    Account Transfers

One-Time character transfers per account. I believe this is needed for those of us who have more than one person playing on an account and our toons are too far along to reroll on a new account. I didnt think i would like this game as much as I did and my brother didnt either. Now we both have 60s and dont want to restart. A one time transfer could easily clear this up for others like us.

The problem with this is people selling accounts and such and selling characters. My feeling is hopefully the one transfer per account will limit this. I do believe that despite this, being able to transfer one character is needed.

Or, just put a hefty price tag on the transfer to discourage dishonesty.

The accounts also must have the same credit card info.

They're unlikely to introduce features that support people who are breaking their End User License Agreement - account sharing is forbidden. It may be difficult to enforce, but that's not exactly a reason for them to explicitly support it.

Sounds like illegal immigrants in CA and AZ clamoring for passage of the "Immigrant Amnesty" act. I'm not saying whether I'm in favor or against it, it's just a somewhat humerous (depending on your viewpoint) observation.

Although, how would Turbine tell if you were really two people who'd been playing one account or if you were someone who had sold a character to someone else? And, would it matter whether or not you were?
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back because it wasn't BoA. He kept the pony.

I'd be surprised if your not banned for stating that you share an account... read the rules, memorize em, love em.

IMHO this is not a valid reason for free character moves but is in reality a violation of the TOS.

Now a good reason to allow free character transfers, not to another account but to another server, is the new middle of the day server down time for the 3 most over crowded servers (like Brandywine) which although a minor irritant is still an irritant to players who like to play during the day.

Turbine did talk about this. They have considered it. Maybe it will occur some time in the future. The idea Turbine is knocking around. You have a character you want to transfer. You can do transfer to a new account. Not an existing one. I would describe it as an account splitting premium service.

Turbine is very aware that many small social groups. Like families. They have one gamer. The gamer allows another member to use their account. Create their own character. Many times the other member gets addicted. They want to buy another account. Split the characters.

Yeah it is violation of the agreements that I signed. A lot of us have done this over the years. My daughter and I shared characters and accounts in Asheron's Call. These rules are designed to minimize the operators costs associated with account ownership disputes. To stop undesirable game play - like use the account 24/7 - or paying for power leveling.

They are not interested in punishing a husband and wife that take turns using the same account 3 hours a day - 5 days a week. An account split is a win for everyone. Turbine gets more money because of another subscription. Husband and Wife - they can play at the same time. Assuming they got two LOTRO capable PCs.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

I agree and have seen this happen many times in other MMOs. I think it is a great way for Turbine (or any game mfg.) to "promote" their game. I wasn't saying it was wrong just pointing out it is a violation of the TOS/EULA. Besides, surely the original poster and their brother (or at least one of them anyway) realized how much they really liked the game way before they got to lvl 60. I mean I can't see getting past lvl 20 before realizing that much at least. ROFLMAO

I can't imagine sharing my account with someone else, shoot, I won't even share my computer with anyone else much less my account.
