I purchased a premium house yesterday, set some decorations, added permission to friends and went to bed. This morning, the house still says it is mine but I cannot enter or use decoration mode and the permissions are not as I set them. I have logged out and into the game and used the new housing teleporting but doesn't change the situation. Oh and the address appears in RED lettering.
Okay, here's the deal. I left the zone entirely, went to Bree. Then I re entered with the transport icon and it fixed the problem for about 5 minutes. I entered my house then got booted, message saying I didn't have permission to be there. Now, again, I cannot interact with the outside decorations, the permissions are messed up and I cannot re enter the house.
Another post-note. I think I have figured out a problem causing this. The character I purchased my premium house was NOT the same character as the owner of my Breeland Homestead house. AND the owner of my premium house was not on the permissions list of the Breeland house since I'd not gotten around to adding her. So when I try to add her for permissions to the older Breeland house, I get a message that I cannot add the owner of the house. SOOO the game thinks my new premium house owner is also the owner of my older Breeland house, which she isn't. This is all on Brandywine server btw.
I think the game is confused that I have 2 different characters as owners of the houses and unfortunately one of them was not even on the permissions list of the other's house.
Yes, we are currently working to fix an issue that is preventing players from accessing their premium homes occasionally. Usually a five minute wait will allow someone to enter.
There is a reason why many kinships I know are waiting for housing to come out of the beta and maybe then purchase.
Yup, after seeing how so many housing bugs in beta were left ignored or unaddressed before launch, our Kin leader sent a kin mail to everyone recommending no one purchase Premium Homes for a month to give time for Turbine to correct the dozens of bugs left alone.
There's even a thread on Bullroarer forums recommending Turbine delay housing launch to fix the system. They ignored those player recommendations, and now their GMs and Customers Service team are left picking up the slack by answering or ignoring mithril coin tickets due to Turbine's lack of foresight.
Who knows if the VIP upkeep will even work properly after a few weeks, maybe these premium homes will start auto-foreclosing because VIPs weren't able to pay upkeep, we don't know. but lets hope not.
Either way, this housing system was clearly not ready or live.
I wonder how many players are now missing bunches of mithril coins because they were early adopters of a bugged system.
Thanks for responding Cordovan. However, waiting 5 or 50 minutes does not change the unable to enter or interact problem. Here is what I do to "fix" it for a while.
I log into my Breeland house owner. She is able to "add" my Cape House owner's name to the permissions list and I give her full permissions. Then I can use my premium house again by both the owners of houses for a time. After some time, the permissions seem to drop off the premium house list for any character on my account. The permissions for friends on other accounts do not drop off or change. Rinse and Repeat.
I was so excited about the new housing and now just kinda sad
Bought my premium house yesterday, started trying to move decorations over from my standard house and have been tossed out of my premium house and then locked out of ALL housing, standard and premium, twice. Looks like a security/authorization issue if the message presented was to be trusted. Raised a help ticket, but not holding my breath. Reboots made no difference, but within 1/2 hour I seem to be able to get back into my house again. 495 mithril spend for this is pretty damn disappointing, but I do love the house itself.
We will be fixing this issue in a hotfix tentatively scheduled for Monday. This is being caused by a halo effect of the work to re-integrate the outdated token system into world character transfers.
