I was pleasantly surprised when, upon meeting Frodo in Rivendell, I was assaulted by dread as I approached him.
Nice touch.

My only gripe with the famous Hobbits is where Bilbo is located...He's on his feet...I always pictured him sitting by the fireplace...because his tired old legs couldn't take standing all day...(He should be around 127 to 128)

Nitpick alert!
Isnt Frodo Bilbo's nephew, not his cousin?
Though in the book Bilbo called Frodo his nephew, he was actually his cousin, related through both his parents. You can view his family tree in the appendices in ROTK.![]()

I too was under the impression that Frodo will Bilbo's nephew because that is how they address each other. But it still makes sense to me.
I am the child of the oldest of seven children. When my Mom's youngest brother (the youngest of the seven) had kids I was in my late teens. Although his children were my cousins they got in the habit of calling me Uncle because I was almost 20 years older than them. They continued the practice until they reached their early teens.
I guess Bilbo and Frodo (who were born 78 years apart) never broke the habit.
You never know though, Hobbits have some strange traditions. Giving instead of getting presents on your birthday just for one. Maybe hobbit kids are taught to address family members a generation older then they are as Uncle/Aunt.
Just my take on it.

Oh good. I see I'm not the only nerd that was wondering about the cousin/nephew thing. I feel better now.![]()
I don't really like the touch of Bilbo having a beard..
Where's Pippin? He's not mentioned on the Celebrity Hobbits page, this makes me sad.
Wow, Merry looks like an old school British rock star. Digging it!
When I met them in Beta 1, my computer couldn't show their faces all that well, so I am glad I have a nice clear picture now.

OOC: That drawing of Bilbo reminds me of Robert Shaw from Jaws.
Frodo was interesting when you did your walk with him, but he has far too few hit points. I mean based on his hp he is only like level 12. At any rate he should have at least 1,000 hit points -- either that or hide his hit points when you walk with him -- it isnt something you need to know.

Yes, but they differed enough in age to treat each-other more like uncle and nephew, than two cousins. This isn't the most unusual familial arrangement in LoTRO either, most people don't realize that Aragorn and Arwen are actually first cousins, about 68 generations removed.![]()
In a lot of cultures your "uncle" can be your "cousin" as well. For instance, "uncle" might be a more specific word, while "cousin" is more broad, including your cousin cousin, your uncles, your great uncles, etc. In the book BOTH terms are used concerning Frodo and Bilbo.
I still think Frodo is a little funny-looking in-game, but after seeing the concept art I can accept it =P.
I was actually a little disappointed by the dialogue during the Frodo escort quest. Frodo is my favorite character in any book of all time and I was so excited to go on a quest with him. When I did... he gave me nothing. The dialogue was like something a kindergardener would write. "Do you have many friends? I should be happy to have many friends! This quest is hard!" Sometimes tells me that he would have something slightly more profound to say than that =P.
But anyway... the page is good![]()
