    google maps functionality

The only 'bug' i've noticed so far is in to google maps - specifically for quest npc's and items. Some appear where they are supposed to, others appear way in the western Great Sea (even though the popup shows the correct coordinates). Also, the zoom function sometimes jumps/shifts the view over to a useless part of the map. (You know, the red box that appears when you zoom in or out) - well it works in some spots, in others it just jumps to another tile far away - so zooming to see an area is impossible depending on which area and where you started zooming from.

Yes, this is a known issue that's been a thorn in my side since I started. Some items/NPCs we just can't bubble up to the right location; they may be inside an instance inside of another instance. Haven't untangled that Gordian Knot yet. Some day...

Does that mean all normal 'landscape' npcs should show up correctly? -Would be a good thing to know (in the meantime) when looking up quests stuff.

I won't say "all" as there is always something that doesn't get flagged and exported out. With that caveat in place, you should see landscape NPCs and the bulk of NPCs within an instance not in another instance.

Gandalf is always a good example of this second case. You can see on his map that we can place him inside the Prancing Pony and inside the Last Homely House. For both instances, we give the coords for the door/portal that leads you inside.

We try to do this for all NPCs, landmarks, etc. However, the data for some just gets circular trying to find the proper door/portal and eventually gives me a headache. Someday, I hope to crack this once and for all...

I never used the lorebook maps before - but I dont get how to use it ...

I select Interactive Map and then I've tried to select some of the options: region / mobs / trainers etc. All I get is the satellite view and no markers. I can zoom in but still no markers and the map is never centered in the region I select. I've tried filter for a specific item - same thing.

Also, I dont see the parchment option either... just the google map.

Obviously Im not doing something right.

Hmm... try clearing your browser cache and see if that clears things up. If not, please post what browser, OS you are using along with any firewall, ad blockers, browser extensions that may be in place. Screenshots of what you are seeing would also be useful.

the zoom feature seems to work better if you double-click the left or right mouse buttons. parchment option is in upper-right corner, if you don't see it you have a browser problem - if emptying cache doesn't work maybe upgrading to latest version?

you might not see markers because some of them land way off in the western sea instead of in the chosen area...

Clearing the browser cache for the domain cleared it up... I can now select filters and see the parcement map too.

Just a first observation.. I selected Bree-land/Class Trainers. I get the map, the markers and the left-side panel. All have the NPC names but not what kind of trainer they are. Nice to see all the trainers but not too helpful if you want to know which NPCs train what.

I seem to have a problem zooming in on the map. It always "resets" back to some non-spot in the ocean every time I either click the + icon on the controls or double-click on a spot.

Specifically I am trying to zoom in on Dol Guldur!

We are aware of the issue and are trying to find the right incantation to make this go away. We'll let you know when we've got it.

Any update on fixing some mob/NPC locations?

I know: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Monster:G%C3%BAlbrennil is listed correctly but http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Monster:Faechiril is still showing off the map. Both of which are outdoor flake-dropping mobs.

No fix at this time; we know where the issue lies, but other tasks have been delaying digging into it further. Better news in the future (soon!).
