Talking What songs you listen to when playing Lotro?

When I am leveling, I listen to Nightwish ------->http://youtu.be/8VgLKXD-BoY
Tarja is an amazing singer. She hypes me to get to 75 faster o.o
Someone got me stuck to Nightcore style of music, I also like to listen to them. The style is like Scorpiomist on the 10 cup of coffee, check them out --------->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngLKD8jH2MY

Hmm. Well, sometimes I throw on some cheesy epic music a la Two Steps From Hell or something, or stuff from movie soundtracks like PotC. Other times, I don't put on music but have one of my favorite webshows - usually the Nostalgia Critic or Atop the Fourth Wall primarily - running in the background.

Nothing specific, just recent favorites that I tend to pick up.

The Song of the Dying Orcs.... aka no music, or the music from Lord of the Rings, or some other fantasy track.

MY wife also plays, we sit next to each other, she gets headaches from headphones so uses a regular sound system... if we are in the same area, our music is usually not synched, drives me nuts as I can hear two the same songs at different points of their respective playtime.

It really depends on where I am. I like the music in the AH, Trollshaws, and Lothlorien, but I play something from my collection when I'm in Dunland.

I put on everything from Jeremy Soule. For those who didn't know, Mr. Soule composed the soundtracks for Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind. Epic music, and it goes well with LOTRO. Other than that, there's Two Steps From Hell, Enya and of course, Howard Shore! =)

Does listening to whatever my kiddo has on the tele and everyone in the house talking to me count?

There are only two songs I will listen to while playing Lotro.

1: Meatloaf - I'd do anything for love, on a continuous loop

    OR if doing slayer deeds,

2: The benny hill theme song, on a continuous loop.

(the first is a joke, but the second is seriouz)

Nice, looks like I'm not the only one Also South Park or some other random show I happen to stumble upon, and the podcasts of CSTM or the Tolkien-professor are nice to listen to as well.

Re: What songs you listen to when playing Lotro?

I usually listen to the in-game music because I'm far too lazy to turn off the in-game music and find something else to listen to. If I did, I'd probably go for Jeremy Soule's Guild Wars soundtracks - they would fit the mood but probably feel downright wrong because I'm so used to hearing them in another game! Other than that I could imagine listening to the LOTR soundtracks if I ever needed change. Anything else would probably seriously throw me off, but that's just me.

I never see the point in listening to anything other than the game's own music, for me that's part of the whole experience .. and while I love Tarja-era Nightwish, it isn't something I'd ever dream of listening to playing a video game.

I love listening to Middle-earth network radio, seriously they play a great mix of songs perfect for adventuring plus they have their own shows that include lots of LOTRO gossip and info.

Usually I don't listen to music while playing Lotro, but when soloing some Rare Elite or some instance I like to get boosted with uptempo tracks form Korn/Ministry/Slipknot ...

On Spotify I have a "Music to kill orcs by" playlist that has a lot of Immediate, Erik Ekholm, Juno Reactor, etc. Other times I'll queue up several of Hans Zimmer's greatest soundtracks.

We do as well for talk radio but not most of the time. Or BBC7(4Xtra). CasualStrollPodcast on LOTRO Saturday with our Kin, which is also on MER.

For the music though, we mostly listen to LastFM or Pandora Radio with Soundtracks radio, LOTR radio or nightwish/within temptation radio selected in the mix.

MER goes off track with Simon&Garfunkle style folk WAY too much. I survived the 70's once I don't need to go through that again. If they just played soundtracks and LOTR based music (and renfaire type bands) I would listen to it more. But lately I have changed it more than I have stuck with it.

I listen to them to give me a wake up boost. Sometimes the game's own music is more like a lullaby.

I listen to the game's soundtrack -- I love it and after all these years still prefer it over anything else while in game.
