The "new" animation is back on Bullroarer.

The most recent Bullroarer build has "the new" animation once again. And there is no toggle option! The animation has changed slightly, but it is no less annoying, confusing, flashy and simply painful for the eyes.

It would be really nice to have an official comment on the matter. I hope you, SSG, will keep to your promise not to bring it back on live without a toggle option. It is a serious gamebreaking issue, not just a matter of taste.

The animation change was welcome for me; though I do agree that the toggle option should or must happen first.

It didn't bother me much, but was more difficult to see. So many said it actually caused a physical reaction that I fail to understand why they would even think of bringing it back without a toggle! Personally, given the option, I would toggle it off.

Oh no, not again. I had to stop playing because of that, it created havoc on my eyes.

the thing that bugged me about it was that the animations often matched the skill background, so you had almost no idea a skill was active or in queue sometimes.

While I do think that this time the new skill effect looked better than the first attempt, I would still opt out of it if given the chance.

This was already literally brought up on the Bullroarer thread and someone already replied to it.

I like the new animation better, but I'm always down for a toggle.

Yes, it was brought up, but as usual, no blue name officially responded to it. (I just went and looked through the whole thread before responding to you)
They promised us a toggle, shouldn't even be messing with trying it out without promised toggle.

We are working to get tech in place to allow players to choose which Quickslot activation animation they wish to use, and that's why the code ended up back in the Bullroarer build. If this functionality is not ready in time for Update 30, we'll keep the new animation hidden.

I'm curious how it could create physical distress, but I agree a toggle would be great so I can play with the new one and people who want the old animations don't burst into flames.

I'm assuming the new animation will be the default and you have to change to the old one manually, is that the intended functionality? Either way, thanks for getting us a toggle!

Some people like me & many others have a very high sensibility to the light, so anything too shinny can cause physical pain on the eyes. That people like me have to play LOTRO with the illuminations very low or turned off when they can't be lowered enough to be comfortable. That light sensibility is not a option & we can't get used to illumination. It is inherited conditions.

There is also people that suffer epilepsy, to those, constant flashing lights can cause not only pain but convultions.

Thank you for the explanation and the speedy response. And thank you VERY much for the toggle!

I don't have that much of a reaction, the new animation makes my eyes really tired and strained. I could play maybe a total of 15 minutes before having to log.

I do not understand why SSG are changing it at all when almost all of the feedback seems to suggest players want it to remain as it is.

Is it really worth the time and effort in trying to change it to something that doesn't frustrate the playerbase added to the cost spent the from the time discussing it. Surely there is better things for SSG to use this for?

It simply doesn't make any business sense.

Please DO NOT let this go live. It really affects performance for so many players. Didn't we already go over this when it went live before?

It's interesting because I've yet to hear anyone in-game actually worried about this. It's exclusively the people who post on the forums. The forum population is absolutely not representative of the game as a whole.

So many? How many. It seems to only be affecting people who complain on the forums.

It's great to hear we'll be getting the ability to toggle between old and new in the future. Much appreciated.

I must be one of the oddballs. I do love that they'll have a toggle for it, but I liked the new animation. For me, it was easy to see and pick out.

It got brought up enough on Landroval that people were complaining about anyone who brought it up. And that's not even taking into account the folks who got migraines and just weren't on.

I guess they could have a vote to see which players preferred, or as is planned have it something you can turn on/off.

I like them. I also have light sensitivity, but they don't affect me. I don't have my gamma very high, maybe that makes a difference.

Truth, you alone don't represent the whole game. There are many other players that do. You, all people that logs on the forums & those that don't use the forums but play, & me included with them too, also count. Maybe at your server, the few talked with you, didn't say anything about that animation but on my server people did a major outrage on public chat, all day long, the day it went life, nobody on my server liked that new animation.
