    Shrew Stew

I have made a new stew
the base goo they call roux
    down there on the bayou
    where they tour by canoe

    It tasted like glue
so I threw in a slew
    of things you can chew
    celery, carrots, beaucoup!
    and onions; just two
and some meat of the shrew
    roasted golden of hue
    on a skewer (bamboo)
    that I dipped into
    a rich cheese fondue
    I used cheddar, not blue
    no, that would not do
it would tastes like a shoe

then I let the mix brew
    and sang ballyhoo
    while my crew blew kazoo
    or played didgeridoo

    and when we were through
they all stood in a queue
    we were long overdue
for a bowl of the debut
    and none did eschew
    nor boo in review
    as they bid me adieu
and ran off to the loo

    What can you do
    to lure the shrew
    to Khazad Dum
    to mix the stew
    with crawler meat, too?
    and maybe soon
    the Dwarf chef's stew
    will be added to
    and we will do

    Shrew Stew Part Deux!

    No squirrels in view--
    They all quickly flew:
    I see only a shrew.
    No Brunswick stew
    can I hope to do:
    get ready to chew
    shrew I'll imbue
    with spices a few
    plus taters too
    and broth for you.

    Very nice,

Finally someone took the shrew "debate" and made something useful.

Nice poem, I hope that an artistic/creative post like your's will get at least as much hit and replies as the schizophrenic PETA lover thread did...

Art is worth commenting, useless nonsense ain't!

    Cheers.

Since most of the time people react to criticism, I will do one smart-4ss yet proactive and appreciative critic

I like the fact that you added a few french word to your poem... the only problem is that they do not rhyme.

Beaucoup is fine but fondue, début and adieu are not. Their pronunciation don't go with the shrew, stew...

    Cheers (bis)

I want to emphasize on the FACT that I like that you used french... It's not a post from a frustrated french Canadian!

    Cheers (bis) (bis)

Pronounce fondue, debut, and adieu with an American accent and they rhyme with shrew and stew.

    Re: Shrew Stew

Pronounced with and American accent... Now we have to localize American... Mexican, Afro, Southern and the list goes on an on... Hey! Canada is in America too! you know that Larger piece of land on top of the U.S.

Sure, as an Artist you can type... It was intended to be pronounced with such and such accent... But I think that it's just an excuse... That place that you put your car in... a Garage... It's a french word too and the pronunciation is the exact same.

So your argument is valid (so is mine)

Oh. any non-flaming reply on this thread gets rep (as much as I can in 24hr)

    Cheers
