Smash and Crush or is it Crush and Smash?
Nope. He kept meaning to buy a better pair, but nobody had the color he wanted (hot pink)
Of course he did. His Zeal for the Honour of Gondor, Confidence in his own Valour, and Fidelity to his father's stewardship kept his footwear comfy.
(In other words, he stocked up on vxp accelerators. Now in the LotRO Store!)
Yes, and he had a good cobbler.
Boromir doesn't strike as one who who would wear comfortable shoes. He most likely wore hard leather boots all the time, never taking them off.
Boromir probably wore hard boots for rugged travel during the times of the fellowship. It is unknown if his shoes were comfortable but they probably would be to sustain long journeys.
Definitely not, that's why he was so skeptical about walking into Mordor.

He always carried a large horn to help get them on and off.

Faramir to Denethor “You wish now that our boots had been exchanged, that I had uncomfortable and Boromir had comfortable ones.”
Boromir wore Skechers Ultra Flex for the Ultra Warrior!
Come with us for Adventure! The Warriors of Camelot!
He borrowed Frodo's shoes!
Did Boromir travel in comfortable shoes:
Yes! Bororomir wasn't a novice on doing long journeys. He must have done that a lot during the wartime. To correctly choose your shoes & properly wear them, is 1 the 1st things you learn when you are doing that sort of job.
...what made them so?:
A shoemaker take the measures of the person's feet & make custom fit shoes. Nothing is better than that! His traveling shoes were most probably double cow-leather steel-toe boots, with ankles support, tick soles & soft rabbit skin inserts to cushion it, & always used with wool socks.
Of course, they were comfortable! They were made of a son of a steward. And he probably wore them for some time already and we all know that old boots are the most comfortable ever![]()
I don't recall ever reading about the state or quality of Boro's footwear in LotR, so probably not so much. I guess.
Well, he was rich enough to afford the skilled labor to make comfortable shoes, so I would think that he did travel in comfort when possible.
Greetings, all!
Hrm, this one's a thinker.
As several others have mentioned, Boromir certainly had the resources to have nice, comfortable shoes. Also, he's the type to wear what works for as long as it works, imho. However, he *doesn't* strike me as the type of person to allow themselves to get comfortable when there is a dangerous task to be done. So, imho, he puts a pebble in his boot every single morning when he wakes, to remind him of his duty - duty, that which he places above ALL else.
With warm wishes,
Khally![]()
They were super comfortable for the prince of Gondor!.. Dennethor made sure they were made out of the softest leather (and gave Faramir the coarse leather ones).
I picture him as a practical person,he would prefer something durable even if it was less comfortable.
Boromir did not have very comfortable shoes. His SOUL was torn between two choices.
He did, finest product from ol' Gondor. Unfortunately he was slain by orcs coz they envied his comfy shoes.
He might travel in comfortable shoes made in Gondor.
