this is problematic due to how much overlap there is between red and blue in terms of skills but that problem is perfectly solvable, start properly locking skills behind each line. Blue most likely shouldn't have access to heartseeker, red probably shouldn't have access to some of the melee stuff. Set blue up as a spec that mixes melee and ranged abilities for optimal DPS (how many Twitch hunters have been memed on for their usage of melee skills?), let red be the long range turret.

Erasing a line is rarely ever a legitimate solution.
