German translation - Please keep english until you know it works

With U24 there are so many missing texts in the german client, I'm just surprised that with every update there has to be pain with translation.

    Please consider my suggestion seriously:
Use english text in the german client wherever text isn't yet translated or something is still wrong with translation. If you do that, some people will understand, others can look up the text on the internet or ask.
But if you just keep it empty or name it TBD, one can hardly guess what it should mean.

If the text just isn't there, e.g. mob names, items in the landscape, etc. many people have a hard time to scan landscape for these mobs/items. Even the Black Book chapter 10.3 doesn't have text at all. No quest text and not even a guiding text in the quest tracker, so you just don't know what to do until you stumble upon a deer and either kill it, attentively watching the chat or you lookup the tooltip.

So once again: Please use english text in the other languages when the translation isn't done yet or has some problems. I understand that sometimes translation can't be finished until the release of the update, but try to find a solution that can be better played than if you just leave text empty. We live in a more and more globally connected world, so english text in the beginning shouldn't be a crime, even if people don't understand it. Inexistent text for sure isn't understand by anyone.

Beside that, I'm loving the new update and enjoying the performance improvements with 64-bit client.
Although there are still some issues, e.g. with group disconnects in the raid. I'm confident you sort it out.

    Regards
    Mirthan

I have been playing in English for years, exactly because of these issues. Then I switched back to German because people kept asking in World chat where to find specific locations. This worked well for some time; but this update broke so many labels, it isn't even funny. And looking for inanimate objects with no name is becoming a PITA, if you are actually looking for rocks or truffles, and instead start mining or chopping wood (I didn't even see the node).

Please fix this as fast as possible.

German here & playing english too, but had several reports from kinnies about missing quest text and item names. Had to guide one of them through Black Book 10.3 too.

A really serious issue seems to be the new cooking recipe (for a 5% damage buff). It has an empty name, too. When you right-click the recipe, it is consumed, but can NOT be accessed via the crafting menu. My guess is that is has been added, but simpy isn't displayed because of the missing name.

--> People cannot cook that food when using the german client. Switching to english will start a large download (all the missing english voice files), so that's not a good option.

    Exclamation

    *Bump*

How comes this critical bug not listed under known issues? I'm not sure SSG is aware of this game breaking bug so I just filed it.

For those who don't use the german client, this is how the game currently looks. I have no idea what almost any new item is nor what it does. Enemies and NPCs also don't have names mostly.

As OP suggested, please put in the english strings as soon as possible at least while you are working on the translation.

Oh man, that’s gotta be irritating. I don’t blame you guys for being upset.

The German Translation has been in a bad Spot for years, but this time they killed it. The missing Questtext is too much. I will be switching to english for the time being.

Many if not most of the above issues related to Update 24 content should be resolved in a patch this week. We apologize for the localization issues.

    Miscellaneous

Fixed various translation issues with the French and German game clients.

Surprise after today's update: all reputation items have lost their names and tooltips in the german client. Some task items also lost their names. Bugreport was written.

Unfortunately we had a return of a tech-related issue that's been causing this, and we'll be working to correct this issue in the next game update.
