The Lay of Rust and Rime

From update 22 patch notes :The Lay of Rust and Rime is a series of Strongholds in the North end game episodic quests that will become available on Wednesdays starting March 14th

As of today it appears you can start the Lay of Rust and Rime episodic end game by completing the quest arc given from the queen of Dale.

The second quest arc appears to be based in laketown..I searched for a NPC to give the quest but cdnt find any.

Are we to assume each of these quest's for the Verse one deed will open on a weekly basis? with lake town open next week or at some further time?

Some clarity on the timescales of when the next quests will be available would be helpful please
    lil 'obbit of Evernight..

Actually, some clarity on where Rust and Rime begins and who from would be even more welcome; it doesn't look as though any information is provided. I was told by several players to speak with the Queen Regent in Dale, but I couldn't get anything out of her. I have already completed the chain of quests she gives (one to do with refugees and one with her brat of a younger son), and to the extent that a negative can be confirmed, I have completed all available quests in Dale, Lake-town and Felegoth - at least, I can find no more quest-givers in all three locations. So am I bugged, or am I missing something?

Lay of Rust and Rime episodic content becomes available at the same moment you open dailies (and that requires finishing pretty much all the content of the update plus a couple of final quests till the Epilogue - check Hallandil's post about requirements).
You will receive mail from the queen of Dale summoning you to the city. She will have several quests for you - Restoring the 3 Kingdoms(wrapper for dailies, resets on Thursdays and Sundays), a couple of daily quests and Heralds of a New Age. That last one is the first in Lay of Rust chain and ends in Hall under the Mountain so it's possible that the next week's quest will start there.

Wednesday 9th of May and no sign of a new quest for Lay of Rime and Rust. The deed log does seem to point out last week's quest as the last listed, with a placeholder "to be continued" quest as the last entry. Although tbh, I do not recall if all quests were listed prior to their release each week.

But on either case, where does that put us in the continuum of the questline? We got no update on the end date of the current chain from SSG. How far is "the next chapter"? (hopefully not next expansion like the epic book following Gondor/Mordor)
And I'm not even impatient to get the 50 tokens from the deed completion, I just genuinely enjoyed the plot and was anxious to see what would come this week

Yeah I had my eyes on the 50 coin reward. I suppose it's like all those Meta Deed and Kindred(+) rewards they often come after you could have used them.

In this case I still need them ofc.

These will all be explained in the patch notes for our next Update (22.2), but here's a few updates about The Lay of Rust and Rime:

-There are 8 more episodes coming to conclude the story, bringing it to 16 total. If you've enjoyed the story so far, I think you'll like playing the second half even more.
-Each of the 8 new quests also award 5 tokens.
-Because the length of the overall story has doubled, the final payout for the LRR Deed is now 100 tokens, a special item, and a unique title.
-The "verse" text has been removed from the LRR Deed and it now covers all 16 weeks of the story.
-The final quest (Week 16) has a selectable statted item reward.
-These new episodes will kick off when 22.2 launches and continue to roll out once a week.

Any signs of a new update?

Picking up the thread of the story from week to week has invariably been a problem, if you can't remember where the previous episode ended. Why can't the quest simply stay on your quest list till it gets updated? I seem to remember last year's episodic quest worked that way.

It didn't. You had to go and find the next quest and pick it up. Difference was you could check at the barter npcs to see where you are at.
