Someone messed up. Orc shield from year 4 still has the Ithilien Yule placeholder look on it.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Tarkrîp Clan Shield is indeed using an incorrect appearance. I would encourage you to hold onto the cosmetic item rather than destroying it until the problem can be rectified and you can make a decision based on its intended look.
Hopefully /reclaim will work!
/reclaim actually never works with barter items, quest or deed rewards, etc. Rather it restores only those items that you get when you roll a new character that are auto-granted to you. I wish it worked with regular items. When running out of space around level 45 way back in the day, I vendered my Prized Pie. Very sad.....

Ah nice to hear, wondered the same at kin chat yesterday, wondering if was a bug or so since outfit was the same as previous items and tarkrip was expecting a orc looking shield and so.
Safe travels o7
Destroying an item, which is obviously not looking as intended... their own fault.
It's called Tarkrip clan shield and uses Ithilien appearance.
Reading name... looking at its visuals... use brain... ah there seems like something has gone wrong, guess they'll fix it soon. -> wait before deleting
Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.
Trapper of Foes needs better tools to fulfill it's supporting(CC and offensive debuffs) and DoT role.
I've never actually looked at my prized pies to check if they are bound to character or account. I'm guessing character?
The cosmetic shield at least has some workaround for accidental deletion, as an alt can go get one. Be nice for you if that could work with the pie.
Sometimes, no matter how hard you look, there is no best light.
You could try sending a ticket and explaining your mistake and how much you want the prized pie (I agree with you on that fight against Sauron thing! A Prized Pie will surely be needed!), and ask if they could perhaps delete the quest from your log or reset it or something so you could redo it?They will probably say no, but at least you will have tried
Doesn't hurt to ask!

While I agree with you that players that deleted the shield acted hastily, at the end of the day, this is an SSG error - not a player error. I understood as soon as I saw the shield appearance, it was wrong, so did others, but not everyone may have.
I don't blame players for this, nor do I necessarily blame SSG. Mistakes happen. This one was hopefully caught early enough and made public so that not many players would have had time to act in haste. For those that did, maybe SSG can put that right further down the questline by slotting in the shield a second time as an extra. Those that got it this week, can simply destroy the duplicate. It's an easy bandage.

ummm look at world chat... common sense does not exist in Lotro. I mean come on... people could not find a stage inside the Prancing Pony than could not figure out which was the right side of the stage.....
Yet people expect those same people to figure out this is the wrong shield before they rage delete.
Amazing
To me, this is just another check of how badly this scavenger hunt looks and makes lotro 10 year Anniversary a major epic fail
Anyone wanna place bets on whats screwed up in year 5?
Does QA even exist in Lotro anymore?
I saw it and thought, "Tarkrip? Did they really mean Gondoran?" Orcs using stolen gear? Pretty sure they would not use a white tree symbol if they had a choice...
I can envision the fix: them changing the reward name, not the appearance!
I dropped it in my shared wardrobe but still have the original in the vault. Hopefully it gets fixed for the wardrobe as well.

I mean, it seemed slightly odd to me, but it's been so long since I saw a Tarkrip shield that it didn't immediately strike me as something that was a bug--maybe just poorly-named. Plenty of cosmetics in-game that look different than you'd guess based on their names.
Fortunately I kept it because I've never done Yule and had never seen the shield, and it looked pretty cool. Now I guess I'll do Yule this year to get one if they change the appearance.
Work like no one is watching, dance like you don't need the money...
It looks 100% identical to the Ithilien shield. It was obviously a bug.
For those who trashed it, they could add it to the barter vendor for a pitifully low price in marks with the requirement that the relevant quest be completed. Similar to how the Hytbold barterers work.
