    Editing Question

    Can I edit the already posted article on various topics such as http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Lore:...II_Oakenshield? When I click edit at the top of the page, it only lets me edit the very top of the page.
    EDIT: Also, are there any templates for creating Lore: articles? I'd like to add a few articles on some dwarves from the Hobbit but I want to make it look as good as the other articles made officially by Turbine. Any help would be great!

    -Thanks

    Re: Editing Question

    Some entries there are official info feeds from the game itself and that information may not be edited and will dynamically change as the game advances.

    If you wish to provide additional information, you edit the page and place your information below the existing official info.

    Specific example of what to do:

    When you edit the page, you see the following information.
    Code:
    <noedit>
    <official type="lore">
    <lore id="t/thorin" />
    </official>
    [[Category:Alphabetical: T|Thorin II Oakenshield]]
    [[Category:Individual Dwarves|Thorin II Oakenshield]]
    </noedit>
    You will notice the <noedit> tags. Do NOT edit anything between them. Simply go to below the last tag and append your information to the page.

    Some templates exist that allow for using pre-existing formats such as:

    http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Template:Errata

    You may want to take a look at the:
    http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Category:Templates area. It has a list of most of the templates in sub-categories.

    If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

    Re: Editing Question

    As mentioned, you can't edit the content within the <noedit> tags but you can append content. Even if you try and edit the content of the <noedit> tags, your changes would be discarded.

    The reason for this is to make sure that the "official" content stands out from user-provided content.

    Cool Re: Editing Question

    Ok, thanks for the info, I just wanted to provide some more in depth info on some characters. I'll be sure to add some subcategories.
