does turbine designate valuable players ie rate them?

a senior player told me he has been voted most valuable player (or something just like that) by Turbine for several years running. How do we find out about these players and where are the awards posted, I havent been able to locate them in the Forums or in Google?

I'm afraid someone may have been pulling your leg. We have never done this.

Riiight. Next thing you'll tell us is that my "JohnQPublic winz teh Interwebz" award isn't real either.
Pretending that something didn't happen, doesn't make it so.

Sapience is the one pulling your leg.

The LOTRO MVP awards are run like the Nobel Prizes (there is more than one Nobel Prize), if you are in contention to win a Nobel prize or the LOTRO MVP, you are only told about it if you are chosen as the winner (except the Nobel Peace Prize, that one is not secret). Anyone who was evaluated for the LOTRO MVP or a Nobel science prize but did not win is not told about it. Anyone who says they were "runner up LOTRO MVP" is definately telling you untrue things (the same for the Nobel science prizes, the list of people being judged for those prizes is kept secret).

Turbine has not said much about how players are selected or what they are judged on for LOTRO MVP, but rumor has it that a keg party and a magic 8-ball are involved in deciding who wins the LOTRO MVP award.
Therina - Hobbit Guard Rongo - Hobbit Warden
Frood - Man Minstrel Garmun - Man Captain
Zorosi - Dwarf Champ Froodaroon - Elf Hunter
Southern Defenders - Arkenstone (formerly Elendilmir)

while there is no MVP award in LOTRO they do grant special forum titles from time to time if you have done something of note in the community such as write an extensive and helpful user created guide (like my self ), won a contest (like the picture contest they had for Yule) or participated in some event (such as beta for Moria).

And besides it wouldn't be fair for others if I was always winning these titles.
Better to let others think they are just as awesome
