Just a thought. I know this won't happen

Would Lotro have more new players if you could start in places like a Dwarf in Moria, Elf in Lothlorien, Man in Rohan or Gondor? Now I know by this time it's impossible to implement people starting in these places since the game is old, and places like Minas Tiirth are high lvl areas and newly developed. Though back when Lotro was new none of these places were in Lotro, exvept Rivendell.

Also I think that new players would rather see the former places rather than the latter (Shire, Breeland, etc) And the revamp of Bree looks more modern than the old Bree. Though I think new players are put off by the old graphic style in the starter regions and quit before they even reach more impressive art design and graphics of Moria. Thats the thing. Even when I was a noob, I wasn't interested in seeing Breeland, I was dead set on seeing Minas Tirith, Moria, Mordor etc.

So overall. Is Lotro even getting new players everyday? And do these players even make it to Rhovanion and beyond?

With the Gift and Blessing of the Valar, you come pretty close to that right now.

As a new player, these places you mention are places I look forward to

but since I am still exploring the Shire, Bree and Erud Luin they will remain things I look forward to

Older players with newly generated Characters might appreciate, but as a new player...I don't know what I am missing, and always suprised by what I don't know. Forinstance I am in love with the environment so far, because I don't know better

So I am okay with letting things unfold before me, because its all brand new

I am comforted in knowing there is depth out there for me (even if I have to pay for it) and that I won't reach the end anytime soon saying "Now what"

Exactly my thoughts. I yearn to get to places like Moria, Angmar, Lothlorian, Mirkwood etc. I did cheat and already visit Minas Tirith. But I sill long to do battle if the fiery Pellanor fields. Like with a huge epic work like Lord of the Rings, I want to slowly savor it and do not want to get to the end any time soon.

That said I can also imagine others wanting to jump right into the meatier places in Middle Earth. And I guess that is where massive XP accelerators come in. Personally I think maybe they should come in ten level increments for those who want to boost really fast to play in key areas.

New Players: Yes. Just check the newbie zones on the current recommended server.

Do they stay around? Only a few do.... once they get to Level 30-ish they realize that they are going to have to save a lot of TP getting things like Evendim, Angmar, and such, and of course Moria is a must to move on..... or spend real money on such things. That's when a lot of new players stop playing. Some stick around and start deeding and doing instances and tough it out, and maybe spend some real money on Moria..... But a lot of them start to lose interest after level 30 and gathering TP becomes the main thing to do to move on.
Moved from Riddermark to Arkenstone on 9/29/2015!

I would love for them to do something like this, after all they did work the Beorning this way. It does not need to be a large area but something like the learn to play before the intro area. And they did revamp the starter areas years ago; there were mobs to kill in the elf area and culling of wild beasts closer to Thorins halls. I would love a story behind my Mirkwood elves leaving home to aid mortals so far from home, and why would a elf from Lothlorien leave the woods when so few even speak the common tongue?

That's what your character's biography is there for
