Glowing hands are back, and its horrible... I am glad only one of my minstrels goes into war speech. I didn't think it would be so bad.

Stop repairing nuclear reactors with your bare hands.
Someone has to help Japan, oh wait, U.S. taxpayers are doing that, guess I can pull my hand out of the reactor.
what's wrong with glowy hands ? I think its awesome.. makes us really stand out from the crowd now..
So happy they're back![]()

One question though... I don't go into the moors and do the PvMP ????, but do the monster players see that a minstrel has glowy hands? Wouldn't this give away if a minstrel is in warspeech or healing stance when they are doing PvMP?

[size=1]I'm fairly certain no one is leaving the game due to confusion of what a strawman is or isn't. Which tells me we're done here.

It would be no different than seeing the WS icon, I always check when I'm on my creep to see if a mini is healing or not. Glowy hands will just make it a second faster to tell.
Oh... and FEAR THE GLOW! FEAR IT!

Used to show a pic... Seems to be broken links now. Good Ole Turbine.
I didn't realize until last night that when power of song activates a warspeech skill my hands would light up.
People will think their minstrel is in warspeech. Power of Song shouldn't activate the glow hands. It can cause misunderstandings in badly stressed out groups.
Love the glow hands, missed them since they left, but power of song lighting them up, not cool.
And while we're talking old school minstrel, I want my bright golden bubble back from early game. The dark moodly bubble's never lived up to it's shiny cousin.

Be Excellent To Each Other
I begged them not to do this again.
This is Middle Earth, we shouldn't be glowing like Christmas trees.
You have no idea how severely this hurts me, as I've been forced to retire my main, and most famous, character - Skjald of Rohan, as a result of this.
I can only hope they'll change it back, but it seems the WoW kiddies are the only ones they listen to anymore.

No, I don't like it, I think it is the most ???????? thing in the game I have ever seen. Maybe if I was going for the cute fairy look on a female elf called "Tink" I might want it, or a female human named "Roxxy" or "Cherry" who happens to be employed in a certain deviant profession, then, then I might want sparklers in my hand.
Yeah it's not that we people who prefer non-radioactive looks have a place to run to so what we gonna do about it?
Quite so. I play to be immersed in Middle Earth, and flashy magic breaks that immersion. I can not use the Runekeeper, and other blatantlymagical powers (eg. the Hammerhand skills) I can not use because they're peripheral. War Speech is integral to the class. I'm a Warrior Skald, I can't NOT use it. It's forced on me.
Thus, I give up. Skjald is retired. I will recreate him in another class, but it will never be the same, and my respect and admiration for the devs is all but gone now.

All those complaining about ws glowy hands are in the miniority. Glowy hands are awesome, end of story, even if it is a stretch of lore. It is still a pretty subtle effect compared to what you see in other games. If you are so worrried about the game being lore appropriate, you should have quit the game when sith lords.... I mean rk's and hobbit spartans...err I mean wardens were added. Its just a game.

Just a game TO YOU. Some of us have invested a little bit of ourselves into this. When you get bored, you'll go off to find the next "game" with its flashy lightshow, but I'll still be here lamenting the passage of Middle Earth.
As I said elsewhere, I'm a lifer, I'll be here til the bitter end. I just didn't expect it to be bitter so soon.

We didn't complain about tolkien Lore.
It's basic physics that we prefer only get violated when it's some amount of necessary. Doing it to the mini all the time while in war-speech is not. This goes a couple steps beyond what e.g. the trails of fire on the occasional warden skills do.
Hold on. Glowing hands bothers you, but a character running around in battle playing the harp doesn't? Swapping instantaneouly from sword to instrument makes sense to you? Not having any instrument in your inventory at all and still having a magical lute appear is okay? The fact that you can sing a song that actually protects you from fire is allowable?
I'd say this game really isn't for you if you want completely and utter adherance to...I can't say realism...LoTR lore? Perhaps you should try LARPing.
Kynji
Thank you for proving my point.
Umm, it is just a game. I first read Lotr at 12 and like the lore a lot. But you have to realize its a game and it will be gone someday. Played the game since moria, haven't gotten bored of it yet
Besides sometimes you have to stretch lore to make things more awesome. Like PJ adding balrog wings to balrogs, even though everyone knows that balrogs dont have actual wings heh. It was ok to just make that moment more epic.

Guess what, I am not complaining about RK's and Wardens, you know why, because I don't want to play a hobbit warden. I want to play a minstrel, if some one wants to be a sith lord or short spartan, they can be my guest, but I am not. And I do not like glowing hands, no, they are not awesome. And I do not play other games, I play this game. Its just a game, agreed, a game is meant to be enjoyed, I can not enjoy playing my minstrel when I have yellow hands.
As far as the guy complaining about us disliking music, read the lore, music and love is the bane of all things evil, it makes sense that the sound of beautiful music would destroy completely and utterly forces of evil.
I HATE glowy hands, Raskolnikov should have realized how deep the divide was between those who like it and those who don't and provided a way to turn off the effect.
However, if they're here to stay, the 'enjoyment' should be extended to all classes: glowy red/white/blue/green/purple/orange/teal/pink hands should be assigned to appropriate classes when they are in a dps stance or battle attuned. Minstrels shouldn't have to be the only ones who suffer.
