    Middle-earth Feedback: Halbarad

A kinsman of Aragorn, Halbarad struggles to unite the scattered peoples of the North Downs against the hordes of Orcs from Angmar. Like many of the Dúnedain he uses his many skills to coordinate efforts to hinder the advance of the oncoming threat.

    Re: Middle-earth Feedback: Halbarad

I've been interested in Halbarad since I first read the Lord of the Rings. I was happy to see him present in Esteldin and to be able to interact with him. One thing I have not learned is his relationship to Aragorn. There is the implication that he and Aragorn are in some way related, but I have never heard what that relationship was (cousins? uncle/nephew?). If he IS related to Aragorn, then doesn't that mean that, to a lesser extent, he is of the lineage of Isildur?

One thing I would like to add that is not directly related to the subject. I do not consider myself a 'lore monkey', although I have read and re-read the books since when JRR was still alive, but this game has increased my knowledge of the lore tremedously! Thanks! It was a thrill to me to learn more about the Evendim area and read about the battles held at and around Fornost.

He is actually one of kinsman of Aragorn, rather than related, being very close friends and blessed Dunedain... Since he sensed Aragorn's call for aid...

Sadly, even he become Standart-Bearer of Aragorn, he did not lived to see the next day of Pellonor Fields battle, and died horribly under feet of a mamukul...

    Halbarad is AWESOME!!!!

Oh, as for the Ranger-type outfit, I started a thread in the General Forum to that effect. Godrick was kind enough to share his secrets and give a screenshot.

Godrick is a good fellow. I regard him in much the same light as Halbarad... which makes the game all the more immersive for me.

Halabarad would be a fine comerade to encounter at times on and off in the game.

...getting back on track, I found it extremely eerie meeting Halbarad. I mean, he was such a good fellow, but those of us who are familiar with the books might be aware of his fate, which makes meeting him in person all the more strange...

I personally think its funny to make the poor man wait for a group to get into the Defense of Trestlebridge Instance. Make him repeat himself over and over and over. I wish the games devs could at least let him stand around quietly after like the 50th repeat asking for help.

The worst thing about doing quests with Halbarad is the fact that you know he's going to be dead in a year or so. (game time, not real time)
