Strategic Hobbit Incursion to Evacuate Lost Dwarves - OFFICIAL SCHEDULE AND INFO

Twenty Nine Dwarves - Twenty Nine Servers - A whole lot of trouble.

    Character Name: Tosmii.
    Level: 50.

    Event Starts: Durin's Threshold
Event Ends: The Gates of Caras Galadhon

You must also make sure Tosmii completes the "In the Footsteps of the Fellowship" deed.
To complete the deed, the group must do all of the following.

In The Footsteps of the Fellowship
    • Find Durin’s Threshold.
    • Find the Chamber of the Crossroads.
    • Find the Twenty-first Hall.
    • Find the Chamber of Mazarbul.
    • Find the Bridge of Khazad-dum (West arch).
    • Find the Bridge of Khazad-dum (east Arch).
    • Find the First Hall.

The deed will be added to my quest tracker and placed in full view of the stream. So you can watch them tick off each portion. Miss one and you'll have to go back. The timer runs until the deed is finished and Tosmii is at the gates of Caras Galadhon

Just like last time, Tosmii can die once and will reset to the Milestone at Durin's Threshold. If he gets stuck, or falls into a pit he cannot get out of (see what I did there?) then he resets to the Milestone and it counts as your one 'death'. If Tosmii dies/gets stuck a second time, the event ends.

To be very clear, if you get Tosmii to the gates, but the deed is not finished, then the event is not over. You will need to go back and find the missing portions of the deed.

Every run will be available live on our official Twitch.tv channel, http://www.twitch.tv/lotrostream so if you can't make a run, you can watch and join in the chat with other players. Be sure to follow us on Twitch so you'll be notified each time a stream starts.

Do you mean the milestone at Durin's Threshold as soon as you enter Moria? Or is there one outside?

The Hollin Gate also known as the Doors of Durin or the West-gate is the Entrance to Moria from Nan Sirannon outside Echad Dúnann in Eregion just outside the Walls of Moria. To Quote the wiki, so I'm assuming Durin's Threshold Milestone.

I don't think U14 is needed for these runs, so I wouldn't get your hopes up, especially since there isn't an update available for testing/previewing on bullroarer yet and larger updates are on bullroarer for more then a week most of the times if I remember correctly.

I think we can hope U14 will be available on bullroarer friday, because I don't think they will bring bullroarer online just for this

Not saying u14 is needed for these runs. But i would find it odd if some runs went before u14. Changes in the game, 5 more levels and different gear, isn't exactly fair and could put some servers at a advantage or disadvantage.

My character, and its gear will not be changing once I am able to enter moria. If existing level 95s struggle with a level 50 space, adding 5 levels isn't going to help them much. Being very honest here.

I meant more of an advantage or disadvantage in the competition between servers, not the overall difficulty of the event. As the last event proved seconds can be the difference between winning and losing and a new expansion brings better gear and potential class changes that could give those few extra seconds.

That being said i guess it really doesn't matter, its all for fun anyway.

Then were all the runs at take the hobbits to isengard unfair, because some servers are smaller as others. But its all about having fun and get answers from Sapience about the future anyway its my opinion.

Slight advantage to the later servers? Sure, 100s will be able to kill faster than 95s. But I'd rather these events continue at the pace they're scheduled at, rather than lose out on the face time with the devs as the game continues to move forward. Hearing from them (and having them hear us) is a big part of what Rowan seems to have brought in this year. Let's keep up with that.

It really makes no difference. As Sapience said, if you can't handle a run through Moria at level 95 (or even at 50) geared to the nines or otherwise, you have a problem. Who cares about gear anyway, it's for fun.

I agree it's all about having fun. Though for us on the West Coast, we'll be stuck at work once again... these events are at 2pm.
Our only choice is to watch it at our desks while getting strange stares from the people around us as we scream at the monitor.

To me, the fun stems from fair competition. After Update 14 the Champs and other classes will have upgrades to their skill lines.
But we'll know for sure after the Update if the completion times change significantly.

    I don't think a goblin 1-shotted by a lvl 100 is going to die any faster than a goblin 1-shotted by a lvl 95...

    YMMV

Just please! No nekkid Dwarves! The only thing worse is seeing a Dwarf on a goat or pony from behind *shudders*

With the Bullroarer run scheduled for the 17th, does this mean that u14 will also be live on the server at this point?

But he might be more dead than the one shot by a level 95.

And I remind everyone that these are meant to be fun. If that's not something you are interested in and you need something else, these events aren't for you.

Since the Bullroarer B1 patch notes are up this morning, I'd say the chances are pretty good.

Is more dead similar to mostly dead? There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead....
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

Yes...it would be nice if they were a bit later, although perhaps that isn't feasible. I'm happy to be able to watch the streams at least. But if there is ever a third event of this type (or any type), any chance you could schedule them at 7 or 8 EST, so people in the PST timezone could have a chance to attend?

Could somebody please explain what this thread is about? I honestly have no clue. It sounds like a community event of some kind, but for some reason, it seems like it is written in code.
