    Yesterdays Cord of the Rings.

After watching Cord of the Rings yesterday, I was left feeling very disapointed. Cord stated that the Legendary Server wont be getting to complete the Anniversary event as its not open yet. These servers are home for quite a few players and leaving them out doesn't seem right. Surely there's something that can be done to sort this out.

    Thanks Becky

Is this related to the Anniversary Scavenger Hunt issue? Cause isn't there a lower-level version of those quests that would still be able to work for the LS? This doesn't make sense as the other festivals are available on it.

The first problem that comes to mind is that much of the (10 year) anniversary event takes place in areas not open on LS yet. I seem to remember there was an 'easy' version of the event for those below level 50 which I imagine should work, but maybe there's some reason in the code they can't offer one without the other.

    Question

Has LS even been up long enough for any 1st year anniversary yet ???

Well, the anniversary is about the play age of the player, not the server, but the LS hasn't opened any area past Lothlorien yet, so that presents a problem. There is a lower level version of the event though, so I suppose that could be played.

Oh I thought it was the age of the servers. I thought someone who had been playing for say 8 years could still do all the 10 years worth of anniversary quests to end when they were first was added at the 10 anniversary event. I had no idea that Your account also had to be 10 years old for that and now I assume 12 years old to do all 12 years worth of quests then, if it's about the players age as You say. Thank You for that information !!! I guess I learn something new every day.

That is why I thought it would be more logical to celebrate 1 year anniversary on LS once the servers have acctually been up for 1 year. I guess I was wrong then. I guess in a way if that is how it works (as you describe the players age), one could argue that no one on the LS have existed for 1 year yet and apply the same logic. Although I also do see the point that their account is older, so they want to do it now. Maybe it's neither the players account or even servers age but the games age now that I think some more. In that case LS should have anniversary too I guess.

Edit: Since You don't check PM's or often miss them due to notifications not working in here. I'm about to make some home made Latte and then go sit on balcony maybe an hour or so, listen to some music out in the "fresh" air and sun as I drink my Latte slowly. After that I will probably log on to play in the daytime today. Unless some phone call suddenly comes that makes it so I have to do something else, as is very common. However if not I'll be on for a bit if You want to hook up after my 1 hour or so in the "fresh" air sun. So around 1 PM my time. Which would make it noon Your time I think.

The gifts you get added to your inventory are determined by your account age, nothing else is. Quests are based on what is currently unlocked on a server. So if an anniversary quest brings you to Dunland for example, which is not unlocked yet on the Legendary Servers, it won't be available yet.

Nope. You could make a new account and roll a new char and with (a huge amount of help and game expertise) complete the original 10 year anniversary deed for the Elk and SS rewards. It probably wasn't intended but was possible. Changes to travel around Belfalas housing for LSs has limited those possibilities now. The lower level version quest made it impossible for low level chars to complete the wrapped deed as completion of all elements rather than just at least one came into play. I think it made around level 35 the low limit for completion.

Well, the scavenger hunt event is based on things and areas that have been on the servers for ten years, but a player of any age (as in, how long their account has existed) could do it as long as they could physically get their character/s around to the places involved. The main anniversary event is based on the age of a player account. Ages of the chars within it or the server, don't determine players characters take part.

Ithil and Anor are very new though, and because of the nature of those servers, many of the places in the scavenger hunt are not yet in play. They exist already, as we see them on stable masters and maps throughout the game, and we see references to them at skirmish camp barter NPCs. We cannot physically get to those locations yet through, no matter what age our account is.

I've not logged in today until now and was out of play most of yesterday (busy weekend in RL), so nope, not checked anything yet, not on forums or in game. Hope you enjoyed that Latte.

Thank You for the clarifications !!! I see so the Anniversary event is based on server age (just as I first thought), not character nor player account age, while the account gifts are based on players account age (I alreday knew that last one of course but still just to be clear). Then it makes sense that LS don't have the Anniversary available yet then I guess. Unless some claim it's not based on server age, but the games age, then all servers should have the event if possible. If some areas are not implemented on LS yet, then it again makes sense that LS can not due to technical reasons have it yet. No idea what the low LvL Anniversary version involves and where it takes You though, so no idea if that version would work on LS ???

Oh Hi Arnenna, I just noticed You had replied now too when I was typing my latest reply. Been on for hours and not seen You on. Now I just logged off to make a sallad for my son and myself for dinner. Not sure I'll be back on later. Maybe, maybe not. Yes, Latte was nice and so was the music, the air and the sunlight. Even if still a bit chilly in the air.

Aye, it's brisk here too. Spent the whole day out yesterday enjoying the outdoors, but it got mighty cold towards the evening. Same this morning, but at least it's not raining

Checked PMs, but nothing there from you other than what I replied to already. Perhaps my PM box is full again (sigh, the limit is so tiny for a day and age where we can store mega amounts of data into very small spaces), so I'll have to start culling old messages.

Aye, Mr, Let's stop, I need to sell, haha.

Inbox is a bit more roomy now. As ever though, proper email is still the most reliable method.

It IS based on the game's age. Were it not Crickhollow and other servers added years after the game's launch would be celebrating different Anniversary years.

LSs exist because the game is 12 yrs old - there would be no early years to return to were Lotro a new game. Lotro being 12 should be celebrated on LSs too . . . and not even considering that depriving sub paying customers goodies that f2p get is poor business practice.

I answered that incorrectly however many weeks ago, so the real deal is the level 50 version of the Scavenger Hunt is available on the Legendary Worlds.

In my mind it doesn't matter that the the Scav Hunt was set up to be used as a 'look back' at the adventures you have had.....if so then why did they ever revamp it with a secondary type quest that is for level 50 and below. Most players on the LS's ARE players who have been around a very long time. It is NOT fair to those of us who are now playing the LS not to be able to participate. Most of us have seen ALL the story lines any way so it WILL be reliving it for us. It appears the LS players who ALL pay to play are being discriminated against. What I would love to see happen is every LS player boycott LS for one month, see how they like losing all that revenue!!! I have always supported the game even when changes made didn't seem like the best idea : but this is beyond the pale. In 5 years I have never been so disappointed in LOTRO.

In 5 years you have other characters on other servers where you can complete anything, right?

If it work same way the common servers (and my memory is good), you need to take a quest from Waldo Rumble first.

Waldo Rumble doesn't have a scavenger hunt quest, as far as I can tell. Can anyone else verify that?
